@citizenchoxi Walking down Partition Street you'll see that the view is blocked by the high-rise frame-work for a motel complex. The view from Nanny Goat hill is gone because it has been dynamited. Yes, there was a view for us all once upon a time. If you'd really want to see the hydro plant you can see it from the bridge. It remains to be seen whether this project can benefit the community, offer secure, decent jobs or any tax revenues to justify it's existence.
@citizenchoxi Maybe it does matter that the town passed up the opportunity to build a hydro-plant at the site of the dam. The lack of vision or leadership on the part of the town/village officials means that we have to do battle to keep our leaders from buying merry-go-rounds (true) or an art-park (Opus40) when for the same money they could have purchased the dam. A town owned hydro-plant could for ever have generated money from the sale of power to Central. Hudson and reduced our taxes.
If only Citizenchoxi's opinion was based on fact... The view is now gone, the hydro plant is under construction and the project was granted a tax exemption which could last for 10 years.
