  • You could tell Floyd and Dillinger were not killers at heart. Both preferred to run away rather than shoot it out. Baby face Nelson on the other hand was a real phyco....

  • fuck copyrights fuck sopa fuck everyone that does not allow us to pirate and watch movies on youtube

  • Pretty boy is played by Channing Tatum

  • this movie made me so sad. Charles floyd is my great great grandfather... ive never met him since he died WAY before i was born. but its still sad seeing how he died. my grandmother told me alot of stories about him while i was growing up.

  • @CaylaLOVEzYou my great grandfather is john dillenger

  • @CaylaLOVEzYou Really? That's so cool! What were some of the stories?

  • @CaylaLOVEzYou prety boy floyd was my great great great uncle

  • what kind of gun is that??

  • This film looks like crap shot on Digital.

  • Melvin Purvis never even shot pretty boy floyd. They had a local officer who was a WWI sniper shoot him in the arm with a .38 winchester and then after he refused to talk they fired an SMG at him point blank.

  • @MOMORPIGER yeah thats never been proven tho, its unclear how he died

  • @MOMORPIGER That is one of the things believed. No one knows how he died. There were theories before before the WWI sniper was interviewed in 1979 and other witness viewpoints going against that.

  • @MOMORPIGER You mean to tell me everything you see in movie's isn't real?!? No way.

  • He should've ran off the trail into those trees.

  • this guy has 2 triggers on his gun.. dont fuck with him

  • Melvin had steady Aim on.

  • I have a hair cut just like Purvis, it's still rockin' in 2011!

  • I hope he shoot me instead of him ;D

  • 1:00 *increases sensitivity on controller*

  • I always think when I watch this scene ... RUN TO THE GOD DAMN RIGHT YOU FOOL WHAT ARE YOU THINKING

  • @TheBradcake wouldnt really matter which way he ran if the man with the gun is a decent marskman. best thing to do is to get the fuck out of sight as fast as you can.

  • @TheBradcake u know u can stop ur blesphemy

  • thumbs up if you were just watchin this for the awesome song during the chase :D

  • WHAT SONG USE ETO PLAY ON THIS IM TRYING TO FIGURE IT OUT

  • The "fair use" exemption to (U.S.) copyright law was created to allow things such as commentary, parody, news reporting, research and education about copyrighted works without the permission of the author. That's vital so that copyright law doesn't block your freedom to express your own works -- only the ability to appropriate other people's.

  • Intent, and damage to the commercial value of the work are important considerations. Are you reproducing an article from the New York Times because you needed to in order to criticise the quality of the New York Times, or because you couldn't find time to write your own story, or didn't want your readers to have to register at the New York Times web site? The first is probably fair use, the others probably aren't.

  • there is no sound !!

  • the movie is wrong a fbi agent didn't shot pretty boy floyd

  • Right in the Kidney.

  • HEY I GO THERE ON A REGULAR BASIS! we fly model planes in the once orchard he was killed in. its over grown now, cant hardly tell there was an orchard there just weeds an trees and a couple batteries lol! there's a monument people look at or shoot at.... damn kids

  • Fuck copyrights....

  • what was the song in this scene

  • @richiehernandez59 otis taylor - Ten million slaves :)

  • @richiehernandez59 ten million slaves by otis taylor

  • why are top comments in 90 percent of vids immature, irrelevant, and stupid. Not hating, just saying that the majority of people who are "active" on youtube still are either in h.s. or middle school.

  • They got a few things right in this scene. Floyd was on a farm when he got killed, melvin purvis did question him, floyd did say that he was charles floyd (he hated the name "Pretty Boy Floyd", a name given to him by the press), he was wearing a blue suit, and he did pull out a .45 pistol after he got shot. But purvis did not kill him (but he did give his men the order to shoot him), floyd did not have a tommy gun with him, and he was kill a year later than depicted in this movie

  • @jbcowdery i heard that mansion shootout in the middile of the movie was actually filmed at the mansion where the original shootout happened back in the day

  • Whats with the two triggers and the modern music

  • @Snako85 As far as the double triggers go it was a common practice to give a customized or sporting rifle a double set trigger to give the rifle an easier trigger pull. Basically giving the rifle a shorter pull of the trigger to make the rifle fire. It's not as popular a practice today because rifles can have what's now known as a "2 Stage Trigger" which gives the same result but with less machining or gun smithing involved.

