re. 12 min mark. I was researching the Scottish budget and revenue wrt Independence the other day and found this wee blinder on the Scottish Gov website.

"The classifications used in PESA imply that Scottish residents are the sole beneficiaries of the expenditure associated with the Commonwealth Games, whilst all UK residents benefit equally from the expenditure associated with the London Olympics. This creates an asymmetry in the treatment of the expenditures associated with the two events."

@Venator70 What that means in financial terms is that the 2012 Olympics are being part funded by Scottish money (we're paying 9.2% of the total cost, in line with our overall share of public spending) but the Commonwealth games are coming solely out of the Scottish purse with nothing coming from other regions of the UK.

@ Freya most people in soctland speak english, welsh is more spoken to be honest, but the fact that they want to break away is going to mean a new flag.. and in fact could see wales break away and NI from what is now called the UK...
