  • REPUBLICANS; TEA PARTY - LISTEN TO THIS DUDE: what right does government have to "legislate" an individual's lifestyle?

    NONE!

Step the hell off the "gay" issue! If you be Christian, than accept others as God created them - EQUAL!

Sure, we may have debates on "morality" as we consider it, but we OUGHT NOT USE FORCE OF GOVERNMENT TO FORCE OTHERS TO LIVE OUR WAY!

THAT IS WHAT WE ARE FIGHTING AGAINST RIGHT NOW!!!

LEAVE INDIVIDUALS ALONE! WE HAVE NO RIGHT TO IMPOSE OUR WAY OF LIFE!

  • I am sick as hell of my side of the aisle being painted with this "far right" brush - WE NEED TO GET REAL AND BE CONSISTENT!

I want you to know, my friend and fellow defender of Liberty, that I am fighting for you! EVERYTHING YOU SAY IS CORRECT!

If we apply liberty honestly, we MUST apply them to ALL citizens.

I want to encourage you to keep fighting, and I pledge I will continue to fight, and a conservative republican, TO DEFEND YOUR RIGHTS, JUST THE SAME AS MY OWN!

    GOD BLESS YOU, BROTHER!

  • YEP, it did. I happen to be a Tea Partier, and seriously Conservative, and I say I DON'T WANT THE GOVERNMENT TELLING PRIVATE CITIZENS HOW TO DEFINE MARRIAGE!

I am a Christian, a Conservative, and a HUGE defender of LGBT rights, since your rights are the same as mine!

Government OUGHT NOT LEGISLATE "morality"; that is the duty of free people, debating freely.

HANDS OFF "opinions" of "correct" relationships, government.

Republicans and Tea Party - DEFEND THE RIGHTS OF THESE FOLKS, DAMMIT!

  • Let me see if my new account works...

  • I am still working my way thru watching your videos....you have done some awesome stuff! Thanks to the whole family there !!!

  • small thought. - Are they a Majority? who says they are?

  • Great video! Keep up the good work. Equality will win in the end!

  • Gays are not treated equal though we pay taxes like everybody else ... Shouldn't we get a discount? Just a crazy idea of me... Great vid it touched me Kiss AnneRose

  • No Granny...the point is that we as Gay people are citizens the same as you yet are not afforded the same rights you are. to see anything else in this statement other than that is to turn a willfull blind eye to it.

  • Hrm tell that to a gay friend whom died in Iraq. He had planned to retire from service when he returned to marry his partner of many years in California.

  • You leave this country. My ancestors were in North America before any self righteous pharisee ever put a foot on this land. My Native American tribe is about to reinstate "two-spirit" partnerships. You see gay marriage existed in the US before all your ancestors came here with slaves and disease.

  • homosexuality is a mental illness that isn't treated

  • @exaurius

You're wrong. That's an outdated teaching from the 1900's that has been banned from the American Psychological Association. Educate yourself.

  • lol because you don't agree with me doesn't make me uneducated

  • Yes you are Uneducated. you have to be to make a statement like that.

  • @depfox

Where in the Bible does it say that GOD has granted Homosexuals with an UNALIENABLE right to marry each other???

    No Where.

  • As if Bible is the one and only book of truth that should guide us through the unknown of life.

    News flash: it's not.

News flash: there are other books & other opinions.

News flash: there is freedom of religion that allows people to have different religious beliefs, and you are not allowed to impose your beliefs on those people and on any people who want to exercise their freedom of religion. Therefore, Bible does not define the text of Constitution, Bible is not a reference book for lawyers.

  • Those who think that Bible should define something in secular life, are simply overstepping, they have no respect for their own civil rights granting them freedom of religion, therefore, they don't respect secular law, they don't respect other people, their neighbors. By not respecting other people, they don't respect themselves (don't confuse egocentrism with self-respect). I don't wanna respect anyone who doesn't respect everyone else, including themselves. Don't wanna, not gonna.

  • @KirilleXXI

If God did not give man the Bible there would be wide spread Violence and Chaos to an extreme degree.

The Constitutions and Laws of this world would be worthless with out God. Without the restraint of the Bible backed by an Almighty God there would be ransacking, pillaging and looting to no measure.