  • @danedw9113 how does having two triggers make it easier it looks like itd be more difficult if anything but im not to knowledgable about guns so i cant really say that for sure

  • @Snako85 Basically the trigger on the rear acts as a trip lever. If the trigger in front is pulled first the trigger has to move farther back in order to activate the sear and cause the firing pin to move forward causing the gun to fire. If the rear trigger is pulled first it allows the trigger in the front to have less movement to the rear cause the gun to fire sooner. It's very similar to how you can cock the hammer on a revolver first if you want, giving a very light trigger pull.

  • Using both triggers is not required, just as a double action revolver doesn't require the hammer to be cocked back. It's just there in case you want to have a very light trigger pull. As in the case of the above video. The first rifle shot was standard using the front trigger. The second rifle shot was slower and Bale took his time to line up the shot and didnt want to have his shot miss so he used the rear trigger first to give the main front trigger an easy, light trigger pull.

  • Anyone know who the artist is and the name of the song that was playing in this scene? The audio was disabled because of copyright bs...

  • @grannynara otis taylor - ten million slaves

  • you must stop at 1:06

  • WHAT IS THE SONG NAME PLEASE :) ?

  • @ymas4 ten million slaves

  • 1:06 owned

  • by the way he was killed going to his mothers in a corn field

  • @dictatinghobo Yea him an Nelson died on different locations then in the film!

  • @unconditionalluv is that supposed to be funny it aint neson died 3 dys later

  • @dictatinghobo Like I said they both died in different locations!

  • what is this song called??

  • @TOXICfish1000 "ten million slaves" by Otis Taylor

  • /watch?v=26Pr3oKmHn8&feature=feedf#t=0m37s Mauser?

  • Batman just fucked you up!!

  • Love the music

  • thats an awsome song!

  • Batman kills again! man I wanted Floyd to say "Why so serious?:

  • In real life, Floyd didn't die until after Dillinger's death. Why the producers did this, I do not know

  • @thedonofnapoli

I guess it was to introduce Christian Bale's character. Apparently it was the same case for Baby Face, thats hollywood for you.

  • LOL RIP Paul Allen

  • GI Joe got no scoped!

  • chingo a su madre!!!!!!!!!!!

  • And Ladies and Gentlemen, that is why when you're running from someone with a gun aimed at you, you run in zig-zags. Class dismissed.

  • @KGOperative2012 Lol ik!

  • @KGOperative2012 Or you could just take cover in the trees that are 5 feet to your left and right.

  • @KGOperative2012 no one teaches a zig=zag pattern, go back to call of duty.

  • @KGOperative2012 runing only in zig-zags doesn't help, cause that ass-hole shooting at you can point the gun in front of you while your doing one of the zigs and hit you. you gotta combine zig-zaging with other moves. either that or you should run bacwards a few yards, shoot some more, run straight, then repeat

  • @rico6073 exactly!!!

  • @KGOperative2012 its called the serpentine manuver :P

  • love this scene!

  • @DillingerCapone I thougght he died in a cornfield and then denied involvement in the kansas city massacre.

  • I never knew why he said "you're under arrest" whenever he's about a minute away from being DEAD.

  • he got it better than JD did, they just straight walked up one him withour warning and blasted his ass, I never understood why they didnt just try to arrest him.

  • LOL this Channing Tatum best role & he only lasted 2 minutes in the movie

  • HOLY FCUK channing tatum is pretty boy floyd

  • best scene in the movie. this is the PERFECT song for this scene. Every time i hear it, i feel like i should be on the run with a thompson.

