The xbox supports 1360 x 768 a difference of 6 pixels wow! I think i'll spend an extra £100 and buy a PS3 instead and all that money just makes my pockets heavy.
the button to turn the tv on/off only clicks twice nd will not turn the tv on - does anyone know what i need to purchase to fix this problem... can't go out and buy another tv>
@tonyrocksalot First of all, this TV is from 2007, secondly, if it really IS 15.000:1, then it's the best, but if you would measure it, it will be wayy lower. This is probably just the dynamic constrast in its best moment, which many people don't even use and isn't really something you need to look at when buying a TV.
Had mine for over 3years now am sure and it ain't finished YET ... lol now using it for my PC screen all wireless people come in my house and now ask me if my TV has internet built in lmao.
I bought mine in June this is Oct.its been broke for 3 weeks now still waiting for repairs under the warranty.WHAT A GREAT TV ....NOT!!! Y -Main, Upper and Lower scan boards and Logic is out . DO NOT BUY LG
If you are looking for the BEST picture quality in regards to deep black levels and colours, then definetly a PLASMA. LCD/LED have an amazing picture as well, unfortunately, their black levels are not up too par with plasmas. Plasmas perform better in a darker environment, whereas the LCD/LED performs better in a well lit room. PLASMAs are heavier & much thicker, and eat up FAR MORE energy than LCD/LED. Bottom line, get a brand name unit of plasma or LCD/LED.
720p is plenty. The only 1080p source is Blu. Cable TV and video games are not in 1080p, and that is a majority of the available content. You'd be stupid to spend more when you don't need to.
can somone please tell me what is the difference beetween plasma and lcd/led. Picture quality difference? whatever....and please tell me whats better.
Your salesman is a noob. Led is not a display technology but a its raplacing the ccfl's for backlight. they are still making both lcd/tft plasma and whatnot displays (tn, va, s/h-isp etc)
They're just not good and reaching they're potential. But plasmas in general ARE better than LCDs. You get the right plasma and you'll be laughing with joy, they can be quite incredible. You get an LCD you'll be obsolete in seconds - they're good for computer monitors because you're up close and at the right angle but the picture quality will never be nearly as rich as that of a plasma screen and although you can see it's flaws when you're up close - sit back a bit and there's the Mona Lisa!
Honestly my dad is an optometrist (eye doctor) and he said the naked eye cannot see the difference in a 2.000.000 to 1 tv ratio it is just a selling prompt he said the most you can actually see with the naked eye is 70.000 to 1 and that is what I am getting because I do not want to waste like 1-2 thousand dollars for an extra I cannot see..
I hooked up an LG50PT85 to my pc os vista home premium.. screen resolution is automaticly set to what it needs to be 1366 x 768 but displays approx. 2 inches out side the screen. Anyone have a clue on why? Thanx
why would I want your phone number? ru asking for a date? ofc you are ur THAT lonely, and why bragg about having a honda? mate I think your honda is the only friend u will ever get, xD..now keep watching your porn on your big screen tv like a pervert ur and dont hesitate to call me if u need help getting started with your new life, call me at 0708668577 cheers!
can they stop demonstrating on movies and demonstrate what games look like????? i mean i know not all people play games but most ppl who buy these t.v's buy it for football or games.
can someone tell me which tv will be good for me or which 1 is betta to get. i want a 50 inch tv and it should be hd 1080p. so which 1 should i get and which 1 should it be ?
Lyeboyz002, plasma's will have the best picture, 1080 wont look anydifferent to 720 unless your sitting 50 cm's from the screen and then you cant see the hole screen, 1080 is deffenitly better once you get 50" + but under that its almost pointless, 1080p is mainly just a big marketing sceme, if you are getting newer plasma's make sure it has a thing that moves the picture the tinyest amount every second. this makes the pixels refresh and stops burn in, but with plasma's dont leave a single frame
It will move the image such a small amount a human eye cant see it but the pixels will still refresh meaning that a single frame wont sit on the pixel for longer than a few seconds, the only thing that causes screen burn in is a single frame on the tv for around 30 min+ also try to get a plasma with the most commen broadcast ratios, you dont want the black bars on the screen that make it wider/thinner, they will burn into the screen.for the first 200 hours it will burn in very easy so watch out
I'm so stupid. I recently bought a ps3 (80 gb version) and then like.. wtf have I done?! I had just got enough money from a job to buy the ps3, but then after I bought it I began to think of a better TV. Very dumb. Now I have to stick to my seven year old giant black SD TV. Looks shitty as hell with the PS3! I am in a deep depression right now, slowly working with different jobs to earn enough money to buy a Full HD TV. It will a cheap TV then. Grrr!!!!! :D
i have the 42 inch version, it heats up badly but hook up the hdmi cable to the blueray. u can basicly see every pimple bug even dust on the movie. i reccomend this tv. only problem is just the heat it produces, 2 hot 2 touch.
DICK , anything that heats up uses power, the hotter it gets the more resistance the more power it uses, I have this exact tv and it great but it says on the back 5A - which is 5 amps ,,, I x V =- 5 x 230 which is equal to 1150watts That is the same as 19 - 60watt light globes running at the same time or 76 - 15 watt compact flouros. Great value for money for the first days viewing!. This is not just LG its every plasma thats available.
I have the same 50 inch it does get hot but when im playing my ps3 i put the brightness down it doesn't get hot that much. also put a fan straight into the tv and it doesn't get that hot.
i have that exact tv! it sucks in my opinion! I got it brand new for €800! Dont buy! it offten gets plasma burn eg, i pause a movie go take a piss go back and the image is burned on the screen!!! Get an LCD
Vizio Plasma TV use LG Panels, which are not very high quality. To be honest, LG and Vizio are more budget brands, and cannot really compete with Pioneer or Panasonic. LG Tvs are slightly better than Vizio, but not by much. For the price, Vizio is a better choice.
The LG panels that I've seen have issues with motion, with IR (image retention).
i got a 42 inch plasma flat screen and there is a smug on it and i was just wondering what i should use to clean it becasue when the screen in black u can see it.
I tried to play any DVD on my LG LCD 32 Inch Widesreen Flatron TV, but the picture is the same anamorphic horizontal stretch that you get on a normal TV, I had to change it to Pan Scan mode, then zoom in to make it Widescreen. Do any LCD or Plasma TV's have zoom in functions, that I can zoom in a DVD picture, and the zoom in words dont appear as well?? anyone know?
You can get 60 inch 1080p t.v for 2000 dollars at costco, they have the best prices there and the return policy is the best too. Brands like sony and and panasonic overprice there stuff too much. There was a 70 inch 1080p plasma Sony t.v at sony style and it was $20,000. There was a 72 inch 1080p Samsung t.v at costco for $2500. Sony overprices too much, the t.vs were almost identical except the Samsung was larger.
I have a 50 inch lg plasma but not this one i got it like 3 weeks ago. Its only 720p though. It was 1200dollars. We should of got the 60inch 1080p Lg plasma for 2000.
There are 1080p projectors just to let you know. There was and epson 1080p projector that was about $2799 and it could beecome 102inches. That is cheaper then a t.v
I have this one, I usually don't watch tv or play my 360 often (computer gamer) and i just turned it on today to find it's got some shitty blue pixelation distortion. I've had this thing for almost 3 months and I'm already having issues :/
i jus bought this t.v today lol im fucken 15 n i spent 2grand on it with a stand n i never watch t.v . but its fucken nice jus noticed its ghosts easy but u can make it good away in the ooptions i think
I have this tv with a wii and a ps3 and its out of this world everybody loves it have had no burn problems i played mario kart 64 on my wii virtual console with my mate for 5hrs and you could see the position for like 10mins after we finished but this dissapeared and has been fine so i think as long as your sensible this is def the tv for you its amazing call of duty 4 on my ps3 is the most realistic graphics ive ever seen in my life!!
i just bought one of these 3 days ago and so far im happy as hell. ive played some movies and the picture quality is freaking amazing but i also use it to play x box360 the graphics are surreal but i didnt know until now that plasma tv`s can burn images on the screen if they are left on the screen to long... im keeping the big boy though lets just see what happens might have to go back to gaming on my little 32" LCD
Got one, waiting for installation from the future shop crews, mines a 42 inch. Does burn in still happen? or does this tv have the technlogy to combat it?
Got one, waiting for installation from the future shop crews, mines a 42 inch. Does burn in still happen? or does this tv have the technlogy to combat it?
Mine just died after 16 months of use on Dec 26th. $3,700.00 befor tax and now the company that LG outsources it's repairs too is closed for the holidays. It's one week later now and I am still waiting for someone to show up and repair this beast.
Hey, resolution of the content can not be "created" by the display medium! SD to HD is just a gimmick!

