I played EQ2 when it first came out. The game was great for a while but they kept changing everything (sound familiar?) and eventually I lost interest. Wonderful game tho, and I really miss the music and my friends the most.
Well there's about 3 Million characters, with a 7 cap on accounts so its way under a million playing but like iwra said its well more then enough to make it enjoyable and to find groups as well. $14.99/mo
If they were to advertise it better they would have more than wow but their marketing sucks! eq2 is a well polished game and even though its old it still looks beatiful way better than fugly wow :D
first of all i play WoW and you don't have to insult WoW every time you see a MMORPG better then it it's like Halo 3 on the 360 people always say "This will be the Halo killer" (HAZE on the PS3) but that game failed, anyways i never mentioned WoW in my first comment which means you didn't have to bring it up also WoW and Halo 3 keep getting made fun of but they still have the most players and the highest ratings
you do know a lot of people are leaving wow right? lol they actually dont have as many players as they say they do. i played up until about a week ago. just started getting irritating. EQ 2 is definitly better then wow. doesnt matter how many people play wow. only reason many people play wow and not EQ is because EQ doesnt advirtise like wow. wow has a commercial on everytime the tv is on.
pvp is fun but it can get boring after you do it for a few hours. so thats why i likke ot get my skills up, im not one of those hard core levelers either,
I guess i never played the game long enough to ever get to a point like this. Howd you get all the books? Do you just find random books from drop mods then put them on there?
i used to love eq2, what realm are u on, i loved to build stuff, i think everquest is the BEST MMORPG, who gives 2 shits about pvp, i just love to make stuff in game, thats what i loved about eq2 that i had a nice littlehouse and i was upgrading it every time i could, pvp was not that big of a deal for me.

but dont do what i did. books made your house laggy, laggier than pets do in fact.. i got a total of about 140 something books in my 5roomer in North Freeport (Clawfinger, 5 Compassion road on Befallen if you got nothing to do ^^) expect heavy lag, did the interior all by myself.
I recently moved to the 5 roomer in SQ, cause i had too little room. Now i can place all my items, but it takes a long while indeed to load the house :x
oh yeah it takes time to fill 'er up. i still havent made the statuscost go away. i dont have the money to get mastercrafted stuff really =P Spent all my cash on gear and adornments >.<

Most of the books that are in player houses are earned through questing as rewards.

/Agree, pvp isnt as much fun as pve because you can mind your own business and someone doesn't come up and PK you... lol.

Yes they are. Hence the long loading times to enter the house. A big big downside of housing in eq2. SWG was a lot better at that...