  • @94110CALI

Before "God" gave people Bible (well, people wrote it themselves, but who cares, right?) they lived without it, and if there were chaos, no one would even make it to the times when they learned to write things down. Animals don't understand Bible, but they didn't kill each other off.

Laws cannot be worthless for they protect people & their property; there's nothing divine about it! All I hear from you is that Bible scares the crap out of people to make them abide the law. Ridiculous.

  • @KirilleXXI

Humans are not simple minded animals. The Bible is the Supreme code of Ethics/Morals.

God is the Supreme enforcer. Fear of God is the Supreme controller.

If there was no Fear of God the streets would be red with blood. Nobody as it is truly gives a damn about a law written by man and enforced by man.

People fear the all seeing Eye.

  • Gosh, it all came down to preaching.

You know, I've been there. I've had extended conversations with priests about homosexuality. It didn't end well. You, guys, are not ready to have a real conversation, Bible aside. After talking a lot I ended up watching those priests behave like 7-year-old kids throwing tantrums and calling me names while I was the only one remaining calm. I couldn't believe my eyes.

    Been there, done that.

It's not gonna end well this time either.

    Let's just drop it, dude.

  • @KiilleXXI

I'm not a Priest. That's a funny story thou, so basically you got punked out by a priest.

It reminds me of a situation in which a military Chaplain was being baited into a controversial discussion and responded to the irritant by saying "HOMO says What" every time the irritant spoke.

I heard that everyone around doubled over and laughed so hard that their sides ached.

  • You know, your observation skills are exactly what I expected them to be for someone who's not able to see beyond his nose buried in Bible.

Not only you read just those opponent's words you need to use in your little posts, you also comprehend them in your own "God-only-knows-which" way. It's a very important talent for politicians. That's why I can't stand them (politicians, that is).

BTW, I never implied that you were a priest. These days anyone can preach, you don't have to be a priest.

  • @ KirilleXXI

You are not making sense as usual. Learn how to articulate yourself so that normal people of morals and ethics may be able to comprehend your foolish rhetoric.

  • Cali, I hadnt read your other comments before I gave mine to you. I dont think its really healthy to have respect for something/someone that instills fear in people, like the way you perceive god to be. And it breeds more fear, and with that, hatred, so it actually makes the world a worse place, not better.

  • @summersonset

The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge.

  • @94110CALI

I believe I said everything I wanted in first two comments of this conversation branch.

I.e., you don't respect freedom of religion guaranteed in Constitution and International Law, you don't respect other people with their own opinions. And THIS IS your problem.

Stop imposing your beliefs on others, you have no right to do it.

Stop browbeating people into believing in magic under fear of being crushed like bugs or fear of eternal torments in hell.

Fear is only the beginning of fear.

  • So the only thing that keeps you from killing people is your religion, and not anything like the basic concern for human suffering, happiness and welfare? Woww please never come near me

  • The Bible never granted anyone any rights. God has all the rights in the Bible. Maybe you didn't read the part where he killed all those babies.

  • Everything you have said is wonderful, but the original constitution should in right of its words give us equality. Bryan I am proud to have heard you today. I only wish you were president. You have brought me to tears and I hate how I can live in a time were hated still rules over human equality. It is hatred by the way. But one day they will be brought to justice for that bigoted hatred. We will have gay marriage and total equality one day, but not today.

  • what does the "Q" stand for in GLBTQ?

  • Questioning

  • It means Queer.

  • im so happy for couples across the nation like you two. both of you are very brave. more brave than i could ever be. so in other-words... thank god that there is gay people like you out there to help us more "sissy gays" (promise no degradation or pun intended in that)

  • We are all Sissy gays at first then we wake up and understand that we are all unique.

  • well done!

  • Bryan, this is a well-written declaration that states what was clear since Prop. 8: people don't have a right to vote on civil rights of any kind, it should be decided by legislators through Constitutional Courts' rulings, and judges should be held accountable for denying people their rights, but what they do is cowardice: they claim a denial of liability to shove it in our faces that majority of people don't agree, and cover it up under false pretenses that this is democracy!

    (From Russia.)

  • The Declaration of Independence does not Grant rights it only recognizes the preexisting rights given to us Humans by God the Creator.

    Pay Attention to this Principal

(endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights) This means that Declaration of Independence Rights are derived from GOD in the Bible.

The Bible does not provide Homosexuals with any unalienable rights to marry each other.

  • @videosRfun

Enough with this Bible crap already!

