The pros do it, if the ump doesn't think it hit you he won't give you the base anyhow. It's worth a shot. I guarantee you if the ump gave you first and you turned and said "No that didn't hit me" your coach would put his foot up your.... You get the point. Like I said it comes with the turf. Faking getting hit by the pitch is part of the game, its not cheap its just trying to get the call to go your way. If the pitcher comes in on a batter the batter might get that call, it comes with the territory. If the call doesn't go your way though you don't get pissed and blame the umpire, thats bad sportsmanship. He deserved to get tossed.
