I've been using etch for some years now and I mostly use fingers, tweezers and flat plyers. The only time I have needed to use one of these was with the fenders on the T-34 due to their length. I still managed with brute force and ignaronce. Happy modeling and thanks for this great vid.
I got this device a couple of years ago, and i am very happy to own one as i am an avid pastic modeler. It is not an essential tool, but it is very close. Lots of uses for this jig from etchmate!! when working with pe materials, it is very easy to bend the pe when handling with your hands, so in that respect, it is an essential tool :-)
After considering purchasing an Etchmate for the last couple years, I picked one up for Christmas and it is a big help by making short work of folding the photo-etch parts. I give it 2 thumbs up.
Damn that was a comment I made awhile back. Hmm I think I said that because this video was either featured or just in a place where it can be generally located and grouped and not specifically towards those of us who build models.
man why comment on something that you arn't interested in, this bloke is a champ. I've learnt so much from these little videos and i hope there are heaps more. I don't build models but i'm really looking at getting into it and every single one of these videos no matter how short or what the content is is great. Irrelenvantalex... living up to the name, and lilxaznblade... go listen to some more 50 cent albums.

This is a bit sought, i think (having a small but nice collection of GOOD pliers that works very well)!!!

I've seen it coming down in price now that it has been out for awhile. There's a mini version that's quite useful as well.

A clamp...And a wedge to prop up and fold pieces of models.
That's all. Nicely documented but extremely boring to those who don't build models..