  • Whoooo Go Christian Bale!

  • whoever disliked this, go kill yourself and rot in hell.

  • dont worry about me i have a big collection of 1930s gangester games and movies like the god father and this movie LOVE IT!!!!!!

  • wat was tht thing "melvin puvis" pulled b4 he shot pretty boy floyd?

  • @TheSwitchbladeKiss its a second trigger on the gun

  • @zadok23 yea i kno tht i was askin wat the second trigger does...

  • @TheSwitchbladeKiss im pretty sure it was a secondary safety that must be released before each time the rifle is fired its on some modern European rifles i believe. you make a trigger pull lighter by using a different method

  • @TheSwitchbladeKiss the rifle had a match grade trigger so before he shot him he set the trigger to make the trigger pull lighter.

  • @mosieowner017 oh ok thanks lol was tryin to work tht out for a while

  • whats that rifle he's using?

  • @hybridpyrotech Probably a springfield

  • @hybridpyrotech it is not a springfield it is a mauser 98 sporter

  • Thats a fine rifle hes got there.

  • @watchmyawesomevideos don't get to excited... it's fuckin bale... he on the same acting talent as Reeves (no that is not a good thing)

  • @Pearlharbor350 lol umadbro?

  • @Pearlharbor350 lol umad?

  • ten million slaves otis taylor

  • music?

  • Bale owned Tatum!

  • coming from an owner of a mauser 98 (the original version of the gun purvis used) and a deer hunter, i can tell you that the sound of the gun and the way he fell was extremely accurate and realistic.

  • Christian Bale will kick your fuckin ass especially if you're a lame actor like Channing Tatum!

  • It's a sporterized Mauser 98

  • the song xD always makes me laugh

  • The song is so inappropriate, lol

  • yeah it is :)

  • friggin depressing

  • yes stupid that was channing tatum.

  • Who is sining it,??

  • its Otis Taylor - Ten million slaves

  • I LOVE CHRISTIAN BALE X X

  • what kind of rifle did he use

  • It's a Mauser 98 Sporter

  • i wanna say a generic 30-06 hunting rifle with a double trigger, which is used to lessen the trigger pull of the second trigger which fires the gun, it may also be a sportorized springfiled 1903-A3.

  • favourite scene of this movie... the music and setting is just perfect :)

  • what's the music?

  • Otis, Ten million slaves

  • Song: Otis Taylor - Ten milion slaves

  • whats the song?

  • i was hoping this scene would be a flash back, and when it turned out to be an introduction, i knew they werne't going to do it right

  • I know, it's a good movie, but has a lot of historical inaccuracies. For those of you who don't get what we're talking about, IRL Pretty Boy died AFTER Dillenger.

And Purvis didn't shoot him, an old man with a 30-30 Marlin shot him first through the elbow, and then low down, through the right side. The only things about this that are accurate is Floyd's clothes and the fact that he was running through an apple orchard. They even got the gun he's carrying wrong.

  • i don't know why michael mann did this. i mean, if they got an action director (like when mike bay did pearl harbor) you deserve to get your money taken. but michael mann knows better.

  • Personally, i don't think it's Mann's fault.

You know who I blame? Bale.

Look at all the scenes that are inaccurate, and you'll notice that they all have one thing in common; they all show Melvin Purvis shooting someone he didn't. I don't care who likes it, but from what I've seen, Bale is an arrogant little prick. Good actor, but an arrogant little prick who doesn't give an Effing S**T about history, as long as he gets to be the hero, he's happy. To those of you who don't like this: FU!

  • @princeofbrighthaven

of course it has historical innacuracies. it is not a biopic.

Its an action/gangster film based on the events.

  • Their intention was not to "screw up history" their intention was to make an entertaining movie based off Burough's novel.

ITS NOT A BIOPIC. of course everything wont be 100% historically accurate. i already said that.

