I have seen groomers come out and have to get stitches from little shih tzu's and have scars from labs, i have been snapped at by peoples minniature poodles, and in return i have played and cuddled with Pit bulls. People are quick to judge, when honestly the FIRST dog i would get would be a Pit Bull, the LAST would a chihuahua. So some research before you judge. The Pit bulls are the most new covered because people are too SHELTERED to see.

I've seen more vicious Chihuahua's and Dachshund's than i have Pitbulls. I have seen Pitty's stand there and get snapped at by another dog, and do nothing about it. EVERY dog has the potential to be an attacker, and the amount of attention placed on Pitbulls is ridiculous, and i have seen many other breeds (i work in a pet store) and not once have i seen a mean bully breed of any kind. IMO, more emphasis should be placed on owners of ALL DOGS.

@mrhoffame I was bitten by a pit bull one time. All I was doing was getting out of a cab and pow I had a dog on my leg. I found that funny because I have had friends who got mad at me because their pets did more 'cute' things for me and liked me more. I love animals and they know it somehow. After about a minute the owner managed to get the dog to release my leg .. and they ran away. The Police told me in that area most drug dealers use pits for offensive and defensive proposes.

That's because being attacked by a poodle and being attacked by a black bear are two very different things. @Laxcarl yes, i know a victim.... she works at an animal hospital and she was attacked by a neglected pitbull at her hospital, it destroyed her arm and she had to go out of work for a while.. once her arm healed up she went back to work with them, she even pet the pit that attacked her when he came back for a check up in his new home. @Laxcarl to be weaned out of their genes. my neighbor has the sweetest pitbull ever, it gives loving kisses and this og was abused by its previous owner. All dogs can be like pitbulls, aggressive. You just ont hear stories about the other dogs. Goldren retrivers can attack, small dogs can attack, less people die from them, yes, but ALL dogs have the ability to fight and kill, pitbulls are just the worst offenders.

I'm sure the loving kisses your neighbour's dog gives is of no comfort to the dead and mauled victims of pitbull attacks. Attacks that are always happening. It's only the other day that a woman narrowly escaped with her life near where I live. When police arrived, they rightly shot the dog on site as it was deemed too dangerous to seize.

@Laxcarl I don't have a pitbull but I know they are wonderful and beautiful creatures. If you treat any animal roughly or raise it badly it will have problems. Hell, I know many a yorkie that would sooner rip off my face than a pitbull.

Many people in my neighborhood have them and I have never, ever seen one attack or heard of one. The media sensationalizes anything that has to do with a 'vicious' breed because it makes news.

@Laxcarl That's exactly what it is, They are to stupid to see the logic behind it. It is ALWAYS the dog you trust, That's how it gets the opportunity to begin with. If it was obvious the dog was dangerous it would never be allowed near another pet, Or worse, A small child. I can't count the number of calls I went to where the family pet, Easily 3/4th of which were Pitt/Mixes had attacked someone.

They are trained to fight by horrible people and people like you are shown the bad side of pitbulls by evil people.
