  • You should see how we ride our bike in Kuala Lumpur.. ^^

  • @kaiwoon

Well post up a video response and show us how you ride!

  • TRY biking in Philippines.. its more trilling..

  • @nemo1215

    All in good time Nemy

  • very engrossing videos! I love the music/ambience you put, it really sets a mood. Must be thrilling to ride in traffic like that.

  • @Frejborg

    Thanks

It sure was and is Frejborg :)

  • @stan364

In Bangkok it's pretty crazy not to wear one, the cops will have you sooner rather than later in the capital city...

  • @stan364

In Bangkok it's pretty crazy not to wear one, the cops will have you sooner rather than later in the capital city...

  • Loved it! The CBR 400's sound and Bangkok's roads, love 'em both! I could almost feel the hot humid air.

  • @dbanik

    You know it bro'!

  • its good that car drivers are more or less respective to bikers...

  • Yep, thats an ordinary day in BKK.

Try riding with a motorcycle taxi, a near death experience.

  • It's worth noting that riding a bicycle (as opposed to a motorbike) is probably unwise in bKK

  • WOW! I would be holding on so tight! I have never seen traffic like that! "*_*"

  • @deedeeelenz

This might sound crazy but you do get used to it, although my first time in Bangkok traffic was a baptism by fire...

It's not pleasant doing this as a daily commute, but occasionally isn't too bad. You should always wear a charcoal lined mask though, they still use aesbestos-lined brake-pads in Thailand!

  • @sthlmsouthchapter

Thanks, yeah Thailand still has it's magic.

Not been to Sweden yet, sometime in the future maybe...

  • how s that bangkok looks sooooo wealthy ??

  • @udical

Yeah, times change man. Thailands up-and-coming on the Asian scene once more.

  • @WatchRyder wonderfull, how much teacher in highschool earns?

  • @udical

In the provinces it's about 30k baht a month for high school.

    For Bangkok, about 40k - 60k a month.

  • @WatchRyder that s great, 60000 is more than in Italy - member of socialistic EU BORG hole, wonderful western commie propaganda here

  • @udical

Yeah, Italy's not the worst EU country though, some suffer more than others.

In Italy you've still got some rights I think.

  • @WatchRyder of course there are worse here at me in Croatia average salary is 900$, in west elite are now trying to protect them self against people via controlled socialism and high taxes and in china via controlled capitalism... meaning globalist enslavement, Thailand seems to have its own traditional agenda

  • This is why you should get a bike instead of a car when in Thailand lol

  • Lived in Thailand for a while , traffic jams on Suhcomvit Road are Legendary... drove a Chevy diesel van from Maisie( way up north Thai-Lao- Burma border) to Bangkok in 10 hrs ... at night..

  • It is getting ridiculously funny after a while. I actually live next to Taksin Bridge and I have been doing that route a thousand times on my 1000cc.. It is always a pleasure in rush hour! I've filmed it, but in a different speed though;) Cheers

  • @ThunderofBkk

    Thanks, TB!

Yeah this video was a one-off groove as I was travelling through Bangkok at the time.

I was loaded to the max with a tank-bag, back-pack and twin saddle-bags so I didn't want to throttle up too crazy... :)

You have the 1000cc bike now? Cool. I've been tempted with getting an old school GSX 1100 that's going for sale for about 150,000 baht. But we'll have to see.

How much did you pay for yours?

  • @WatchRyder Bangkok traffic is awesome:) Driving a big bike here is better work out than going to the gym!

I've got a 2009 zx-10r which I paid 650k for at the kawasaki dealer (same price as my home county so I was happy with the deal).. the R1 goes for 870k so it is a bargain:)

Getting an old school GSX1100 for 150k sounds great and IMO you should go for it.. just have a second look at the paperworks so it is legit..

Nice meeting you here on youtube:)

    Cheers

  • I was just waiting for something horrible to happen! Lol, lots of fatalities caused by this.

  • @tim12161974

It was cool man, all was well :D

  • @WatchRyder You just be careful doing that! Seen riders around here get killed.

  • @tim12161974

It's cool man, in Bangkok the normal rules are crazy, so actually going to the wire *actually* can work in your favour. But it's if you make a habit of it that you can become unstuck...

I'm out of that groove for now man.

  • So cool man. But i m scared to ride a bike. BTW, are bikes allowed in highways or expressways in Thailand?

  • @seuquin

    On highways, yes.

    On expressways, no.

I've managed to sneak onto one once successfully but if you get caught and there's an expressway policeman there you'll be fined and turned around.

  • Gotta love bikes for this reason!

    fuck you traffic! hahaha

got myself a little two stroke aprilla rs 125 myself. good little bike and damn fast for such a small motor.

  • @nuttyape

    Good on you mate.

Those 2 strokes are gutsy little things and have a lot of character.

