  • Love the comments about my Grandfather, Hughie Gallacher. He should have been on there without doubt

  • Did you record the music for this inside a tin of baked beans?

  • I would have Hughie Gallagher somewhere up there his goal ratio was excellent

143 goals in only 174 appearances

  • Agree that Gallagher should be on the list. Milburn should be higher on the vid's list, IMO; especially since he won 3 FA Cups w/The Toon. Who was greater between Milburn & Shearer is tough 2 call. They really were 2 diff. types of forwards, especially the version of Shearer that we got during most of his career w/Newcastle.

  • if it wasn't 4 ww 2 then the best scorer i think would be albert stubbins. His strike record for nufc was 109%

  • all of these players are shit and shows what a small worthless club u r

  • ROFL ROFL ROFL ROFL ROFL

  • You need to take out Mira from your list & Tino n'all (cos he was capable of greatness but blew hot & cold). Beardsley is without doubt the best united player of the last 30 years, so he goes in as does Hughie Gallagher.

Then change the order to be as follows:

    Shearer

    Milburn

    Beardsley

    Gallagher

    Ferdinand

...and then you'll be on the right lines (although Ferdinand being included is debatable). Great player, but top 5 all time toon striker? Not certain by any means if you ask me.

  • how was beardsley better than shearer.

  • Well IMO

Shearer = better striker (he's higher in my list of best Toon strikers ever).

    BUT

Beardsley = better all-rounder. Shearer was past his best most of his time at Toon cos of injury, but we had Beardsley for 2 brilliant spells as youngster then under KK as the complete player and pro. Don't get me wrong I think Shearer was magic and it was a privilege to watch a master at work when he played but IMO Beardsley was more than a striker. For every one he scored he made 2 or 3 for others.

  • so at his best was shearer better than beardsley plus shearer was the complete attacker as well he was not just a great goalscorer.

  • ROFL I've answered this once already.

Of the two, Shearer was the better striker, but IMO Beardsley was the better all round player.

  • what made peter better and don't say he created more did peter have more ablity than shearer.

  • he had more ability.

he had more to his game than scoring goals.

he wasn't past his best when he was at toon.

    he created more.

  • i never said shearer or beardsley if your talking about him were past there best when they came to newcastle.

  • Mirandinha you must be joking he couldnt tie Beardsley's or Ginola's shoe laces!

  • hope there not in order as alan shearer is the best striker we have ever had not just for goalscoring but ablity also.

  • well....really milburn is the top goalscorer if it wasnt for WW2

  • yes i know but shearer was a better player than milburn i have spoken to a guy on youtube who saw both he says shearer was a better allround player.

  • true... but most footballers nowadays is more physical than the older days

for instance.... if you looked at andy carrol and milburn play next to each other , you would see that carrol is more toughened up.

milburn is not to the football they play as today , but if milburn WAS playing to the modern football , it would be a tough call to compare milburn to shearer

    understand??

    PS

Did anyone see the toon play stoke ,

    wasnt a good result!!

  • football was touger back in milburns day plus you go on fact and that is that people who saw both rate shearer the better player.
