The buisness is out of production and the ion is complete shit. u have to ugrade the feedneck, board, trigger, and it doesnt even have debounce. it's a shit gun for a shit price. the SLG on the other hand is not that good either, but waay better than an ion. get the slg.

i personally own an ion, its not that bad. if you want to buy a marker and play stock, buy an proto slg great stock. but if you plan to upgrade your marker to a higher level marker go with the ion xe.
@team5alivepaintball why couldnt u upgrade the slg the same way as the ion, the ion isnt great and it doesnt come with a board. So pretty much the gun is 100 bucks more just to maybe match it.
get an slg, they have a nice stock board, clamping feedneck, i think a hyper 3 reg, a mufled bolt. the ion has shit with a 17 bps board and the only way to have a nice ion is to put a shit load of money into it

I have a PMR and ION's. If you don't mind working on you markers alot I say Ion. If you want a more user friendly marker go with SLG. Check out my vidz and see what the ion can do and the PMR (almost the same as SLG).

i would say slg as its more up to scratch for tournament based game, however, having fired one multiple times and having a friend on the team i play for who has one, theres upgrades that are a must such as clamping feed neck ul frame etc - down fall to the slg is it chops balls pretty frequently ive personally found, but on the flip side, the ion for the price etc is a great marker and doesnt tend to chop as many balls, but equally it doesnt have the same build quality and efficency as the slg.
ion is a great gun and more affordable, but it sounds like you are going to play little after you get shot up once or twice. so ion is beeter for you!