And, BTW, I did not say a word about the US Declaration of Independence or anything else, because I don't think that some document should and is fully able to describe civil rights completely, without leaving any chance for revision. You can't seriously believe that those words written 200 years ago can be applied in every important aspect of our lives.

Just watch Sean Chapin about that: viBatsw7dgA

  • @KirilleXXI

NO, ENOUGH OF THIS GAY RIGHTS CRAP ALREADY....

  • Yell louder, maybe God will hear you and flood us, gays, forever...

  • So Gay people believe that Capital Letters can be heard..........WOW.

  • I don't speak for all gay people, I only speak for myself, and it is a common knowledge that capital letters means yelling. Yell away all you want. You have a right to do it. I recognize this right of yours. It's a pity that you can't recognize other people's rights, letting one little book called Bible decide what you think & feel. Why not use your own head? It's always been a mystery for me.

  • @KirilleXXI

You wrote "letting one little book called Bible decide what you think & feel. Why not use your own head?"

By this statement of yours it is clear that you are opposing the Holy Bible because it condemns man on man DICK sucking and man on man ASS FUCKING.

I bet your house smells like cum and shit. You are a pervert. People who like to engage in man on man Sodomy are demented, immoral and are unethical perverts.

  • This is very mature of you.

There is nothing holy about Bible. It promotes violence, slavery & inequality. And it was written by men, not by God. Some people wrote down something, some other people edited those words & twisted everything to make the truth unrecognizable, and billions of people had to believe those words verbatim. Well, I'm not one of those, and it has nothing to do with Bible's position on homosexuality. It's much more.

But, clearly, you're not ready for that kind of discussion.

  • You say all those things because of all that bile in your body, anger & hatred that your Bible & your church taught you. Is that what God intended? He wanted people to hate each other for their differences in skin color, gender, country of origin, pedigree, and sexual preference? I don't think so.

And there is no such thing as "normal". Nature is too complicated, too versatile, too sophisticated. Just open your eyes! We don't know why it is this way, but it doesn't mean that Bible knows better.

  • Hi Kirillexxi thank you for the great responses to someone like VideosRfun but once he started calling names it was time to block him from out videos. We appreciate your voice and your suport..

    Jay

  • Well, I'll just post my little statement that I was writing right now, to thank him for little something. Something good came out of this discussion, so I want to share it with everyone.

  • @videosRfun

You know, it took me 6 years to realize something important. I used to think that I was unlucky to be gay, that I'd rather be straight, because straight people get to be out in the open, holding hands, hugging & kissing, and no one tells them that it's inappropriate and bad for kids. I used to envy straight people for that reason. But not anymore. I realized that I'm the lucky one, because I get to see this world with my own gay eyes, first hand, and I see that it is OK to be gay...

  • @videosRfun

... I am gay and I see it for myself, this is my privilege to answer the question if this is OK. And it is. I know it, and you don't. Because I'm gay and you are straight (or seriously confused).

This is one of those incredibly rare moments when I get to be proud that I'm gay. What is gay pride? I don't know, but I guess it is the number of those rare moments when I am proud to be the way I was born. So, I thank you, videosRfun, for giving me this moment of pride!

  • @KirilleXXI

LOL, Your gay Compadre (depfox) says that he blocked VideosRfun's comments...he believes in removing persons freedoms of speech when what they do with those freedoms becomes offensive to special interest....that's wonderful...Great Thinking there!!! Hypocrisy in action LOL

  • I block any one who starts calling people Offensive names and treat them less then any human being should be treated. We dont have to agree with each other and we dont have to like each other but my videos are not on youtube so that people can atack people with hatefull hurtfull speach.

  • @depfox

It could be argued that your demeanor, conduct, lack of morals, speech, attack on decency/norms, lack of ethics and your influences on small children are hurtful, hateful, offensive and inhuman.

  • Depfox are really good people, no need to bash them.

  • If you think their influence on their children is harmful in any way, then you have blinders on your eyes because those kids are clearly in good hands. You're only seeing it as being harmful because you're wearing blinders over your eyes and your own personal prejudices. This family is the only one these kids ever had. What would you have them do? Break up for no reason?

