  • @MrDragonmate the movie is based of this

  • there should be more

  • how have seind the move

  • so is the movie after this or brotherhood some one tell me plz

  • how come Ed has a mechanical arm in Munich but in Amestris when he was resurrected he had his actual arm. Also how come he woke up in Munich this time instead of in London like last time he went beyond the gate.

  • ....TT^TT WHY?!

  • Holy shit a little kid just got strangled to death on screen. This show kicks ass.

  • @LuckySharm ikr i luv this show yahooo!!!! i have there show name on my laptops screen thats how much i luv it!!

  • O.O my face throughout the entire episode. OH GOOD LORD WHY!!!??? >_<,

  • no...NO THIS CANT BE THE LAST EPISODE D: even know en is in are world o.o no no no no we would be way to dead by know in 2012 T_T >:U there better be more episodes! ed... WHY Al WHY RFGEGWEGWEg

  • @inuyashafantiger Fullmetal Alchemist: Conquest of Shambella. Watch it. Sums it up nicely, however, i do think that it would be better as episodes 52-60, in order to give it more time to spread out the plot and allow the audience to digest what they saw, it seems a bit packed as is, but what can you do...

  • Ok seriously...this episode shows just how B.A. Mustang really is!! This episode made me bawl like a little baby!

  • NO....MUSTANG!

  • Comment removed

  • I hate Al more than Envy really. He never learns, and it's pointed out in Brotherhood that he is vain, pointing out that he obviously looks better than his brother and is better as a human (Which isn't even true! He isn't even as good at alchemy! people say the soul thing is what did it, but isn't Ed better like when he moved the giant statue at the beginning when he fought the priest? Just as good if not better than soul-binding.)

  • This sucked....I'm going back to Brotherhood.

  • @NinjaStarz718 Brotherhood can't ever beat this.

  • @NinjaStarz718 this is better T_T shows more feelings

  • This made me cry.

  • 1. when Ed started to cry outside the gate i started BAWLING!!!

    2. even though i do feel sorry for envy because he was abandoned by Hohenheim I CAN NEVER FORGIVE HIM for killing Ed!! even if Ed is still alive on the other side of the gate now he and Al now have to go through a whole bunch of stuff just to get back together >.< dammit! i hope where ever envy is it's filled with unspeakable agony!

    3. that was a tragic ending.

  • @pinkcookie409 you do know the story continues with a movie the movie is called fullmetal alchemist conquer of shamballa you should check it out.Thumbs up so people can see this isnt the end.

  • @pinkcookie409 It wasn't the end of fullmetal alchemist. there's a movie called conquer of shamballa.

  • does anyone know what happens after the last episode where ed is on earth and al is got his body back but dosent remember anything of the last 4 years is there anymore episodes

  • DAMN THIS EPISODE IT MADE ME CRY MY LOVES ROY,AL,ED JUST WAIT YOU BROTHER HOOD YOU BETTER END UP BETTER

  • Russian song at the start of 14:29

  • @F1NGE Well they did say you never know what time you're going to be put in so maybe Envy went to a time where dragons might've existed, although that was just my first thought when I saw that

  • I wanted to skip the intro, but seeing as how this is the last episode, I thought I should hear it at least once ;)

  • @LyingPrauses it continues with the movie...

  • Oh... My... God... *sniffles* I seriousely want to bawl like a baby. Is this it? I mean Brotherhood is from the beginning closer to the manga... So this is all there is? ENDING THE SERIES ON A CLIFFHANGER!!! It's cruel enough to end an episode like this!!! BUT THE SERIES!!!!

  • @pokecrazygal Is the brotherhood ending better?

  • @Fullmetalpizza I haven't seen Brotherhood yet, sorry. I just heard from a friend that it starts from the beginning.

  • @Fullmetalpizza Well, what you would consider to be an improvement to the ending of Conqueror of Shamballa, which is the true ending to this story, let alone the ending of this episode? Because the ending is different, I can tell you that much.

