  • really nice sounding !

whats the lift on your cam ?

  • @oohklu Hey bud, That was a NOS Direct Connection purple shaft. It was a solid lifter 284 duration. Lift was in the neighborhood of 528. Ported J heads, 273 Commando rockers.

  • left side low my challenger wil do that now and again torsion bar withway do you turn the nut hahahha

  • might of had a flat

  • He most likely has super stock springs on that Duster. A characteristic of the mopar SS springs is that the right side spring sits about an inch and a half higher than the left side.

  • wow!! nice sound

  • Wow! that sure is a healthy sounding 360! Sounds very similar to mine (73'360 .030 11.4 to 1 true compression with KB190 pistons, floating rods, 557" 296 deg solid purple shaft, cnc ported Edelbrock heads, Torker 2 intake and 830 cfm Holley. What size headers do you run?

  • Ugh, you had to ask. They are a pair of 25 year old Blackjack hedders. They are the small tube 1 3/4 type. They are paper thin & the bottom tubes are smashed flat at the collector from years of abuse! They get the job done for now.

My new set are TTI 1 5/8 A body hedders. Cant wait to slap em' on!!

  • Sounds like my headers they are smashed too from engine mounts need to be replaced

  • @L324RT12 Can't wait you say? God, I fucking hate changing headers.

  • sounds good

  • how much compression does that thing have if u dont mind me asking?

  • 11:1 or something close to that. Its in the 11's. Runs good on 93 octain, but I have to drive 100 miles to get it. All I can get around here is 91 & the duster dont like it.

  • have you tried E85 Ethanol yet? give it a 60 40 mix with gas... you won't BELIEVE the horsepower gain!

  • i would love to supe up my 383 what are some tips

  • Exhaust, intake, & a good carb would be a good start. 383's were good motors. I would love to have one in the duster.

  • yes the 383 is a very good motor, would a demon carb be a good choice i know edelbrock is just a pain the adjustments are never correct on em

  • I know alot of guys that are running demon carbs & having good luck with them. I have never had anything but Holley carbs & always liked them. Im not a big fan of edelbrock carbs on preformance applications.

  • cool

  • my oh my what a beautiful sound

    great job!

  • Thanks! I have it torn apart right now & im missing it something BAD!!

  • I bet

I know i would miss something like that.

But half the fun is putting it back together

    its also half the frustration!

  • very nice duster man...i have 70 duster also, but mine only has the stock 225 in it...im just gonna beef up the slant for now...i wanna see what i can get out of it....i have a 5.9L 360 that will eventually go into it...what do you have in yours,

  • Its a 72' 360, .040 over with worked "J" heads. 284 solid purple cam. It pulls like you wouldnt believe! Its amazing the power that a 360 has when you get it breathing right.

Kick ass on that slant of yours. I have a 225/904 combo in my parts car im planning on building up as soon as the duster is finished. Looking for a little dart to drop it in! Thanks for the kind words.

  • Sounds like you have a prety big Cam maybe to big!

  • Nah, just a old school 284/484 purple shaft. Its just right for the way this car is (was) set up.

  • MOPARS ARE KILLER

  • Indeed!!!

  • Its just open hedders in this vid, but when im done its going to have full 3" flowmaster 44's on it, complete with the factory style tips out the back.

  • what color is this

  • Petty blue! Soon to be EW1 (alpine white).

  • what color is this?

  • what color is this?

  • All it takes is money! Lots of money & a little time.

  • Hell Yeah! Sweet car, the color looks good!

I have a 73 Dart Sport on here and just bought a 74 Duster that had a 318 in it with a 72 Dart-Slant 6 W a 8 1/4. I plan to change the front clip and drop a 318 back in there on the cheap for now but painting it Plum Crazy anyway...maybe later I will get around to that Big Block and blah blah blah this sh*t is costing me crazy money, but I love it. MOPAR or NOCAR!

  • You should do the 400 stroker with it. Not sure but I think it takes it up to 512 C.I. 400's are getting hard to find around here cause people are buying them up to make strokers!!

  • hay car sounds good the motor that you got to here is an 400 big block iam going to buy it from my daddy to put it in my charger

  • Thanks! Its going to be a bad ass car when I get done with it. Sucks having it torn apart right now, cause I cant fire it up & listen to the music!

  • I understand! I'm restoring Trans AM and there no music too... Nice Duster!

  • SCHWING!! I've got a 70 with a 318 w/ a minor build and I love how it sounds when I first start it up. Your's sounds better though.

  • hahah i have a 74 with a 318 it sounds sweet too

  • Super stock springs & air shocks in the back. The left shocks is blown. Its an oldschool way of getting clearance for wider tires, but personally I think it looks like crap. Im planning on tubbing the rear end So I can run wider tires & still keep it level.

  • Nice duster, if you don't mind me asking, what's up with the right side? It seems to be higher than the left.

  • Its a 72' 360, .40 over. with 71 340 "J" heads. Glad you like it.

  • Very nice car man whats it got a 360?

govanta-i've got 70 duster with a 440 and my wheels turn fine with headers i just needed to modify them a bit......my 70 used to have a 225 wasn't enough so i pulled it....

  • I got a 73 Duster with a slant six. I get raged on all the time at school but thats all right, I can Drift it all day. I was bummed out because I have a 440 but with the headers it wont fit in the engine bay. I've seen one with a 440 but he could only turn the weels 25% before the headers touch em.

    Does your Duster have a 340 or a 360?

  • nice man, that sound gives me a boner lol beautiful car dude

  • Hey, glad you found the vid! Its a solid mopar purple cam, 528 lift, 284 dur. with 273 commando rockers on ported & polished "J" heads 2.02's & 1.60's & S/S valves. It sounds a little radical in the vid, but once it gets warm it settles down, but not much!

  • dannnnggg, what cam you running??

  • I said damn because my ears were ringing. This thing is loud inside the garage! And I damn near got to buy a new camera at the end.