  • You're an idiot, blocking someone on youtube isn't "removing their freedom of speech," freedom of speech only applies to the government taking away your right to speak. It's HIS youtube channel which means he can block anyone he wants, just like you can make anyone you want leave your home!

just proves you know nothing of how the law actually works

  • @KirilleXXI

You said that you used to think you were unlucky for being Gay. Don't blame your GAYness on Luck.

You are Gay because you chose to be Gay. You make it clear that VideosRfun allowed you to experience sweet abandonment for giving you an opportunity to answer controversial questions about being Gay.....That's GAY. LOL

  • @94110CALI

Jay made a decision, it's his prerogative. I wasn't offended by VideosRfun's words, I've heard worse, and I believe that he has a right to have his opinion, not that I enjoyed that he shared it with us here.

As for choosing to be gay. Well, you don't get to tell what I did or didn't do. Only I know that. And I have no intention to lie about it: I DID NOT choose it. I don't care if you don't believe me. You can't prove me wrong as much as I can't prove you wrong. It's a vicious circle.

  • Comment removed

  • gotta love the irony when homophobes are the only one in this discussion to start talking about graphic sex. You do realize that it just makes people view Christians as sex-obsessed perverts, way more than any gay person

  • Well, the bible is not the law of the land, is it?

  • @summersonset

The Holy Bible is more than the law of the land it is the Law of the Universe.

  • So, youre saying that its not okay to be gay in, for example, the Andromeda Galaxy?

  • @summersonset

That was a funny question. Gay people are funny not just funny acting with a lisp but genuinely funny. LOL

  • Not sure if youre serious, but I laughed out loud coming up with that question LOL :-)

  • Why do you assume that everyone who thinks you're a moron is gay? You don't have to be a bigot to be straight ya know.

  • The Bible doesn't provide any rights for anyone, period

  • Love you Bryan. While I agree that we all deserve equal rights and that we should be able to get married...remember that the "pursuit of happiness" is in the Declaration of Independence and not in the constitution. The Declaration actually has no standing in American Law.

  • Brilliant.

  • I really enjoyed that.

  • thank you so much! this made me cry. the connection you created to the bill of rights is powerful and will hopefully be convincing to many. a version with more accessible language might be better at convincing some, but this was great.

  • What annoys me is that the bible is completely outdated in 2009. Yet it's still being used as a weapon.

People need to understand the context of which the bible was written if they wish to actually believe in it.

I don't care if people want to believe what the bible says, but don't apply rules written for a completely different culture to our culture in 2009.

And when the bible was written, they weren't even aware of consenting, monogamous homosexual relationships. Hence the lack of mention.

  • Obviously, a very heartfelt response to recent events. Just try to keep faith. Women's equality and racial equality have both been long, hard battles that modern people tend to take for granted. If all else fails, you have enough star fighters to stage a Rebellion. I kid, but seriously, my heart goes out to you and your family. This seems to have hit you guys particularly hard.

  • Thank you for posting this video. I was really moved.

And I couldn't agree more, you shouldn't ask for your rights, you should demand them. And you shouldn't really even have to demand them, they should be given to you as they are given to everyone. We are all human beings. And people who use religion as an argument to not give GLBTQ citizens the same rights as everyone else, are so utterly full of b-s. God created us all and loves each and everyone of us equally.

Keep up the good work. <3

  • Your star wars shirt gives the declaration an entirely new dimension. Keep up the good work, btw! :)

  • strong video

  • nice job!

  • HAPPY HAPPY B-Day!!! Be sure and do something fun!!

  • By the way Bryan, Happy Birthday!!!

  • Did our fore-fathers not come to this country for the very same reasons that we are now being forced to live under? They were religiously oppressed by a majority of people who found the way they lived to be wrong or reprehensible? Why must we, in the 21st century be subjected to the same ideologies present in the 17th century? Call me crazy but are we not called a civilized nation? How can that be when our families are fed the same barbaric rhetoric? When, in the course of human events...

  • HAPPY BIRTHDAY BRIAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • sometimes i think people are just big mistake, they cant live peacefuly with nature surrounding them, what to talk about respect and equality, which are more incomon between many animals ,and so little between human beans... :( im so sorry for all pain those people give you Brian :( hugs

    xxx

  • Happy Birthday mister...all the best.

  • I wonder if the people of Maine and CA who identify as minorities ever thought about how their life would be right now if their civil rights were put on a ballot & voted on. "The majority, oppressing an individual, is guilty of a crime, abuses its strength, and by acting on the law of the strongest breaks up the foundations of society." - Jefferson I'm so sick of the current bastardization of America and democracy.