  • @pokecrazygal Brotherhood ends completely different too this.

  • @AJboy700 good to know.

  • @pokecrazygal Oh, just watch Conqueror of Shamballa. It resolves the cliffhanger and gives a much more conclusive ending to this story. Will it satisfy? Watch it and find out. THEN watch Brotherhood.

  • @immblueversion Thanks. :) Will do

  • Envy turned into Shenron!

  • in german was easer for me

  • Okay, so seriously...when Mustang was on the ground I seriously thought he was dead and started bawling like a baby...my roommate looked at me like I was insane!

  • Last episode, and I haven't had one that didn't have any ads *sniffle* maybe I should just get the DVD

  • I have seen this anime 10 times and yet i cry at the end every time...

  • Funny how the real ending to this version of Fullmetal was in the movie Conqueror of Shamballa.

  • @Onishiko ye but this ending is far better than the movies ending, the ending of teh movie is shit...

  • ....My stomach/chest hurts... (Currently channeling pain from prev. Episode)

  • its science my friend study it,learn it, and dicover it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • be strong this is just anime this is just anime nooooo im crying !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! its time for fullmetal alchemist brotherhood !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I cried sooo hard and still am he can't die

  • This... isn't the end, is it? Other than Brotherhood and the movies, I mean. Is this the end of this series?

  • @SukItPplz Yup, that's it. haha

  • @SukItPplz @gus0509 No.

Watch the movie Conqueror of Shamballa. THAT is the end of THIS series.

THEN watch Brotherhood, and maybe Sacred Star of Milos if you wish (you won't regret it). Unless you already have.

  • 7:39 Good bye, cruel cruel world!

  • I have watched brotherhood like 5 times and all the movies

  • Haha it has been a few years since I re watched this

  • should i watch brotherhood now, or is there something else related to this that i should see first??

  • @blazingangel623 :O watch brotherhood! its the best thing everrrrrrrr, what you waiting for!!

  • is this it... disappointing ending but great series!

  • FTW FMA!! BEST ANIME EVER

  • So should I see Brotherhood? Or will it be dissapointing compared to this?

  • @xLexC7x NOPE! It will be better... BUT watch the movie for this one First Ok ;D

  • Al finally grew up and sacraficed it all for his bro...

  • Man this show is so awesome but now that i seen the each episode of the first season. I'm wanting more about how they turn out. I know that Al got his body back but ed is stuck in the real world "london". Do they ever get to reunite with there full forms ever again? Does Ed's dad help him find a way back to the alchemy universe with Al. Is there a movie that sums up the rest of the show. IDK but i really want to see more. I like Fullmetal Alchemist: Brother hood but its a alternate series.

  • @DeviantScar You have to see the movie next! Conqueror of Shamballa

  • I WANTED TO CRY SO BAD.

    BE STRONG

    BE STRONG...

    Nope. /stars crying

    I miss my Ed-Kun TT^TT

  • @PurplemacncheezX3 Well, considering he appears in all but two episodes out of a 64-episode TV series, two movies, and at least six OVAs, I don't think you have to worry about not spending more time with your Ed-kun for a while. Just remember to, you know, savor it while it lasts. Unless you've already seen it all.

  • so where is envy? and Dante?

  • @jisungyu2 dante got eaten

  • 6:03 Alas, poor Yorick!

  • WHY AL! WHY! TELL ME WHYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY

  • " Just shut up and eat. "

    I died!

  • i dont get it, why does envy turn into a dragon, it makes no sense, or have i missed something?

  • I got so depressed. But I'm pissed Winry and the others didn't have a sad reaction to it. Oh, Al's dead because he sacrificed himself for his brother. That's too bad. Oh hey look a bird!

  • :')

  • WTF so sad...

they should just make a happy ending for those ( most) of us who don't like seeing sad shit happen. I mean in between, that was great- but we are left with this- all four years forgotten by al, al and end forever apart.

yeah sure, it would be great IF it was released in 1912. but in 2012, we just know outpace is a vast amount of nothing D:

  • Umm..what just happened? not okay...

