You could tell Floyd and Dillinger were not killers at heart. Both preferred to run away rather than shoot it out. Baby face Nelson on the other hand was a real phyco....
this movie made me so sad. Charles floyd is my great great grandfather... ive never met him since he died WAY before i was born. but its still sad seeing how he died. my grandmother told me alot of stories about him while i was growing up.
Melvin Purvis never even shot pretty boy floyd. They had a local officer who was a WWI sniper shoot him in the arm with a .38 winchester and then after he refused to talk they fired an SMG at him point blank.
@MOMORPIGER That is one of the things believed. No one knows how he died. There were theories before before the WWI sniper was interviewed in 1979 and other witness viewpoints going against that.
@TheBradcake wouldnt really matter which way he ran if the man with the gun is a decent marskman. best thing to do is to get the fuck out of sight as fast as you can.

The "fair use" exemption to (U.S.) copyright law was created to allow things such as commentary, parody, news reporting, research and education about copyrighted works without the permission of the author. That's vital so that copyright law doesn't block your freedom to express your own works -- only the ability to appropriate other people's.
Intent, and damage to the commercial value of the work are important considerations. Are you reproducing an article from the New York Times because you needed to in order to criticise the quality of the New York Times, or because you couldn't find time to write your own story, or didn't want your readers to have to register at the New York Times web site? The first is probably fair use, the others probably aren't.
HEY I GO THERE ON A REGULAR BASIS! we fly model planes in the once orchard he was killed in. its over grown now, cant hardly tell there was an orchard there just weeds an trees and a couple batteries lol! there's a monument people look at or shoot at.... damn kids
why are top comments in 90 percent of vids immature, irrelevant, and stupid. Not hating, just saying that the majority of people who are "active" on youtube still are either in h.s. or middle school.
They got a few things right in this scene. Floyd was on a farm when he got killed, melvin purvis did question him, floyd did say that he was charles floyd (he hated the name "Pretty Boy Floyd", a name given to him by the press), he was wearing a blue suit, and he did pull out a .45 pistol after he got shot. But purvis did not kill him (but he did give his men the order to shoot him), floyd did not have a tommy gun with him, and he was kill a year later than depicted in this movie
@jbcowdery i heard that mansion shootout in the middile of the movie was actually filmed at the mansion where the original shootout happened back in the day
@Snako85 As far as the double triggers go it was a common practice to give a customized or sporting rifle a double set trigger to give the rifle an easier trigger pull. Basically giving the rifle a shorter pull of the trigger to make the rifle fire. It's not as popular a practice today because rifles can have what's now known as a "2 Stage Trigger" which gives the same result but with less machining or gun smithing involved.
@danedw9113 how does having two triggers make it easier it looks like itd be more difficult if anything but im not to knowledgable about guns so i cant really say that for sure
@Snako85 Basically the trigger on the rear acts as a trip lever. If the trigger in front is pulled first the trigger has to move farther back in order to activate the sear and cause the firing pin to move forward causing the gun to fire. If the rear trigger is pulled first it allows the trigger in the front to have less movement to the rear cause the gun to fire sooner. It's very similar to how you can cock the hammer on a revolver first if you want, giving a very light trigger pull.
Using both triggers is not required, just as a double action revolver doesn't require the hammer to be cocked back. It's just there in case you want to have a very light trigger pull. As in the case of the above video. The first rifle shot was standard using the front trigger. The second rifle shot was slower and Bale took his time to line up the shot and didnt want to have his shot miss so he used the rear trigger first to give the main front trigger an easy, light trigger pull.
@KGOperative2012 runing only in zig-zags doesn't help, cause that ass-hole shooting at you can point the gun in front of you while your doing one of the zigs and hit you. you gotta combine zig-zaging with other moves. either that or you should run bacwards a few yards, shoot some more, run straight, then repeat
he got it better than JD did, they just straight walked up one him withour warning and blasted his ass, I never understood why they didnt just try to arrest him.
@TheSwitchbladeKiss im pretty sure it was a secondary safety that must be released before each time the rifle is fired its on some modern European rifles i believe. you make a trigger pull lighter by using a different method
coming from an owner of a mauser 98 (the original version of the gun purvis used) and a deer hunter, i can tell you that the sound of the gun and the way he fell was extremely accurate and realistic.
i wanna say a generic 30-06 hunting rifle with a double trigger, which is used to lessen the trigger pull of the second trigger which fires the gun, it may also be a sportorized springfiled 1903-A3.