  • I understand what you are saying, but I think that we also have to respect that YouTube (and DepFox) is also a cathartic release. We have a chance to say to people what we don't get to say to individuals. I doubt that numbers of viewers matter to Brian (other than that it shows that their message is going out) and the message is more important than the 'ratings'. Understand, I'm not attacking you for your comment, I just don't think it should matter.

  • I understand you epiphanyong....it was long and tedious...but oh so important. these are the ideals that ensure our freedoms. If we cant sit still for twelve minutes to listen to them than do we have the right to be protected by those same principles?

  • Ok. Very good.

But remember that most people is neither strongly for or strongly against. (At least here in Norway.)

So if you plan on getting the notice of alot of people maybe it should not be so long ?

    Other than that. Great.

  • That was fantastic, even tho i'm not a USA citizen, i am 100% wwith you and i really wish your government would respect our rights... like any other person

  • Wish u would have started this out with "IM HERE TO RECRUIT YOU!" - Harvey Milk -

    RIP.

  • Workers of the world unite against the money grabbing politicians...

Capitalism and fascism are two sides of the same barbarian coin...

    Long Live great Communism !!!

Death to fascism and capitalism !!!

Long Live Marxism, Leninism and Maoism !!!

Obama and Bush are the same fucking greedy and bloodthirsty puppet bastards !!!

Never condone to the capitalist masonic evils.

  • just because granting gays marriage doesnt compute for YOU doesnt mean that you have any right voting aways my civvil rights. And definitions can an DO change.

  • except thats the thing it's not your civil rights because marriage is when a man marries a woman. penis goes into vagina, that's what it's there for and it's obvious. You act as if you are the victim but you don't realize that if there was "gay marriage"(lol) you are ruining the concept of marriage which has lasted thousands of years. it ruins the tradition....

  • Osama, marriage is a civil right (some US Court decided that some years ago). FYI, there already are states that have gay marriage. Further, traditions change.

  • Okay there friend, we don't care about the blasted word. We care about the legal rights. We care about being able to keep our children and being able to visit our parters in hospital rooms. Marriage? I don't dive a damn if i can get "married". I care if i have the same legal rights with my partner, that you will get with yours. We are equal. That is supposed to be the beauty of America.

  • A way to keep marriage from being "perverted" would be to take it out of the gov't. Then we could all get cival unions an the people who could get married in church would have to be accepted on a personal baisis.

  • Also, I suppose I got snippy because you said vaginas are for penis... and mine severely disagrees :P

  • If you're okay with gays having equal rights then why not just call it marriage anyway if it's equal? Last I checked, the religious right does not own the word marriage. If you think gay people should have equal rights and be considered equal than how would they "pervert" marriage anyways?

  • If you think gays should have the same rights then what would be the point in dividing the institutions, how would it "pervert" marriage if you think they should have the same rights then what difference would it make anyway, don't you think it's insulting to suggest that your marriage is somehow perverted just because two men got married, who you don't even know and who don't affect you at all?

  • you act as if "penis into vagina" is the ultimate justification for marriage.

Just because it has always been so....does not mean It can not...or should not change.

  • Marriage used to be a financial arrangement with multiple wives, why did you have to go and ruin that tradition?

And calling it something else is unfair and pointless. It makes gays more likely to get the shorter end of the stick when giving them two separate institutions. Do you really trust the government to keep them completely equal...I don't think so

gay people pay EQUAL TAXES therefore should be considered EQUAL by the government

  • Either marriage should be equal access to all couples or not state-sanctioned for anyone at all period

  • You obviously have a limited understanding of human sexuality. It's not that simple. We're a social species who uses sex as a social bonding mechanism. Therefore the penis goes wherever it works.

  • so should we call divorce something else as well? is that too reserved for only heterosexuals?

marriage didn't need a definition until gay people started wanting rights.

  • no, divorce has always been an option after marrying... of course it's reserved to heterosexuals because that's what marriage is, man, woman, get together, and if they don't last, they divorce.

  • 50% divorce rate, Osama, what do you have to say about that?

  • like I said, divorce was always an option.

  • Osama, please answer the question. What do you think about 50% divorce rate? To me it means penis+vagina is not as successful and normal as people, like you, want to make it look.