Sony overprices too much, the t.vs were almost identical except the Samsung was larger.

contrast ratios numbers do not matter because every manufacture measures contrast differently but this is a decent set..

Whats the life span of the unit? How many hrs does it expect to last for, I have heard LG's have a short life span compared to others?!?!
SJB666 3 years ago
Most tvs are now rated at 60,000 hours
EMERICA3DREW 3 years ago
is the 15000:1 contrast ratio the best LG have isn't it possible to get much higher ratios?
wasimkhan321 3 years ago
Last I heard you can get upto 50,000:1, my samsung is that. Remember though that is native, dont be fooled by dynamic contrast.

i just bought one of these 3 days ago and so far im happy as hell. ive played some movies and the picture quality is freaking amazing but i also use it to play x box360 the graphics are surreal but i didnt know until now that plasma tv`s can burn images on the screen if they are left on the screen to long... im keeping the big boy though lets just see what happens might have to go back to gaming on my little 32" LCD
whoa305 3 years ago
32" is little?? since when did this happen?
One3teen 3 years ago 2
well when you go from 32" to 50" the 32" just seems like 15" ya digg? its just like once you go big then small is just too small.

Got one, waiting for installation from the future shop crews, mines a 42 inch. Does burn in still happen? or does this tv have the technlogy to combat it?

It has the ability to erase 90% of the burn. (in other words, after a while it all goes away.)