  • D': this makes me cry like a baby. and i've watched it 3 times...

  • that asshole he killed his own child

  • I never thought that i would cry with this series even though i had heard how the series ended but for the last few episodes i grew even more attached to the characters to the point where i felt like i really knew them, even though this wasn't the true ending to Fullmetal Alchemist it was still a great ending. Now onto Brotherhood!

  • ATTENTION I HAVE SOME IMPORTANT INFO FOR THOSE WHO WANT MORE. I CASE YOU DIDN'T KNOW THERE IS A SEQUEL TO THIS AND ITS CALLED

Fullmetal Alchemist Movie: The Conqueror of Shambala

  • This whole season was awesome

  • @OJC187 Fullmetal Alchemist Movie: The Conqueror of Shambala its a sequel to this

  • im bout to fuckin cry so damn emotional

  • Everybody who wants too see what happens next, look up FullMetal Alchemist: Conquerer of Shambala

  • Is it over now? ;( WAAAAAAAAH

  • aw...can i just say mustang+ hawkeye =cutest thing evar..anyway Best anime in the world end of story kthanxbye

  • man I was hoping it would be longer but really enjoyed it but I wonder what happened to envy

  • dammit jersey say yes to the dress!! i was about to cry!!

  • Huh, what do you know, they ended up in Germany. Somehow that seems like the weirdest thing of all in the whole series.

  • 43 16 27 and 25 of this anime were the gut wrenching episodes in this anime for me. Thank you Ed and Mustang for changing my perspective on lives values

  • I love Brotherhood's ending more ;n; THIS IS TO SAD FOR ME!! TT^TT

  • So sad ending

  • I seriously do not understand the people who say this is an awful ending! I think it's just beautiful. I didn't even watch the movie until a good year and half after first finishing the series, and I still felt this gave me closure. it doesn't have to end perfectly, isn't that what they've been trying to tell us?

  • there is still a episode its the movie (fullmetal alchemist the conquerer of shambala)

  • There's things from this plot and the plot from Brotherhood that I would like to combine, but they definitely wouldn't merge in harmony. Such different stories!

  • TO THE MOVIE!

  • Wow, what a well thought out anime... I just came here from watching Death Note, believing that was the best anime ever, but I reckon this is a strong contender! I even studied Robert H. Goddard in my Physics class, I was pleasantly surprised to see a fraction of non-fiction in this great fantasy tale. The ending really gives the audience something to think about, like maybe there is another world out there >>> ? XD AMAZING

  • This series was not driven by plot or attempt to give a resolution and cliche endings.

From Episode 1-51 this show has been about the plight of the Elric brothers, the trauma of losing the mother, abandoned by their father, hurting and nearly killing each other, and defiling the memory of loved ones. (Homonculi).

This series strong message was to persevere and to paraphrase Alphonse, make efforts to restore a dream, even if it wasn't what is expected. It's realistic

  • @chanter50

for people not to get what they want, but to persevere and to understand nothing is perfect, but existence itself is beautiful.

The Elric brothers had learned not to exist in their own reality in CoS, they had learned to use their talents to benefit others, not focus on a goal geared towards themselves.

The conclusion to FMA doesn't wrap up things in a bow, but it gives you a story that is profoundly moving and touching. It's a story about love and faith

Listen to Al's narrative @ end

  • Everyone, the series is over but there is a movie sequel. It takes place literally right after this ending, the whole movie centers around them trying to find each other. It ends the story, so if you dont want to be completely annoyed about the ending, you can watch part 1 here.

    /watch?v=PVMnEcJebcM

  • god damnit.....cant....ssttoopp...ccrryyiinnnggg!!! brilliant ending, idc if it wasnt following the manga, I just wish Rose and Ed would have ended up together :(

  • THIS IS SUCH A CRAPPY ENDING. D-

    ...

