You have to know WHAT to play to win. No wonder people play Tarmogryfs they are an amazing card but saying that everyone plays the same cards is bullshit. Ive been winning tournaments ever since with cards worth no more than about 200$
Most generalization isn't that it's ONLY the cards, it's just the fact that there are soo many cookie cutter decks. Like Jund and Naya in Standard, Jund was 30% of the last PT and Naya was prolly a decent number (never found out the number). But when the Finals matchup was Jund vs Jund and I think 3 Jund decks made it to top 8... it's kinda hard to argue with when people say " the same decks win".
That deck looks just like every other deck I've played against in the past year (except for Fae, of course).
Competitive magic doesn't even seem creative anymore - just throw 4 copies each of the best 9 rare spells allowed in the format and figure out the mana base to run it and that's it. Everyone plays the same stuff - it's boring.
Not really; Magic has such a high diversity there is always a way around any 'spam strategy'. What you said describes Yu-Gi-Oh precisely however. MTG is getting a little closer with each new expansion but I really don't think that it's there yet or will be in the near future.
But still, at any given tournament, I can be assured to only see 4, maybe 5 different decks to play against, and I know exactly which my opponent is playing from his very first land drop. I routinely call what spell my opponent is about to play based on the mana they have available. It's still predictable and boring.
I just beat GW tokens, and got Fae down to 1 life before getting shut out by Cryptic with a rogue deck that has only 2 rares in the whole pile...
If you don't want to spend any money at all, yeah not your game. If you don't mind spending some money - continuously, mind - and you appreciate the game mechanics and have people to play with it's great.
do you mean the price of the deck? because its kinda pricy because of reflecting pool and the other mana base cards but the rest not so much, i mean ... cryptic command of course but other than that its pretty budget
Was it just me or did the volume on his mic go to crap @ 1:01? After that i couldn't understand him for 30 or so secs. Personally i like this deck, seen it in action, played against it. Pretty good all around. Faeries are still winning ptq's everywhere. Not my choice, i play weave.
Dude, just because someone is an avid fan of something doesn't make them a geek. We as Americans do what we want and you can't judge anybody for their interests.
Obviously not....I played at least 11 games, quick 'n toast, piloted by a friend, who's an amazing player, lark by me, non red splashed, I didn't know wtf I was doing being my first time with lark, and It was still half and half for wins, like 6 him, 5 me or 7 him 4 me and like I said I had NO clue what was going on...
ZOMG looks like a amazing deck but so many people will play it, even though it requires a shit load of skill. All the card costs will stay the same tho. any way look forward for more info!
on the side of the slaughter and command is that shadowmore card that gives 3 damage to all creatures without flying if u pay red... and for flying if you pay green ...
8 vivid lands,4 reflecting pools and the land that you get r/g and your opp gains 1 life and some of the cavern lands. I'm just trying to figure out the card between cryptic command and slaughter pact
he's really cute :)

mdiem you suck. Even if you had the money you wouldnt win any tournaments because you lack the SKILL to play magic. Go home.

okay. whatever you say - and you should know since you've seen me play so often.
:: rolls eyes ::
Did you miss the part where I said that I beat 400-900$ decks with decks of my own design that have no more than 2-3 rare cards in it?
I'm not saying those pro decks aren't good, I'm saying that they are boring to play with and against.
SMD, troll.

My fellow Swedes did well (especially Öberg) with Tezzerator, which was pretty much rogue at PT Berlin. That was extended though.

9 rare spells that connect together it order to make a good deck.

The deck is expensive, if you don't want to spend any money and still want to win you should just quit magic tbh :/
