if stone temple pilot's mother fucked audioslave's father this would be what they birthed... and now stone temple pilots and audioslave have an awkward half brother
@markaim23 which drumming mag? ive been trying to find a copy of it so i can cover it, ive got most of it worked out but its soo crazy near the end im not sure im quite right lol? i cant find any drum tabs for it?
One of the greatest rock drum fills I have ever heard between 3:18 and 3:32....that's a long time, and the energy to mash the crashes at the end with huge feel...awesome
I agree with you.... the fills are amazing! Ray Luzier is badass BADASS! He has toured with tons of people/bands. And there is a reason, he is just awesome!
im sorry, that was a long time when i posted that. lets just drop it please.... but are they christian, cuz my cousion is looking for a good rock christian band?
That's an MI teacher for you, freaking amazing, hahaha.
You should have seen him last night at my gig. My band opened for Bumblefoots side project and Ray was playing drums in his side project, so I got a front row spot to watch him play.
one more thing...the mimicking of styles by someone even one generation previous, can be an incredible thing...i say page-deleo continuation is similar to wagner-strauss or mozart-beethoven, or bartok/reinhart-fripp, ha ha ha, or king crimson-tool....not to say these would be the only influences, or that tool is better than KC, but my point is that influence is a rippling effect...and stones are always going to be throw by the geniuses
i saw them in pittsburgh and the deleo brothers were incredible.....the guitar is like an extension of jimmy page, but in a totally non imitational way...the solo on silvergun superman is SensationaL!!!!!
Ray Luzier is great. and the DeLeo brothers are amazing as usual. richard has a good voice for the songs they did. AoA isn't ment to be an imitation of STP, they are ment to be Army of Anyone, it just so happens that what is heard on bass and guitar on STP, come here, because Dan and Robert made that their signature sound. These guys are talented, and I really like their tunes.
This was an experimental band. This is really their only hit. Richard patrick's voice really did not carry over as once was thought. They all have talent especially the stp guitarists but meshing their styles are the problems they face. STP is a little more agressive at times and upfront while patricks voice is distant and a little more melodic.
they didn ´t mean to be the imitation, they made good album and I hope that they are more to come, although I am absolutely freakin about STP reunion too:)
Um STP are getting back together for a special tour this summer! Check out google news and type in Stone Temple Pilots reunite! IM NOT LYING GO CHECK IT OUT!!!
5/5 rating for this clip. I'm just sad from that leaving STP ;'(. Really I now say, for me STP was the best band what I ever seen. In their playing grunge was the best...
They do have potential, the name of the band kinda sucks though and they shove it in your face in this video, the video overall is not cool, i hate when they put people pretending to rock to the song in a video, you can only see shit like that on Pink, Avril Lavigne videos. These guys are amazing talents, they should know better.... im gonna buy the album and hope no to be dissapointed!
Normally supergroups that have surfaced out of 90s bands like velvet revolver and audienceslave suck but I think these guys have potential. The drummer is really impressive.
quite a pretentious critic aren't we? Army of Anyone is good, as are Audioslave and Velvet Revolver. All of them have chops. Now, here is the million dollar question: people know what these groups have done and that they can play; what have YOU done that is better?
I don't think that is a good "million dollar question." I don't have to do anything that is better. That's why I am the pretentious critic and they are the bands making millions of dollars. The penalty for being popular and rich is constant public scrutiny. The public has no obligation to do something better; we can sit and complain about everything and anyone--that's why I love 'merica.
