  • Evidently this Stickers (Telluride, Co) was relocated soon after this, because he was "humanized". This was the first time this photographer came across him. He was already depending on humans for food. Fortunately or unfortunately, he was not looking elsewhere for food. It was also learned that local residents were killing, yes, killing, "nusance" porcupines because the porcupines were known to eat the salty tasting cedar off their homes.

  • Although very cute, and sweet. hugging a porcupine is not advised. But there is nothing against telling them they are loved.

  • So why doesn't anybody hug him? I saw the previous video of him in a home where a lady (with gloves) was petting him, being very affectionate. He looks quite neglected in Alaska.

  • @Innamoramento9

They're two different porcupines. Stinkers lives in Alaska - he was a pet originally named Snickers.

Stickers lives in Telluride, Colorado and had gotten habituated to humans. He was relocated to another area in February 2010.

In any case, they are both great little guys, and I hope they live long and happy lives...

  • Porcupines are nocturnal and they eat trees! he thinks you're all treeans from lord of the rings.. He's saying "Oh Treeans please give me your godly food! it's so bright I must be in heaven!" If people stopped feeding him he'd just pass out and go eat a tree at night like he's made too :)

  • You're an idiot. It's because of people like you feeding him human food that caused his relocation.

  • That`s great! I like this animal. Seems I`d never seen before...in switzerland we have "Murmels" and others...
