im 30 and im glad i witnessed this era of hip hop the 90's was the best i was 15 when this came out south music just hasnt been the same since outkast and goodie mob are the top 5 hip hop groups of all time and the 2 best hip hop groups ever to come out of the south those brothers are creative thats whats missing from south hip hop today actually thats whats missing from music period
A NYC cat new to the dirty south Decatur, Ga. in 1995 and this was my introduction and it changed my one sided view of hip hop and i have been on some best of both worlds shit ever since!!!! Met Cee lo later that year and let him know that this was the hottest sh^t on the streets!!!!!!!!! Feel me duurrrttttyyyyyy!!!!!!
I'm 30 and I had this album on cassette back in the day. This album is timeless,I won't listen to it for a year or two and I'll come across it and it's just as great as I remember it. Such a deep album.
Hell yeah, this whole album makes me cry. That's why i listen to this album and Atliens by outkast when i'm by myself, cause i know the tears are gonna fall.
Man this $h17 took me back. I mean I feel like I just smoked one, I haven't blazed in two years, it's funny how good muzic can bring you to a place peace.!!!!!!!!!!
This album is fucking awesome. I started listening to it, heard like the first 6 tracks. I got a copy of it used at the cd store today. Traded my 2 "Too Short" cds for it. I really don't like short, because even though his beats are great, his lyrics lack substance. He just talks about hoes. I'd rather own Soul Food. Than any of that.. But Yeah..
I traded 2 cds for 1.. So I lost alotta cash, but oh well. Live and learn. Goodie Mob Is great.. I love them.
This song and album got me through a lot of stuff.....When Outkast and G Mo B came out the music was on some other level to me. Got much respect for that whole Organized Noize Production movement.
I remember sittin in da back of my boy Rico box chevy with so much weed smoke everywhere beatin this shit on them 12's and I was in the backseat with tears just comin down my face. This song used to hit me so hard on the inside! To all the young cats who love dance music, i.e. soulja boy, new boys....that genre! I like dance music sometimes but we losing real hip hop like this that evokes emotion and thought. Music that touches your soul!
@digitalkid911 man you are so right i was just telling my friend the same thing. i played this song on the phone for him to remember. this type of music will never be again. man i miss these. all this commericalized crap makes me sick. everything is all gimmicks and no talent. god i wish we could bring these days back. im at work thinking of the old days when i use to put this is my tape cassett

This track went HARD! The mid 90's was SO real. This song made me proud to have moved to Atlanta in 1995. This is a sleeper track and really reflected the struggle of the hustle in the south.

sometime i don t know how ima eat about 20 dollas away from being on the street might see a nigga on tv but its like im rappin 4 free that little shit be gone gotdamit im grown
this is my 3rd favourite album of all time, behind ras kass's soul on ice at #2 and raekwons only built for cuban linx at #1....people sleep on the south too much, i always used to be all about the east and fuck everything else, but i smartend up b.c if you wanna call yourself a true hip hop fan you gota listen to rap music from all coasts...every coast puts out b.s music not just the south, so all the so called "purists" and backpackers who talk shit about the south can suck a dick...
@shallah3 Wow, This is in with my top 5 of all time, along with cuban linx, The Witchdoctor, Nearly any 2pac album, Any First Release Wu Tang Clan Member's Album, OutKast II or III. I cant place any of them ahead of one another with exception of Cuban Linx being Number 1. Oh yeah, Ras Kass extremely slept on. His style being outta place out west...........
@mrdre5 Have u ever heard the term, "Opinion's are like assholes and elbows..everyone has one" that's your opinion but I will have to respectfully disagree with you!
@RedSkullthagreat so do i man so do i i use to bang this shit out my 89 z24 caviler with my 800 watt us gold and 2 12' kicker comps i use to quake houses with this song live at the omni and hell the rest the damn album
@djominous1 Hell yeah!! I had a '92 Civic hatchback ,with Rockford Fosgate 400W/4ch amp,3-1/2 Kicker Door speakers w/super-tweeter door cones. I had a Rockford Fosgate "10 Sub in a custom built enclosure all connected to a Eclipse deck. I used shake everybody's house and cats used to think I had 15's or 18's but I just had my rear 2ch's bridged to the sub from the crossover.I used to bang the tape and shake the frame of my car!
This album deserves 10 mics. Hip Hop was in its prime. This shit changed my life. I started crying when i played this. Brings back so many memories. I lost alot of friends around the time this album came out. 93-99 best years of hip hop.
@enzigenes They deserve it. some of those NY ppl back then didn't appericated like they do now. Southern rappers back then wasn't in with the world. Damn shame.
@JohnELinden Yes im 31 years old. This is when hip hop was in it's prime. Back in the days i would hustle up enough money to buy new cds at specs every tuesday. Those days are over and im happy was apart of that era. Those were the golden years.
These are the kind of youtube post that give me inspiration for my own music. Check out my new song "Let it all Go By Flomaticc" Give me a review & comment. Thank you, Have a positive day. If you like what I do then download my music @ Flomaticc . com

this is my 3rd favourite album of all time, behind ras kass's soul on ice at #2 and raekwons only built for cuban linx at #1....people sleep on the south too much, i always used to be all about the east and fuck everything else, but i smartend up b.c if you wanna call yourself a true hip hop fan you gota listen to rap music from all coasts...every coast puts out b.s music not just the south, so all the so called "purists" and backpackers who talk shit about the south can suck a dick...
shallah3 1 year ago
@shallah3 Wow, This is in with my top 5 of all time, along with cuban linx, The Witchdoctor, Nearly any 2pac album, Any First Release Wu Tang Clan Member's Album, OutKast II or III. I cant place any of them ahead of one another with exception of Cuban Linx being Number 1. Oh yeah, Ras Kass extremely slept on. His style being outta place out west...........
