Well good christian, that was fairly insulting. You don't know who I am or what my problems were when I was 16. But this Friday night on 20/20 at 10:00 PM, the world will hear the story of what these home have done to us. Please address any more points of your argument to them. My family, my friends, and my fellow survivors are standing behind me. God bless.
@gnostyx I just watched the 20/20 piece and it doesn’t have anything to do with the Roloff Homes. The wicked men shown in that piece committed heinous crimes for which they should be imprisoned. But to suggest that that’s the norm in an IFB church is no different from saying that all Catholic priests are child molesters and all Muslims are terrorists. It’s simply ignorant.
@gnostyx It seems to me that because you had a bad time in a home, you are striking out at all homes. You are making a generalization that if the home you were in was bad, then therefore ALL homes for needy kids are equally bad.
By defending the actions of the abusers, you are no better than them. The truth is that terrible things happened to children at the hands of the staff of the Roloff Homes. As long as the survivors of these "Christian Homes" are alive, we will fight against the mentality that teaches others that it's good to beat the fear of god into the young. We will scream the truth out loud for all to hear, and we will stand against you blind followers. We are not scared children anymore.
@gnostyx If you weren’t a mess, you wouldn’t have been sent to one of the homes in the first place. If you were never sent to one of the homes, you would still have most of the same issues that you have today. The only difference is that now you have an excuse for failure. Blaming other people. Blaming the injustices of the world. This is not conducive to self-improvement.

Many of the Roloff Homes were places of horrible psychological, spiritual, and sexual abuse. The persecutions of Roloff Homes were well founded, with hundreds of testimonies of the survivors. I was physically abused myself at New Bethany Home, but the girls endured much worse than myself under the watch of Mac Ford. The torture we went through forged a barrier between us and the true nature of God. The abuse was real, and so many of us relive it in our nightmares.
@gnostyx The homes were designed to serve as an alternative to prison for troubled youths. Trust me, you would have had a much worse time in prison. A lot of these kids got put back on the right track because of their experience in the homes. There are a lot of smart-mouthed kids that need a good smack across the face. Try talking back to a correctional officer and see what happens. The fact is that if you don’t put stripes on your kids now, the government will later.
I was never in one of Brother Roloff's homes but I had the privilege of attending his church on many occasions. I saw the kids when they came in and I saw them when they left. They came in beaten down by the world, drug addicted and sick and they left free from all of that. It's evident that the misinformed critics on this page don't hate Roloff. They hate God. Lester was doing his work and never apologized for it. He was a great man of God and I look forward to seeing him again.
This was such a blessing! My parents and grandparent worked at the Roloff Homes. My granparents ran the Roloff home for 20 years and my parents ran the Lighhouse home! I remember the farm very well and it is a shame what has happened to it today!
I saw something similar made from old newsreels from the 1930's with all the choir girls looking and dressing the same and singing obediently, but it was hard to understand a lot of it because the narration was in German
I have only something to say and that is God bless America again!
Don't get cold and clumsy people, dont get weary, don't go away from God, other people have come from other countries to take away what was once God's gift to you. I am talking about the land coz I am Mexican, I am talking about America's herritage, about Amrica's blessing, don't blow it people. turn to God and His word!
In 1982, the Bush Crime Syndicate began casing America for a hit job. Bush Sr. opened the window to allow the thieves to steal, kill, destroy, and take our jobs overseas. Clinton gagged us, backed the truck up, and opened all doors to speed up the robbery.
America was murdered under the Bush Regime. Lord Bush and Viceroy Cheney set up a rear-guard police state to suppress a revolt.
Obama is burying the evidence and forging our checks to clean out the national treasury.
we are in desperate need of a new generation of fighters like Lester Roloff, Christians are being mocked, persecuted all over the world, and even here in the USA. We have to stand up to it together, we need som eleaders and we need some young men who are passionate about God!
you know, i first started listening to Roloff back in 2002.. i must say, he had a real wholesomeness.. i particularly appreciated his non tolerance of long hair and rock n roll.. is comments towards homos were interesting as well..when he talked about veggies i always perked up..
A great man of God he was, and helped so many youngsters with his homes and ministry.

@InfiniteMushroom This was going on 9 years before the Bush Clan was able to start running amok.
Any time government gains this kind of ascendency over the church or the family, that's a mortal blow.
The other stuff's just God allowing the death rattle to follow, or not.