  • Probably safer than Bangkok riding but make sure you glove up mate.

  • and I thought Atlanta traffic was bad!

  • Wow, not a lot of room for error man. Gotta be a little bit of a rush huh?

  • @Cr0cket20

    There's a fine margin.

Not a rush really, just going with the flow and enjoying the buzz :)

  • That is just INSANE, your heart must have been pumping like crazy ? Half of the times i would'nt know what to do, other than stop, which i believe would just create more chaos :)

  • It was a bit on certain areas.

It's quirky but you go on auto-pilot a bit and just try and 'zone-in' to what's going on around you.

The only dangertime is usually doors opening on the inside lane and other bikes pulling out between jammed up traffic.

  • Some more 'moves' for you Manialt ;)

    watch?v=qmbKXekpWR8

  • It would be nice to have a bike during the 5:00 traffic cuz it gets pretty horrendous here(Nashville, TN). But, one would have to be careful because the police would be waiting somewhere in the mess to give you a big ticket. Still, it would be nice:)

  • Life is nice on two wheels!

  • What kind of bike were you riding in this video??

  • CBR 400.

  • CBR-150 is the best bike in BKK and Pattaya and places like that in my opinion...The mobility on that little bumble bee is absolutely superb

  • Very nice. I have always wanted to ride a big bike through traffic in asia. I did that a lot on a scooter in Taiwan, but I'm curious what that would be like on a big bike.

  • It's ok once you are used to it, but as an every day event I wouldn't advise it. You'd get tired and lose the passion for biking.

I know big biker riders in Bangkok who usually ride big cc scooters in the city, and big bikes for outside.

Having said that riding through bangkok to get elsewhere is cool on a big bike :)

  • I thought 400's would be great to start on with regards to sport bikes although 600's are good beginner bikes too. My first sports bike was the 2007 CBR 600RR and I was confident on it within about an hour.

A true testament to Japanese technology. This is why I have always owned Jap bikes and despite liking the sound of Duke engine I am hesitant to switch...

  • I like it, this is what BKK is all about. I tend to ride a little faster. I am going to make a video of me doing it at high speed,

  • CBR 400......I used to have one of those when I was a kid. Perfect bike for BKK. Great ride. I'm envious! Looking forward to getting up north to go play in the mountians after the new year. Chang Mai to Mae Sot here we come. Yippy!

  • Nice video. There is nothing like Bangkok traffic in the morning, noon or night.

    Cupertino, Ca.

  • Hey WR, T_Dog here! Nice video. It is pretty tame though, as you didn't have many bikes or sidecars coming at you like we do often here in Chiang Mai. I'll try to take some video during rush hour and post. Great job of timing the traffic slots WR!

  • Thanks.

Look forward to seeing the video.

I've sent you a message with a link on it :)

  • Only a matter of time before someone loses concentration, doesn't check a mirror or fiddles with a stereo knob and pulls into you. Simple percentage game.

  • Live free or die man. Lifes full of challenges, and the human factor is just one of them...

  • My folks went out to Thailand a few years ago and the told me about the bikers there. They were amazed that there were no crashes :)

I agree....I have broken bones on bikes although it doesn't put me off. The truth is that for me...bikes are an escape from the stresses of everyday life. 400's are no longer sold in the UK nowadays. It's to do with our license system which takes away their commercial value.

  • Is there a size limitation on bikes in thailand? cause I would really love to go there for awhile but my bike is a cbr 600 stunt piece. an Can you give a vid of your cbr400? Don't think I have ever seen one,not something we have here in USA

  • No size limit. The only limit is your wallet.

A CBR 400 Video can be found by browsing my channel. It's on there.

  • NIce Job, now I know why I live in Loei!!!

  • omg i understand why people would want too ride a bike in bangkok! it would take hours if u were in a car at the back of the que. btw mate are these 50ccs?

  • Camera Bike - CBR 400

Bike in Front - Triumph Speed Triple.

The rest are a mix of 100 - 125cc scooters.

  • @WatchRyder and small pick-up truck too.

  • Dang, biking like that amidst a bunch of Asian drivers takes gonads!

  • nice video. gives you a good insight of riding a big bike in bangkok.

well done and also like the background music

  • so ive noticed we are an endangered species

  • I envy you now :-) And as mentioned: brave. Looks like we have the same ideas when it comes to driving, pushing your bike through the trafick but in a safe and efficient way. Might look more scary than it actually is. I really look forward to february and the 7 months after that, I miss my bike. Thanks for the upload.

  • i agree with madbiker! very brave nice vid what camera do you use?

  • Tachyon XC with a customised tank-mount (imported from Germany)

  • brave my man very brave

  • You've just gotta go with the flow and see what's next :D

  • so i see ;D

    london traffic nothing on this
