awesome vid guys but is there an alternative to using these solutions as i live in the uk and cant get hold of them, and would the rust solution work on hammerite paint thanks
@EMusyk i live in ireland and have the same problem but i found a site that sells the stuff and ships internationally. i cant post the links coz YT wont let me but the site is called "dickblick" and then type into the search "rust" and its the first result. you'll probly have to e-mail them about rates though...
okay i got the iron surfacer that i saw on here and the rest at the store were rock hard, i figured ah just pressure in the bottle, i get home and its really really thick, i tried shaking for 15min, i tried mixing it with a stir stick, but still chunky and uneven, did you run into this problem ie. "normal"
Try using a toothbrush thats a bit stiff and use that for rust effects. It works very good. And use some different brown dark colors, move over to lighter brown, then a bit dark orange and you go lighter and lighter like last, then a dark metallic and
do as previus. The toothbrush gives a very good rust effect but only if the paint is right thick but not too thick.
jesus shit, you guys are really professional. I bought some vinyl from you guys and some grills. I tried out this rust effect and modded my NZXT alpha case. it looks great (but i have no camera or i'd show it off)
Nice to see another vid from you guys and great job painting, it looks great. Makes me really want to do a steam-punk mod, but I'd need a new case for that. ='(
The first pieces you show have more colors then the finished one you did in the video. Did you use more colors on the PSU and Grill in the first part of the video?
does anyone have any links for where to buy this paint gear??

Sand it down and leave it in the rain for a few weeks ;)
That'll get you a proper rust effect.

Is primer really that bad for you?
ross817 1 year ago
Why not just not apply the primer and let it rust for real?
ross817 1 year ago
@ross817 cos the thing he was using was plastic lol