You can't expect every film adaptation of books or real life events to be completely accurate. people go to the movies to be entertained. they dont go for a history lesson.

  • Ok if you say so, the reason you wont debate me is because you dont have a good argument to stand on.

  • FUCK YOU, COCKSUCKER!

The reason I'm not going to "debate" you is because you're not going to fucking listen to me anyway. You're going to go on watching things like this that completely fuck up history, and you're not going to fucking care because NOBODY cares about history anymore, all they care about is how many people get shot in it, or how many boobs are shown, nobody gives a shit about what really happened anymore. as long as they're entertained they're happy. Debate that, Asshole!

  • You need to calm the hell down. Its just a movie.

Go beat off to your textbooks and stop replying to me if you dont want to debate me any further.

  • For your information, I don't fucking read "textbooks" you little shit.

And all you just did was to prove me right, so FUCK YOU!

  • You must feel so hard getting all angry over the internet and saying "fuck" in every sentence.

People will have a diffrent opinion, and defend it. I am not saying i am completely right, i am not saying you are.

its just a diffrence of opinion. You are only making yourself sound arrogant by flaming.

  • I am NOT flaming you, nor am I stating that you cannot vocalize your opinion, but when you do, try not to insult someone else's, whaich is exactly what you did earlier, and I don't care whether you meant to or not. You seem to care only about entertainment, well I get more entertainment out of watching real history being portrayed than some Hollywood imbeciles idea of what history should be.

Oh, would you look at that, I just went through that entire conversation with out saying a single FUCK!

  • P.S.

No, getting angry over the internet does not make me hard. It just makes me frustrated.

Now, what would make me hard would be to meet you in real life, disembowel you, then strangle you with your own intestines.

  • I think you may have a mental disorder if you are thinking about those kind of things.

  • Thanks.

  • Does it ever occour to you that Pretty Boy Floyd being shot by an old man, and dying after being thoroughly interrogated, makes this scene less theatrical? This movie is an artistic expression and not a historical document. If you love pure facts and history, you should stick with your books and national geographic....

  • Comment removed

  • I think you misunderstood me, I hate when movies fuck up history! I read alot myself, especially war history, and that particular subject is perhaps the most relevant in movies. But again I dont look for hisorical evidence in hollywood movies, and I see no point in getting so passionate about a discussion at youtube.

  • I appoligize, sir.

It's just that your comment sounded so much like the other guy at first that I misunderstood. Now that I have read this, I believe you and I would have much in common in real life. I don't read National Geographic, though. I prefer stories. Novels, and movies. I just prefer it when they try to tell those stories using real fact, rather than their own imaginations.

  • I will not, however, appoligise for my earlier argument.

I do not take it well when others try to cram their opinions down my throat.

If you do not believe this, then I ask you to read some older comments in the argument. I was trying to be civil at first, but he kept pushing. I don't know whether or not you'll see it this way, or anyone else, for that matter, but that's the way it felt to me. That he was pushing the idea that history didn't matter, only entertainment. Once again, sorry.

  • Thats fine, man, no worries! I too get pissed of by such things, but I cant get myself to be mad at ignorant dorks at youtube!

  • Thank you. It feels good to not be arguing with someone.

  • you said that you would strangle him with his intestines, and you are trying to say you were being civil.

    thats a laugh.

    cunt

  • I trying to be civil LONG before I said that, at the start of the argument. Read ALL of the comments before making judements, dumbass.

  • @princeofbrighthaven

you posted "too fucking bad" first. so you were the first one to act uncivil. dont even try to defend yourself.

You are worthless, and just making yourself look like an whiney child who cant get what he wants.

I reccomend you stop posting on this video before you make a bigger fool of yourself.

  • Fine, I will.

I've already stated I'm not going to get into another argument when I know I'm not going to be listened to.

    P.S.

You'll notice that when i said that I censored it. I happen to alwsys talk that way, whether I'm being civil or not.

    But, anyway, toodles, asshole.