  • I did answer it. You got comprehending issues. I JUST said, divorce has always been an option.

  • No, you didnt,, Osama, So, you think its normal that 50% of straights divorce? And also, isnt that against tradition?

  • actually, I DID. I see it RIGHT there in the comments section.

and nope, it isn't. because divorce is different than marriage. getting a divorce doesn't change the fact that you went through the marriage process.

  • Again, you didnt answer my questions. And that is also not your intention. But then again, youre a republican. I ran into many, all the same.

  • Again, Yes I did answer.

    >50% divorce rate, Osama, what do you have to say about that?

-Divorce has always been an option

That was my answer, but you were like "please answer my question" so I was all "uhh wtf.. I just did... "

and I'm not republican I'm democrat. You are generalizing.

  • Thats what I mean Osama, cant have an honest and intelligent discussion. bye.

  • yeah, because you for some reason have comprehending issues because i just answered the question and you were like "answer the question" when I already did. Yes, you can't have an honest discussion because you slandered me by saying I was republican when I wasn't.

  • You want an honest discussion or just play some games? Since Ive seen its the latter, so Im done.

  • we can't relaly have an "honest" discussion, since you called me a Republican (which I'm not)

  • Youre a classical one. Boring.

  • if stating a fact and pointing out the hypocrisy in you asking for an honest argument but lying about someone's political views is classical... then ok, good

  • Just so you know, marriage has already taken a turn for the worse in this country because about half of marriages end in divorce. Although I'm not saying that granting homosexual marriage would decrease the percentage on this statistic, I'm just saying that heterosexual marriage is not all that it is cracked up to be.

Furthermore, why did you watch this video in the first place, and then proceed to argue online?

You have to realize that sometimes it is better not to say things.

    Argument over.

  • Like I said I don't care how the marriages turn up. divorce has always been an option.

and to your question, because I agree with adoption. you are the one who commented to argue with me, so I should be asking you this question.

you have to realize that sometimes it is better not to say things. Argument over. (lol like that actually works)

  • It will right now. I just wanted to talk to someone, but then I realized that this conversation was not going to go anywhere because we come from different sides of the spectrum. So adieu.

  • not really because I'm still replying. sooo, NOW it will. unless you reply, so if not, NOW it's officially over. so peace

  • Divorce hasn't always been an option, the penalty for dissolving the sacrament of marriage was death, until not very long ago. The woman in any marriage was also prperty, but to you that's neither here nor there, since your reactionary views are that marriage isn't continually re-defined, as is religious dogma, which has clearly infected your thoughts. You should be arguing against interracial marriage, that's more your speed...like it used to be Slooow, where any idiot (you) could understand.

  • Well you result to name-calling (most likely a projection) so theres not really any point in arguing with you because you lost your reliability by using a term that is offensive to those really born of subnormal intelligence. Something that people can be born with... so you're point is moot.

  • Ridiculous. You would stand up for "tradition" without facing the logic of your apologetics? There are far more effective arguments for you to make, besides calling me out for labeling you an idiot. Go back to junior college and this time pay attention., you're only filling up a thread with useless electrons, and arguments that make sense only to you, a fourteen year old solipsist, apparently.

  • I am the troll police here to apprehend an obvious offender..here is my "Troll be gone" spray applied to the nearest asshole, you. It thinks it's a contrarian, folks, nothing to see here.

  • OK, IIIIIII'm projecting, BUSTED!!! lol. Would you like to refute your intial position now? Since you're nowhere near the subject at hand, watch the video this time, and start over, K?

  • Yes, obviously you are projecting. because you lied about my political views saying I was republican, but then say to have an "honest discussion". By saying that, you are either trolling or being a hypocrite.

  • I said nothing of the sort, I said what I said, despite your confusion. that happens sometimes, one is wrong while the other, me, is right.

  • No, you aren't right, despite your confusion.

  • I think you need to remember that this debate is about state-recognized civil marriage. Churches are still free to define religious marriage in any way they so choose. That's the way it is in Canada. Churches are not forced to marry anyone that does not meet their particular definition (divorcees, same-sex couples, etc).

  • Traditions aren't always good things, unless you're saying you want slavery to come back.

  • Weak. Marriage is a union between two consenting adults. At least other opponents of gay marriage come right out and blame their beliefs on their religion. When interracial marriage was made illegal people used the same arguments. They were weak then and they're weak now.

