Can u find a mouse spider in the us? I live in Ga and have seen a spider very close to this... The only other spider I could compare this to is a funnel web spider and I would rule it out....This spider was HUGE,black, and look like it was wearing a shinny black coat. I came across it on a walking trail. It was out in the open and I was to freaked out to see if it was alive.
i remember seeing a female mouse spider crawling around a friends house and she happen to be in the kitchen....i told her and she said its probably a wood spider? it was huge black and hairy (thats what she said) so i caught it and her friend kept it. i guess he collects spiders.....2007 i think
my mom got bit by a mouse spider mysteriously on a trip in australia. I was swimming, minding my own business, and caught a mouse spider on the seats. It was far away from my mom, so I didn't care. Later on I caught her vomiting. I realized that the mouse spider bit her. She had to go to hospital. I stayed at my dads for 2 days.
I HATE THESE SPIDERS!!! A few years ago it flooded here and I remember I went to look out my backyard and I saw an army of mouse spiders advancing on my house! I am not even exaggerating there were hundreds of thousands of them! Just walking towards the house some of them were already crawling up the walls! DX At the time there was nothing we could do about them but for some reason, thank God, the next day they had all vanished! I have no idea where they went.
I'm not at all knowledgeable about the migration patterns of spiders, but often times in the US spiders will "migrate." during certain times of year baby spiders will "balloon" and if your house is in their path, you may wake up covered in bites. (course these spiders are nearly as deadly as those found in Australia). I assume they were escaping a flooded area and your house was in their path.
@ojideagu Just what i thought not life threatening unless you are allergic to the poison. Yes of course when it comes to children you have to be careful with all creatures and get rid of them places where the children are playing.
@ojideagu I would be lucky too if i lived in the UK with all the wonderful english women- ummn. Well its not that i dont like danish women but there is something special about english women with the beautiful english classic sexy look and the mistress like behaviour-:) Well thats nothing to do with the subject, but a good thing to think about from time to time. lol Anyway it is also because of the english language which actually is very sexy when they use it the right way. lol
@globe255 haha sorry to burst your bubble but that's mostly a fantasy. There are a lot of women who are dog rough and nothing like a mistress. Most women do not sound like you imagine.
@globe255 That's one thing I would dread about Australia, it has the most Venomous insects and animals on earth! Even more then Africa. But looks like a cool country.
meh we all grew up with them. Sometimes i wonder how soft all these british people are screaming at a decent sized spider. We all know whats dangerous and these rnt as bad as they look you can usually just shoot them with a .22. The ones you have to worry about r the funnel webs cuz they can kill you if your out too far west with no hospitals.
well australians shuld be aware of redacks, funnel web and mouse spiders especially for the last 2 cause they ar agressive. I would not worry that much for redbacks cause steaoda is common in my garden so as a close relative which is not that dangerous.. however respect and knowledge is the answer. the bad think is that spiders could found anywhere so lets say working in the garden with bare hands is risky...not for spiders.... snakes in australia are far more common
yeah ive been bitten by a red back when i was in the bush with my mates, didnt need to go to hospital and yeah ive seen plently more bad snakes in my time than bad spiders
I tangled with one of these unwittingly one night when I flew for Laynha Air at Gove. Moved into a house in Nhullunbuy and got up in the night to take a leak. Saw a spider in the hallway and crunched it using only a tissue then, thinking it was dead, threw it in a corner of the kitchen with other rubbish to be cleaned up in the morning. Come the morning, found a very angry spider with two legs missing rearing up at me. Had it identified that day and still get tingles when I think about it!
@slk320k The Mouse Spider is actually a little more venomous than the Sydney Funnel Web Spider because it has a little more added effects in it's poisonous bite. However it is no where near as aggressive as the Sydney Funnel Web Spider because Mouse Spiders actually show signs of restraint in their Threat Postures while Sydney Funnel Web Spiders mostly do not.
@thehappyinsomniac I didn't actually wish you anything.I looked up mouse spiders, and they apparently rarely cause serious injuries.I wouldn't wish a spider bite on anyone, though.
@thehappyinsomniac When I made that comment to you,it was because you had left that spider with two of it's legs broken off. That could have been painful, and when a spider loses legs it can't walk properly,so it had likely been walking around in circles all night.I just meant it served you right having a spider angry at you.If you have to squish spiders,at least make sure you do it right,so they don't suffer.
@ElledieWildAndFree Fair enough. Sorry for the somewhat rude reply. I thought you were one of those people who NEVER kill anything. I had no intention of making the spider suffer and have always taught my kids to kill quickly and only when required. I'm very glad that i did deal to this spider though as my kids were only 4 and 2 at the time. Hate to think what might have happened had one of them stepped on this little killer first. Cheers and appologies once again.
@thehappyinsomniac Well,I try not to kill anything, but then we don't get killer spiders in the UK,see, there are advantages to living here!Well, one, anyway.
All spiders have venom. They use venom to destroy the internal structure of their prey and then they suck up the juices. However this spider has potent venom which is deadly.
Have had two of theese in my house bloody big but only after heavy rains my cat was playing with one i thought was a mouse wen to take closer look big arse spider, thought it was a funnell web as i used to get them in sydney caught it and took to the library they told me its a relative and I was a bit silly to catch it as if I was bitten the issues are major

nice video but i resent the fact the man referred to the spider as the pit bull terrier of the spider world, that implies that all pit bulls are as nasty and aggressive as a damned spider. just another person passing on the stereotypical ignorance that is giving these wonderful dogs a bad name.
He isn't actually spreading a nasty sterotype of pit bulls. His comment refers to the fact pitbulls have been bread to bite and lock on, like the spider does.
@EatItRAW92 Iron deficiency can be caused by the destruction of hepatic cells that produce an intrinsic factor that is necessary to bind with iron in our food, rendering it soluable for absorption in tha small intestine. The toxic reaction she experienced from the venon could very well have played a part. Low iron leads to low hemoglobin/hematicrit and chronic anemia which can eventually cause damage to organs including the eyes.
@EatItRAW92 Exactly. Sounds more like the symptoms of a Anorexic or Bullemic eating disorder. I highly doubt a Spider bite caused any of her problems. let alone Eye damage!

In some ways I think a MS is more dangerous than a FW.
A mS is much more robust, like you said, you thought it was crunched, but they just dont die so easily. Kinda like a ROBOSPIDER or something.
Please do yourself a huge favour ...
Look up MrAbbit10 and watch his 2 FW vids.
