I had the ebony blade maxed out and beat him in under a minute. Bethesda needs to take some lessons in game design. They know how to make beautiful worlds, but when it comes down to it all you really do in Skyrim is fight with an incredibly lacking combat system and turn around pillars. This battle alone is a perfect example of their incompetence of making an actual video game. Skyrim is little more than a beautiful sandbox with a bunch of shallow redundant tasks.

im fighting alduin on top of the "throat of the world" mountain, i can barely see him when he goes high into the sky so i cant hit him with dragonrend. He just flies around hitting me with fire balls that take down NO health, so basically im just standing around looking stupid.

@jappamogo That is because if you fight Alduin at lvl 38 he will also be lvl 38, if you fight him a lvl 8, he will also be lvl 8.

@jappamogo If you use ice based magic, the guard is a hell of a lot easier, because he relies in close-range power attacks.

A ranged combat character with Unrelenting Force completely owns him.

It's so fucking easy to kill Alduin. I killed him in like 2 minutes. I was lvl 36, had restoration and a one handed sword (the one that sucks 30 HP from dragons) and I was playing on adept. And no, I didn't want to raise the difficulty, because it was challenging me enough through the game. This fight was just annoying and disappointing and he doesn't even drop something.

I found Oblivions story to be better than Skyrims, the dragons didn't seem much of a threat compared to the daedra. The daedra managed to do more damage and had people living in fear with those oblivion gates everywhere.

Anyone played Dragon Valor, the PSX game by Namco? I thought of Skyrim as the prequel to that game. The nostalgia boner made this game so gaddamn epic. The final boss is kinda the same. Getting to Alduin was more difficult then fighting Alduin.

you can kill alduin without using a single potion

all you have to do is use dragonrend then stand right in front of alduin and just keep attacking

this method works because alduin doesnt use shouts if you are right next to him and his chomp attack does poor damage

but just avoid his tail cuz it can stun and he will fly away

What I found that really sucked was the fact that they didn't show much when we were suppose to ride the dragon to go to the final stage. I was waiting to see us ride through Skyrim( which woud've been awesome) on the back of the Dragon and they just cut it short and went right a way to a loading. THAT SUCKED BIG TIME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

They didn't even have the decency to make the characters realize world changes in their speech. Everyone still acts as though everything is the same, no congrats from ending the war or the dragons, kinda cheap if ya ask me... You quest all that time and it's a small chat after it let me down.

Im a Nord Beserker (Nord with Two Handed weapon/Heavy armor) it was easy to do everything cause with two handed weapons you kill everything in like 2 hits or 1 if its an easy target.