Yes, that may be, but they didn't HAVE to screw it up as bad as they did. ITS NOT A BIOPIC. of course everything wont be 100% historically accurate. i already said that.
You can't expect every film adaptation of books or real life events to be completely accurate. people go to the movies to be entertained. they dont go for a history lesson.
The reason I'm not going to "debate" you is because you're not going to fucking listen to me anyway. You're going to go on watching things like this that completely fuck up history, and you're not going to fucking care because NOBODY cares about history anymore, all they care about is how many people get shot in it, or how many boobs are shown, nobody gives a shit about what really happened anymore. as long as they're entertained they're happy. Debate that, Asshole!
I am NOT flaming you, nor am I stating that you cannot vocalize your opinion, but when you do, try not to insult someone else's, whaich is exactly what you did earlier, and I don't care whether you meant to or not. You seem to care only about entertainment, well I get more entertainment out of watching real history being portrayed than some Hollywood imbeciles idea of what history should be.
Oh, would you look at that, I just went through that entire conversation with out saying a single FUCK!
Does it ever occour to you that Pretty Boy Floyd being shot by an old man, and dying after being thoroughly interrogated, makes this scene less theatrical? This movie is an artistic expression and not a historical document. If you love pure facts and history, you should stick with your books and national geographic....
I think you misunderstood me, I hate when movies fuck up history! I read alot myself, especially war history, and that particular subject is perhaps the most relevant in movies. But again I dont look for hisorical evidence in hollywood movies, and I see no point in getting so passionate about a discussion at youtube.
It's just that your comment sounded so much like the other guy at first that I misunderstood. Now that I have read this, I believe you and I would have much in common in real life. I don't read National Geographic, though. I prefer stories. Novels, and movies. I just prefer it when they try to tell those stories using real fact, rather than their own imaginations.
I will not, however, appoligise for my earlier argument.
I do not take it well when others try to cram their opinions down my throat.
If you do not believe this, then I ask you to read some older comments in the argument. I was trying to be civil at first, but he kept pushing. I don't know whether or not you'll see it this way, or anyone else, for that matter, but that's the way it felt to me. That he was pushing the idea that history didn't matter, only entertainment. Once again, sorry.
I'm not going to get into another pointless fucking argument, when I know damn good and well that the other person isn't going to listen to me.
As a great man once said; "You have a right to your opinion, but so do I. And my opinion is that you have no right to your opinion." So shut the hell up, and leave it alone. Please don't reply. I know I won't be.
You could tell Floyd and Dillinger were not killers at heart. Both preferred to run away rather than shoot it out. Baby face Nelson on the other hand was a real phyco....

its just a diffrence of opinion. You are only making yourself sound arrogant by flaming.

P.S.
No, getting angry over the internet does not make me hard. It just makes me frustrated.
Now, what would make me hard would be to meet you in real life, disembowel you, then strangle you with your own intestines.

I think you may have a mental disorder if you are thinking about those kind of things.

Thanks.

But again I dont look for hisorical evidence in hollywood movies, and I see no point in getting so passionate about a discussion at youtube.
lollzheimer 2 years ago
I appoligize, sir.

Thats fine, man, no worries! I too get pissed of by such things, but I cant get myself to be mad at ignorant dorks at youtube!

Thank you. It feels good to not be arguing with someone.

you said that you would strangle him with his intestines, and you are trying to say you were being civil.

I trying to be civil LONG before I said that, at the start of the argument. Read ALL of the comments before making judements, dumbass.

@princeofbrighthaven
you posted "too fucking bad" first. so you were the first one to act uncivil. dont even try to defend yourself.
You are worthless, and just making yourself look like an whiney child who cant get what he wants.
I reccomend you stop posting on this video before you make a bigger fool of yourself.
blughlolz 2 years ago
Fine, I will.
I've already stated I'm not going to get into another argument when I know I'm not going to be listened to.
P.S.
You'll notice that when i said that I censored it. I happen to alwsys talk that way, whether I'm being civil or not.
But, anyway, toodles, asshole.