  • No, it's a union between a man and woman. it has never been "a man of his own race with a woman of another race" in fact Moses himself was married to a woman from Ethiopia. Just because the LAW changes the definition because of trying to be PC doesn't mean my view isn't gonna change.

  • I don't care what you believe as long as it doesn't infringe upon my rights. INTERRACIAL MARRIAGE WAS ILLEGAL in the UNITED STATES UNTIL 1967. Why am I not surprised that you don't know recent American history yet you have the nerve to make biblical references as if you actually know what you're talking about. WTF. Read a history book.

  • You don't know what you are talking about because I already knew that interracial marriage was illegal. you just *assumed* I didn't, out of nowhere... just because it's legal or illegal won't change my belief. Just because you want the name to be called marriage. When I already said I believe gays should have the same rights as marriage, just change the name cuz in my view that is not marriage and it hasn't been for thousands of years, until recently because of people trying to be PC.

  • Reall? I don't know what I'm talking about? Go back and read your comment. Here, I'll even quote it for you. This is what you typed:

"No, it's a union between a man and woman. it has never been "a man of his own race with a woman of another race"

So, you see, you did not know what you were talking about or else you wouldn't have made such a stupid comment in the first place.

Civil unions don't grant the same rights as marriage. Please start making sense. Thanks.

  • Yes, actually I do. In my first comment I basically said that they should have the same rights, but call it a civil union. because marriage is a man and woman.

    >civil unions don't grant the same rights

-that's what I'm saying, I'm saying they should MAKE IT so that they do.

Please start making sense back @ you. Thanks.

  • you know...not so long back, black people werent allowed to drink at the same fountains as whites...so there were two fountains...one for blacks and one for whites. They looked the same in most cases. I bet the water even tasted the same but ask the average black person how they feel about them today.

  • Wow you just contradicted yourself big time, you acknowledge that marriage changed to allow interracial marriage then you claim it never changed in thousands of years...do you read what you type? Marriage has changed NUMEROUS times, it used to be a property arrangement, treat women like shit, and have multiple wives as well as concubines...Do you think allowing interracial marriage was trying to be "PC" too? Wow such a bad thing to you isn't it

  • Oh, but it was (and still is in many places) a man of his own race, etc. You're not telling the truth. Never Was? What a crock. What are you 7?

  • Marriage also traditionally has you make a vow that you are together "til death do you part" meaning you should also be wanting divorce to be illegal.

  • Divorce used to be illegal. Who are you to "pervert" the tradition of outlawing divorce and treating women as property?

  • BarrackInsaneObama,

Religion has destroyed America. Religion has warped the minds of America and truly taken away the ability of people across the world to think freely. The most basic value of religion is "Love." Love everyone as you would love yourself. Religion has put a bunch of rules stating "how" and "who" to love, when all humans should be able to compute their own definitions of love.

  • then compute your own definition of love, but personally I don't want it contradicting MY definiton. lol. so Id still vote a no marriage cuz it isn't marriage

  • Love is a human emotion that most humans should be able to enjoy. It is truly caring for somewhere, regardless of their orientation, ethnicity, or background. All love is equal in the sense of intimacy. Being gay just means that a person loves people of the same sex the same amount, maybe more, as a straight person does to someone of the opposite sex.

  • well then compute your own definition of marriage because even if the dictionary changes the definition all because of the government giving gays marriage in a few random states just for trying to be PC my views still won't change because i was brought up that way. man + woman

  • A couple things. I am LINUX. Marriage is two humans that love each other. Notice I'm saying "humans." Lastly, I'm sorry you grew up conservative.

  • thats your perogative barrack...but your views have no right to influence how my life is lived.

  • Why the hell should people be treated differently by the government just to avoid offending you? Nobody's making you change your definition of love, but you don't have a right to impose that on me.

  • However, people such as yourself, probably do not have the mental capability to discover that all religion should be is love. Therefore, you just believe whatever the church tells you to believe. So I applaud in your ability to follow the crowd.

  • I'm not even religious so your logic is slightly skewed. I just follow tradition, not religion. not only the religious believe in marriage.

  • That doesn't help you, since following tradition is a lot dumber than following religion. Just because people do it for a long time doesn't mean it's a good thing. Again why did we abolish slavery, after all it's tradition, we've been doing it forever.
