  • AH-64 Apache Longbow <3

  • 5:34 Well what about the gunners seat? Is he pretty much screwed?

  • Why is this under gaming?

  • "PRIMARY FUNCTION IS TO DEAL DEATH AND DESTRUCTION". !!! LIKE !!!

  • DO A BARREL ROLL!!!

  • Beast

  • Damn

  • NASTYNESS!

  • The ! BEST ! helicopter worldwide! The tip of the spear! Hits hard no matter which kind of mission. Flown also by myself.

  • @AH6JLittleBird Not the tip of the spear but whatever

  • How much is the helmet? Looks expensive...

  • @mininow around 25,000

  • What I'd give to ride the dragon....Man I hope I make it.

  • @baker51516 Good luck man

  • I'd love to see a Rooivalk vs Apache face off

  • Drivers... they fucking pilots -_-

  • @TurbineProductionsX Actually, quite a few pilots informally refer to themselves and others as drivers.

  • Ancient Aliens made the Apache

  • @andrewkta I believe it's 6ft

  • Can anyone tell me whats the maximum height for an Army aviation officer/chief warrant officer to fly a helicopter if there is a max? Thanks!

  • @andrewkta it is definitely taller than 6 ft, we have an aviator that flies one of these and he's well over 6' 5 or maybe even 6' 6

  • Three Afghan watched this video..

  • @TheJapozi though that's racist I still laughed

  • @insertnamehere001 Where´s my Thumbs??? :D

  • @TheJapozi bam

  • @TheJapozi Now 4 talibans bro

  • @gmacorvick yea :D

  • I was at school and one landed on our football field... never knew why.

  • @TheKneecap no I don't live near a base but they sometimes fly over for training exercises because they go up north to a base. I also have seen ah-1z cobras and HH-60 sea hawks fly over too. It is not the first time I have seen an apache fly over my house. I think they come from a training school from the south of Oakland(California).

  • I want one of these in the Christmas

  • I say the AH-1Z Viper is better in the way of the HUD being a part of the visor. But this baby can do BARREL ROLLS!!

  • this would certainly make my commute a lot more interesting. :)

  • from modern marvels:driver seats....

  • Holy shit ironic as hell an apache just flew over my house as I was watching this vid no joke I kid you not!!! What are the odds of that??? 1 in a million!!!

  • @ACOBRAPILOTDUDE unless you live next to an apache base

  • i think the AH-64 apache should in all the branches of the US military

  • im sure they have military helicopters with blacked out windows or know windows at all.

  • @BDFPA yes. The CPG is a pilot too. Typically the backseater is the pilot in command (PC). The CPG or Pilot can WAS up gun.

  • Another effective man slaughtering toy. Congrat, why don't we just nuke the shit out of each others, saving time, resource and help the Earth to quickly wipe out the parasite called human from its surface.

  • @aclock2 Well we could do that, but this is much more fun

  • TIGER OF THE SKIES..that's what Indian army calls it....glad they are buying 22 of this shit

  • Is the gunner a pilot also or just a gunner and same with the pilot? i.e can they do each other's job's

  • 4:21 Fuckin Impressive !!

  • @jimbag24 Thank You

  • Awesome!

  • What does it take to become a army apache pilot?

  • KA 52 so much bether ;)

  • @MyMcMichael

It's a nice helicopter but a poor gunship, sorry.

  • Throttle, collective (cyclic) rudder right, left. tilt the hub right and left, god that must be impossible. Helicopters are technically easier to fly then fixed wings. That why non-com officers are allowed to fly them. A fighter jet pilot is a trained flight engineer that requires 4 years and vastly more training. Of course your trying to train someone who is from Alabama and couldn't really land a job in the private sector so that is understandable.

  • @cybermarsactual What's the matter, Toots? Your boy friend from Alabama leave you for a REAL woman?

  • @cybermarsactual sorry but thats just not true

  • Sexy! But still.. I would rather go with a mi-35 :) best in the world :)

  • Commanche is so much better!!!!!

  • I can't decide; the AH-64 or the AH-1Z. I know more about the zulu cobra than the apache, but still...

  • Barrel rolls? The Mi-28 Havoc can do backflips!!

  • @DoubleStack13 It may be able to do backflips, but it doesn't have a snowman's chance in hell of standing up to an Apache.

  • you RULE apaches!!

  • the best and scariest copter just happen to be a boeing...GO BOEING!!!

  • who controls the 30mm the pilot or the gunner

  • @harrybyles1996 gunner, but the pilot can slave the 30mm to his helmet at any time with the flip of a switch.

  • Comment removed

  • @Airsoftguy1313 i know the gunner can fly the aircraft but does he do alot of flying

  • @harrybyles1996 It depends, typically a mission CO is in front seat of one of the aircraft. Depending on the situation the front seat can fly at any time, but probably 80% of the time the back seat will be flying.

  • @Airsoftguy1313 ok thanx :)

  • @harrybyles1996 Both crew can operate any of the weapon systems. 'usually' the pilot (in back) handles flying and communications and the CPG (in front) finds targets, destroys targets and helps navigate.

  • @T1MCPT kk thanx

  • @T1MCPT Thats not entirely accurate. The rear station can not control all weapons functionality from the back.

  • @mjm9536 Any Longbow back seater can shoot the m230, rockets or hellfires. That pretty much sums up all the weapon systems on the Apache... The crew will obviously utilize their controls correctly to accomplish the mission as quick and professionally as possible. Which means the front seater will do the shooting, the back seater will fly and communicate.

