Not only that, but several references and connections to the Classic series are made in the X series.

Actually, I think the remix itself is pretty good. Dangerous Mezashi Cat is actually comprised of several of the original composers for the Megaman games. I don't know if it's on Youtube anywhere, but they do a pretty mean remix of Snakeman's stage too.
