I've seen that chocobo forest in that continental forest before. But I've never really figured out how to get there, I don't think. Interesting to see that this "quest"... for one is even a quest (I thought the chocobos were only around for travelling), and to see that this quest ends with a reward. Though I don't think the reward is worth it.
As much as I love FF8, I have to agree that they went a little too far with the Shumi Village side quests in how much travel time is involved. It's probably my least favourite side quest of them all.
@OnyonKnight People who like the Angel Meteor trick for Rinoa, for example. Without meltdown, it does roughly 40K damage. With Meltdown, it increases to 60K per turn, free of charge. Add Haste into the mix, and you got yourself a murdering machine.
@doamaster08 Actually, Meltdown & Full-Life are both equal in terms of Vit-J. They both give Vit +80 (based on 100 spells). However, by junctioning Meltdown to Vit, it frees up Full-Life to be junctioned to something else, such as Sprirt (+85) or HP (+4800). Meltdown, on the other hand, is really only useful to junction to Vit.
The juction system is so powerful that allows you to beat the game without leveling up even once. A never leveled up character with proper juctions is easily more powerful than a juction-less level100. And I laughed at the 'But thou must' DW reference =)
At least the chocobos didnt show you their hand as their gift

9:20 THE PERFECT PARTY FOR MOTIVATION...HC...ARE YOU KIDDING ME...the only person you need to motivate them to work is Quistis...
Quistis: Will you work on the statue?
Attendant: Say that to me again but wear this outfit *holds up a sexy leather outfit*, carry your whip, and yell at me please...
*Later that day*
Quistis: WORK ON THE STATUE *Cracks whip into Attendants back*
Attendant: *screams in pain, but look on face says he is enjoying it* Oh baby...no I won't...*Quistis cracks whip again*