  • It's easy to recognize an apache pilot, they are unable to close the right eye :)

    6:00

  • @ 0:58 sucks to be those guys on the ground. i'm pretty sure that missile tore them apart ;P

  • thanks for HD, all of the other videos are 240p...

  • 2:56 that M230 has been busy!

  • @bodyboystance2 hell yea that barrel was blazing white.. hot!

  • You very well could be pretty smart.. But the FLIR definitely can't see through walls, at least not until they blast a hole in it first. And Apache's never fly with stingers or the other AAM's it 'can' carry. Apache's are designed to pick fights with tanks, not fighter jets.. They will ALWAYS let's the fighter jets kill each other off first, then cruise in and deal death on the battlefield. Now, enemy jets still on the ground... That's a turkey shoot, once enemy radar is destroyed..

  • @T1MCPT It depends, the exported versions more specifically the ones that are sold to the Dutch regularly carry stinger missles.....

  • @dieslpower2 They very well may load up the extra, useless, weight of stingers on their 64's. The US Army never does. Just because it can, doesn't mean it will. Any apache pilot will agree with me in saying, let the jets kill eachother and let the apache's kill shit on the ground.

  • @T1MCPT I agree that the US Army will probably never carry AAM's (even though they have the ability to). I was stating that export users do on a regular basis. Just my $.02

  • @T1MCPT Not true, I read a story on the internet that said there was an AH-64F model who shot down a Mig in Iraq using Flashetts. This particular pilot was sent in on a secret mission to prove that the AH-64E model was capable of this type of mission. Pretty cool. I wonder what it takes to fly these things. I think that's what I'm gonna do.

  • @lucky1867 There is no F.. You don't have the slightest clue about what you're saying. You watch to many movies. The ONLY recorded ATA engagement ANY ah64 has ever had, was one shot down a cessna with a hellfire.

  • are there more videos like this one but with the blackhawk and chinook? this is a great video with awesome clarity. i searched but couldn't find anything

  • @drelias1 If I happen to come across one, I will post it.

  • bring back the fucking loach...they work better in hunter killer teams.

  • brilliant in HD =)

  • Amazing aircraft. Worked on it for 8 years. Still bitter about not at least getting a 15 minute ride in one. Simulators just aren't the same.

  • How would you know GhostTownCowboy? My best friend went to an air show a couple weeks ago and a real apache pilot told him that. You don't know $h!t.

  • @lucky1867 I think that pilot forgot to mention the "Whisper Mode" that you can enable on the Apache. It's SICK! You can hardly hear ANYTHING! Not only can it see through walls, and have a Whisper Mode, but you can detach the Stinger missiles from the wingtips and use them as shoulder-launched missiles! JUST LIKE IN FIREBIRDS!!!! WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO AMERICA!!!!

  • @pdavis84 You might be the smartest person I've ever met on the Apache topic. Well, second smartest......I'm the startest.

  • Plus the Longbow can see through walls, thanks to the FLIR. At night when the your house cools off, the heat from people can be seen through the walls. Similar to the movie Blue Thunder, just not quite as clear.

  • @lucky1867 You couldn't be more wrong....

  • The ihadss can display from any sensor for the pilot or the CPG. The newer Longbows front and rear seat are very similar and have almost every capability to do anything the aircraft can do. In bad weather the pilot can choose to see through the FLIR from the MTADS during flight if he/she needed to, not just the PNVS. The FLIR can see through fog and dust a little better then night vision can. Remember the current Longbows are only a "semi-IFR" capable aircraft.

    Under typical circumstances you

  • wait i thought the gunner controls the turrent. not the gunner

  • @Megalodon64 they can each own different parts of the helicopter's systems and share between them during flight (or take some over if required). Both pilots need to do their dedicated roles to perform to its potential, but in a pinch (and in training) some systems can be taken over by the other pilot as needed. Don't know if it applies to the US model, but there's a coordinated rocket firing mode where they both align sights onto a target, for example, so there are system overlaps designed in.

  • The helmets are the same, the monocle over their right eye is basically a HUD, like in a fighter jet. It can display pretty much any data or sensor image onboard the aircraft that the pilot or CPG would want to see without having to look down. The cannon can be slaved to either's head movement and the monocle will give whoever is operating it a crosshair showing what the gun is pointed at. It's also used for night vision or thermal imaging so the pilot can fly the Apache at night without a prob

  • at 4:23, why does the pilot wear the gunner's helmet (or if it is the gunner, then why is he in the pilot's seat?)

  • @GenAdams yeah, what @T1MCPT said, the helmets are the same.

  • @DarkstarNovembr

ok. i understand, but then why does the pilot need a helmet that is capable of aiming the chaingun?

  • @GenAdams well the pilot wouldn't aim the chaingun, the pilots IHADSS can display whatever the PNVS is pointing at, it can show basic flight info aswell. the little monocule isnt just for the CPG to aim and fire weapons

  • The Best

  • @IBroLLyISePhIrOtH the Apache kicks any russian helis ass

  • @ryan0157

apache rulez but the mi28 is a total killong machine , 8 missiles in 1 wing and rokets ans 1 large missle and the same in the other wing and the technology is similar to the apache , but the apache is a killing machine

  • @ryan0157

in ur avatar , that plneis a f/18 super hornet??