Anyone else notice the similarities between Edward and Cloud Strife? xD

  • thumbs up if you

Screamed at the screen when we thought Mustang was dead

Yelled at Hawkeye for not getting there sooner

Actually said "NO! Dam it Roy, get up! YOU CANT DIE!" T.T

Felt like you couldnt give a fuck about the rest of episode because beloved Mustang was dead

Cried through the entire rest of the episode because Roy was dead

Cried even more when we knew he was alive

Thought the ending was sad but didnt care. Roy was alive and he was happy with hawkeye

Did all of the above XD

  • This is such a happy ending, though! For as long as Mustang still lives, there will still come a day...

When all females officers will be required to wear...

    TINY MINISKIRTS!

  • @LCarlan47 but u haven't seen the movie yet have u?

  • @Wolftimber101 No. Why, what happens?

  • @LCarlan47 I can't tell u tht, cause I don't support spoilers =3

but I can tell u that u should go ahead and watch it... its free on here and its a follow up to this series... its called The Conqueror of Shamballa and don't worry it has a dub version xD

  • @LCarlan47 I read this before watching the episode and all the way through I was laughing becuase of this one comment XD

  • LAST EPISODE NOW I WILL WATCH BROTHERHOOD HOORAYY!!

  • POWER

  • If only brotherhood was really that strong.

  • kk, BROTHER HOOD TIME LETTSS GOO GUYS

  • guys this isn't sad because in conquer of shamballa it shows what happens after and if al goes to eds world or ed goes to als world

  • OH THE TEARS

    THEY WONT STOP

  • now it's time for BROTHERHOOD!!!

  • @AngelOfTheGoddess no conquer of shamballa trust me it shows what happens after this

  • This ending SUCKED!!!!!! T-T I feel like crying like Wrath does...

  • D; so good but so sad

  • Equivalent exchange:my toe for my brothers body.

  • The conquer of Shamballa is the conclusion to this season. You can watch it on Youtube too.

  • I just dont understand why in brotherhood people who had died in this are living Im kind of lost... but by far brotherhood is better 100%

  • @AliFinNoble nope, brotherhood was way over the top for me. I like the original better. Had a story that dragged when it came to the Ishbalan war, but other than that was great. Brotherhood without a doubt should have had 100 episodes. Fitting all that in 60 episodes was crap. The final battle in Brotherhood was among the most anticlimactic in ANY anime. Father gets what he waned, then gets turned back to a mortal in less than 20 minutes. -_- The original had soul, Brotherhood had the body.

  • @shazzaforeverthabest tbh, that's why I think the manga is still superior to Brotherhood - it went on for as long as was necessary to tell the storyline in full, as opposed to trying to cram a bunch of events into a fixed number of volumes, or just straight-up leaving out parts of the story entirely.

  • @shazzaforeverthabest I respectfully disagree. The first one didn't even really end it just stopped. It was like the animators just got bored and decided not to do any more. Brotherhoods animation was way better! The first ones story was hard to fallow and didn't explained anything it was slow and uninteresting to me. At least brotherhood had a really ending. And a good one if you ask me!

  • What's the song that plays at 6:03

  • al's back a ed's gone it makes no fn sense

  • If you look closely enough, you'll find that the 1st anime has a hell of a lot of VERY similar plot points to that of the manga/Brotherhood. in the manga, all of Amestris is a giant transmutation circle; in the 1st anime, the city of Lior is a transmutation circle. By the end of the manga, Mustang ends up sacrificing his sight in order to further his political agenda; in the 1st anime, he becomes blind in only one eye.

  • In the manga, there's the Gate of Truth, while in the 1st anime it's called the Gate of the World. Both containin all the power & information of the entire planet (perhaps even the entire universe), and both are the source of all alchemic power. In the manga, it's simply a doorway leading to enough information & power to make one into a god; in the 1st anime the Gate is a portal between the FMA dimension and our own world (hence why Ed & Hohenheim can't use alchemy on our side of the Gate).

