It really looks & sounds like dances & drum cadences from the 1930's/40's; Add A big band & some zoot suits & i'd think i was at the Savoy. lol. Love this!
So why is it that white folks always like to claim shit for they low life selves? why can't they just go sit down and be white and live the hell with it cause they asses ain't gone get no more smarter than they think they already are. i tell you da mutha fuckin asses needs some chill pills for real cause da ain't doing me no fava by existing on this earth but makin it stank more and giving me a got damn headache!
They priest drew on the ground shapes of pyramids in an attempt to describe the land they were from. Pyramids can be found in Egypt and Sudan. For those who really know Egyptian history know that the royal bloodline in Egypt is that of the Nubians (Sudanese). Also, the Dogons talk about the Sirius star as their spiritual headquarters - the discussion of Sirius as a religion was only discussed in Ancient Egypt. Remember, I'm talking about the Dogon priest - not the common people of Mali.
" For those who really know Egyptian history know that the royal bloodline in Egypt is that of the Nubians (Sudanese)."
Egyptians do say their origins was from the south but where in the south? It might not be Nubia. Again the langauges don't match. Nubians spoke an Nilo-saharan language,Egyptians spoke an Afro-asiatic language.
Hello. Firstly, I'm don't get into utube debates. When I said the Dogons stated they were from East Africa, yes, Kenya, Tanzania, and Sudan are all East African countries. I don't need a lesson in geography. The Dogon priest have stated that they are NOT originally from Mali, and that they migrated from the East of Africa. NO African will ever say they are from Egypt, because Egypt is White man's name of the land. (cont)
What are you saying for greeks suckers when we build acropolis you where cannibals on the trees stop saying things for greeks we where the same time with dogons and they know greek people too pity the dont know english gays or amerikan chikens we helped to build piramids and so many piramids around the world we traveled first to america thats why some citys have names from greek language roots Try a big greek dick and then you will love us suckers bastards stealers you are nothing accept it
To Rumba3000. Where do think the Cuba conga comes from? Most Hispanics don't admit that their culture is a Afro-Spanish culture. In many cases, Puerto Ricans, Cubans, etc have more African elements in their culture than the average "Black American" culture(s). As stated already, the Dogons are one of only groups in West Africa that can trace their culture to the pyramids of Egypt. While common day Egyptians are foreigners who practice Islam.
CrowdPleeza: please note that ancient Egypt was conquered by Romans & other neighboring countries. During any type of conquest, the group that's running doesn't have time to stop 2 document their flight. The Dogon priest have always stated that they are from E. Africa. And yes, they speak in an African language not endemic 2 W. Africa. Many state that Dogons remind then of Arabs - based on the language. Their writing system is not like the ancient Egyptians, but they have similar symbols.
" The Dogon priest have always stated that they are from E. Africa."
Keep in mind that all humans originate in east Africa. The question is where exactly and at what point did they migrate? Egypt isn't the only area of east Africa. So when west Africans say they came from the east this could mean Kenya,Tanzania,Uganda etc. Also, the Dogon language still doesn't match the Egyptian language. Their language has more ties to surrounding Niger-congo languages.
I understand the Dogon people go back long before Greece "was" so how did they "borrow" from a culture that didn't exist at that time???
Stop thinking that first came Greece. The greeks were taught by Egyptians and their religion is based on Canaanite mythologies. So before Greece were many great civilizations.
watch the symbol on the head of the dancers(3-E like). It is the same symbol witnessed on UFOS, the same symbol behind the throne of ancient king Minos at Krete, the same symbol from the roswell ruins video, on the greek word "ΕΛΕΦΘ3ΕΡΙΑ"(freedom)
I'm making this comment in response to a comment you made on a video of a Dogon dance in Mali.
The symbol on top of this headress reminds me of Poseidon's trident.
I think the Dogon may have borrowed their creational ideaology from the greek myths of Poseidon and Nagas ( or 'mer-people'), and then integrated it into their own mythology.

In Dogon cosmology, creatures known as 'Nommos'- which are desribed in great detail through Dogon art, mythology, and oral traditions- were responsible for creating civilization on Earth.
They are described as "amphibious, hermaphroditic, fish-like creatures. The Nommos are also referred to as "Masters of the Water", "the Monitors", and "the Teachers".
"The Dogon legends state that the Nommos required a watery environment in which to live. According to the myth related to Griaule and Dieterlen: "The Nommo divided his body among men to feed them; that is why it is also said that as the universe "had drunk of his body," the Nommo also made men drink. He gave all his life principles to human beings."
you know before there were pharoahs there were nagas. Nagas is what was used as opposed to pharoah or king. That is where the term "nigger" was derived from. It is another word for god therefore it came before the egyptians and greeks. The greeks stoled from the egyptians but Kemet came first. Now the decendents of the original people are all over the americas. They are known as Garifuna.
no, dogon tribe rituals date far befor greece, but the whole headress came from the nommos, but they didnt borrow from greece, you that one backwards.....
Two masks used in this, the Kananga and the Walu mask, have to do with the supernatural world and restoring harmnony to the universe after a death. What's strange about this dance is the absence of stilted dancers. Also the wearers of the Kananga masks swing their heads around and tip them to scrape the ground. Perhaps there's more. Thanks for sharing. I agree, rahdeal.
We just stumble upon these dancers when we did a trekking into the Dogon valley. It's very interesting to read all the explanations about what we witnessed. Thank You.
@bullrooster Actually, three masks were used -- the Sim, Kanaga, and Bede masks. Sim masks look similar to Kanaga masks, and the Bede masks were probably the ones you thought were Walu. Stilted dancers were missing, yes, but so were many many many other types, including Satimbe, Samana, Dyommo, and Dyodyomini masks. I agree it was strange that the Kanaga dancers didn't perform their usual dance. It was probably a show for tourists and wasn't official.

@fnkdrmmr,
Did the Egyptians leave records of their migrations to west Africa?
Do the Dogon speak an Afro-asiatic language like the Egyptians?
Do the Dogon use the same or similar hieroglyhic writing system as the Egyptians did?
