Actually I read that in an article but I cannot remember where exactly- Jane Fonda, while shooting "the electric horseman" 12 years after "Barefoot in the Park" realized that she has always been keen on Robert Redford. •She confessed she fell in love with co-star Robert Redford when they made three movies (THE CHASE, BAREFOOT IN THE PARK and THE ELECTRIC HORSEMAN) together in the 1960s and 1970s even though she was married at the time. (June 17, 2005) -Check on Celebrity wonder website
What a sexy couple ! Jane Fonda is very pretty and Robert Redford is gorgeous ! I understand why Jane admitted years later in an interview that she was secretly in love with Robert Redford and of course he didn't know it. I love that drunken Paul scene.
@berbersissi Can you please tell us/me more? Was this from a mag. article, or an interview, or some book? Just where did you find this? I'd love to know more about what she said... if you can spare the time.
Hi nextlover : More about Jane Fonda's crush on Robert Redford - "Every movie I made with him," his Barefoot in the Park costar Jane Fonda told PEOPLE, "I developed a crush on him."
I have also found out that Jane Fonda told James Lipton during the show "Inside Actors Studio" dedicated to her career that she fell in love with Robert Redford but they were unfortunately both married at that time. Check on youtube the Jane Fonda interview with James Lipton
this is way better then streisand and redford, i feel it is so, because it is raw and full of true feelings... although it is zaney and a little crazy in the moments, it has so much true feelings of what a person would do for their loved one if they loved them "Barefoot in the Park"
I met Sum STRONG/Career men who didN't really have time 4ME, Not SEXually though (they had time 4 ForePlay, etc but not muchMore than that). In Fairness 1-2 had the Family/KIDs (+ CAREERs) 2see 2,not Me. I felt sorry 4 them so I DUMPed them & Married a Nobody whom I Really felt sorry 4. Now, coZ the nobody was brought up by nobodies in a SHITcountry, HE didNOT have time 4me either, not coZ of Wife/KIDs or CAREER! but coZ of watching StevenSegal, VanDAME, etc movies! Not even HAVING aMistress!
Greenwich Village, NYC. Pretty much that same now, 2009. (except car models). Must havebeen shot earlySunday AM in Winter (no leaves on trees) with extras for pedestrians. Although in 1961 Redford and Fonda were virtual unknowns, so may have been "real' people on streets. Very uplifting movie with matching music.
That was early 1967 actually, and both were already very big stars by the time this film came out. They probably used "real" people on the streets, however.
@alexalex3131 Yes your right. Grennwich looks almost the same in 1966 as in 2011. This scene was filmed in late November in '66. And your right about this movie being a very sweet & uplifting film with a great music score.
I love this movie. Jane Fonda and Robert Redford do very well together. I have a movie in mind that I am hoping someone might know of. Robert Deniro and Jane Fonda play in this movie. For the life of me I cannot remember the name of it. Jane Fonda meets Robert Deniro and learns that he is illiterate and teaches him how to read and write. It is a good movie and I hope someone has it and will be able to download it.
I really love this film, Jane and Robert have a nice rapport. This scene has such good funny moments - I always laugh at the part when Paul leaps at Corie. Very touching at the end too. Thank you for uploading!
This is my favourite scene from one of my favourite films! I love Robert Redford and Jane Fonda! Robert is very handsome too! :) xxxxxx