  • Then there's the villians; Dante in the 1st anime seeks to create a true Philosopher's Stone to gain immortality. In the manga, the original Homunculus aka Father aims to transmute the people of Amestris into a Philosopher's Stone to become a god. Both are the creators of the homunculi of the 7 deadly sins in their respective series, and they both created a true Philosopher's Stone in co-operation with Hohenheim, centuries before the start of their respective series.

  • As for the homunculi: in the manga they're made from 7 parts of Father's personality with imperfect yet very powerful Philosopher's Stones at their core. Reason why they can't die because their stones are powerful enough to immediately heal their wounds after taking hits.

  • In the 1st anime, the homunculi are stand-ins for a dead person that an alchemist tries to resurrect. They start out as a disfigured mess, but assume the form, personality (and eventually, memories) of the dead person by eating imperfect Philosopher's Stones. They can't die because they're filling in for whoever it is the alchemist tried to resurrect, and since life only flows in one direction...

  • Even the conclusion to Ed & Al's cause is similar between the two series. In the manga, Ed uses his own portal of truth (thus giving up his ability to use alchemy) as material to bring Al's body back from the Gate of Truth. Also in the 1st anime, Ed gives Al his body back, but at the cost of all the time, experience & memories the two brothers share together - hence why Al loses much of his memory after getting his body back, and why Ed gets sent to our world through the Gate of the World.

  • The reason why the 1st anime's plot is so different from the manga/Brotherhood is because Hiromu Arakawa specifically requested it to be different; she was still working on the manga around the time the 1st anime was being made. After she finished it, then that's when Brotherhood was made, to follow the plot of the now-completed manga. Both the 1st anime and Brotherhood are honestly great in their own ways, despite being two completely different plotlines.

  • Also, Conqueror of Shamballa is the true final episode of the 1st anime. It takes place about two years after episode 51.

  • noooooooooooo they were supposed to be back to normal and live happily ever after at the end!

  • This series has its own storyline while brotherhood follows the manga

  • Does Ed go to the other world is FMAB? T___T *i'm crying, how pathetic...*Y___Y

  • sad face IRL! this is howyou kill a series :( killing Al sad face

  • bull funination when to fmab after an ending like that!!! they could have made a great series that could have been just as good if not better. but i get why they never expanded on that ending it would have been too confusing. sad face - _-

  • 1:40 Why do they hobble like that?

  • When Chezca asked about Ed in her letter me and Winrey frownd at the same time.

  • Ed: *crying* Al?

You wanna save money on car insurance?

  • Man, this is so confusing to me because I watched Brotherhood first, Conquerors of Shamballa, and then FMA. Someone tell me the order in which they go in please! And I think I'm missing something in between CoS and Brotherhood (or not).

  • @Logrunner1 CoS is after FMA and Brotherhood.

Brotherhood is the the same as FMA but it follows the manga better. There is still some information left missing though.

  • @Logrunner1 the right way is the opposite of what you did. This anime comes before CoS, and then Brotherhood is something else entirely. Brotherhood follows the plotline in the original Full Metal Alchemist manga, whereas this anime follows a completely original storyline. In my opinion, this anime far surpasses brotherhood because of its music, the superb acting, and the superior plotline, but to each his own.

  • @Logrunner1 Well, FMA and FMA Brotherhood are sort of unrelated. Brotherhood is more complacated and has a different ending, personally I recomend watching this one first, then Conqueror of Shambala, witch is the movie to this series. Then watch Brotherhood. So, basicly, watch it in the reverse order that you did and it will make more sense. And don't think of FMA and Brotherhood as one story.

  • @Logrunner1 FMA and CoS go together. CoS takes place 2 years after FMA. Brotherhood is in no way related to FMA or CoS. It starts off the same, but Brotherhood directly follows the manga while FMA has an original storyline about halfway through. So the ending to Brotherhood is how Hiromu Arakawa(the creator of FMA) intended it to be/the legitimate ending, and the ending to the first FMA series is made by the writers for the show, and not by Arakawa.
