I just love this car!!! I drove in one for the first time the other day! I couldn't believe what power it had. I have only heard that it is very slow, but when you get in and floor it, it can easily beat any normal car! LOVE IT! I want one! South Africa never got to see the first generation. Sad, but true!
I don't get it. There are plenty of family cars that are slower than the Prius, yet you continue to rip on "this lunchbox"? It's not meant to be a sports car or a precision track driving machine. It's a family car and it's made to be as easy as possible to drive and as economical as possible with plenty of advanced technology under it's easy-to-use interface. I really don't see why you would hate it so much. 10.8 seconds to 100 km/h is not a bad time for such a car.

Well those wooden shoes were perfect for the farmers who needed to overcome the fields of our wet and clay rich country. Wooden shoes are also a great source of income since many mainly American tourists just love to take a pair home, even if they are made in China ;-) Yes, unfortunately the skill of wooden shoe production is a craft that has long time ago gone lost... sad but true
Well it's not a sports car let that be said, but when you're lined up at the a traffic lights the Prius beats the average commuter without a fuzz! Also at higher speeds the electro motor gives an extra noticeable power boost to the car.
Thats actually true: the first 2 seconds the electric motor has this torque that pulls like a super car but then it just goes flat when the gas motor kicks in.
