sakonukon1316, please don't stop playing go because people criticize your camera and other nonsense. YouTube is full of mindless superiority like that. People who think and talk that way are not intelligent, just opinionated. Please rise above it and keep playing, and keep posting. With whatever camera you have.
Alright, let me clue you in. I did this tutorial...maybe, two years ago? And, I had only a few months under my belt. If you're going to pick fights, you can just f*ck off, because I hate people like you. First of all, I R NO NOOB U R A NOOB. Second of all, it was a cheap camera, and do you really expect a 13 year old to be able to buy a camera better than what I had? And third of all, I gave up Go a while ago. Oh, and one last thing. If I suck at go, why would you want to play against me? F
@lance1236451 Am I included in that NOOB comment? I believe I could play circles around you in go =P. Also they were just doing their best...shesh rude to people just because they messed up =/.
Jôseki must be executed in accordance with the GLOBAL situation on the board. That is, the stones in the jôseki must benefit all the other friendly stones on the board. Also, the player must know what exactly is desired from the Jôseki exchange. Sente, mutual sente, or gote? Corner territory or influence towards the center of the board? Jôseki are often a decisive part of the opening, so care must be taken when choosing a jôseki sequence.
diagonal approach to corner is very bad, allows hane at the head f twostones.... 1 point enclosure is bad. Knights enclosure does not secure corner. And you really shouldn't be giving a lesson, how do you not even remember the most basic joseki ever?
your video moves a lot, you must use a go program, like gGo, in IGS, or whatever kind of go program, it will be more pretty and clean, but good video, its a very good game, and all the people must know it
well not bad, i like to see more people getting interested =).but i have to say thatjoseki is even for BOTH players so diagnal approach is not recomended in the opening. as for the 2 knights move, you may not know this but playing the 3-3 is possible it just becomes a ko. so to secure takes 1 knights move and a diagnol on the other side. no it is not slow depending on timing =).
Just an addition to clarify something after all the strange posts I've seen here:
I mean all that as constructive criticism, and as something to provoke other (meaningful and to the point) replies by other viewers, I think what you're doing is great and It wasn't meant as anything negative about you or your Go ability.
Well the comments were by others and not by you, but just to be on the safe side, I just wanted to make that clear.
hey, i think that i ve seen u on kgs XD anyway. i agree. even though his moves wernt the best possible, i still think that its great that more people are getting interested in the game. and to all u who said what he did wrong, i would like to see a video of BETTER openings.
So 4-4 are played for influence initially, partly because it is not easy to use it for territory.
Later, you show a diagonal approach to the 4-4 corner, calling it a joseki. It's NOT! it's usually used as an example for a clear mistake beginners make (playing too closely).
It's a bad move: as black extends, he is strengthening a fourth line position, and since white was so close, he has to respond himself, so white is helping black secure a position which was not all that easy to secure.
So two knight's move enclosures from a star point (4-4) are bad, whether large or small knight's moves... The usual way to secure the corner completely after a knight's move (or a large knight's move) is by playing a diagonal from the other direction. This can lead to a pretty nice corner, but it took 3 moves! that's why it is usually considered inefficient (at least in the beginning) to make territory directly from a 4-4 corner.
This has direct bearing on another thing you go over. In a sec.
I never said knight's move enclosures from a 4-4 corner are bad, just that two!!! knight's move enclosures from a 4-4 corner are bad. There's a huge difference. If you want an explanation, I'll be happy to elaborate, but youtube's cap on message length makes this difficult. Send me your email if you want a more detailed explanation (which is really quite simple, it just takes a while)
Nice, though you show some incorrect moves and thinking there:
First of all, about the incorrect thinking, because that is what will help you the most:
You show 4-4 corners in the video, but keep talking about enclosing "territory". 4-4 corners aren't played for territory, they're played for influence.
From that, you can easily infer the sad truth about the enclosure you showed (4-4,small knight + large knight): It's very bad to enclose a 4-4 corner in this way. More on that later
cool video thanks for the upload. There's something i should point out, if black encloses the corner using a large knight's and a small knight's from hoshi (4-4), white can still invade from sansan (3-3)
Good work! Thanks for sharing your Go with the rest of our community!
Keep up your studies & we'll all improve together!
:o)
