May he rest in peace, but he propably died doing what he loved most.

It's funny thing, how nobody never remembers and cares about the Peugeot 205. Sometimes, the dullest thing is the best.

Was Peugeot exiting ? No.

Was Peugeot remarkable ? No.

Audi started the whole thing and Lancia went with it a little bit further. Peugeot just settlet between those two Gods and created a car witch was a fast, easy and reliable. But nothing more.

PS: Without Ari Vatanen, history would be different. He was the key to Peugeot's success.

These new cars and rules that the WRC Stipulate hinder a once great sport! The power, raw talent and I dare say the heart went out of this sport with the closure of the 1986 season. Not only should the tragic losses of drivers be mourned, but the sport they stood for, that they put all their hearts into should be mourned as well. RIP Group B... Our hearts are still beating with yours.

The 6r4 wasn't one of the turbo/supercharged grb runners but still made more power than the current WRC cars, just. plus its short wheelbase and having the engine over the rear wheels is an advantage, with a good enough pilot (Colin, nuff said) The final evolution of the lancia and audi cars were something else, current wrc couldn't compete with 800+ bhp. The wrc driver would have an easier ride, and hook up better with active diffs but the group b would win, provided the driver was upto it.

Its sad to see young Henri Toivonen and Sergio Cresto celebrating their victory at MC1986 (2:50-3:11) and 5 mths later their finished in flames.. such a tragedy, he was a legend, Im sure he would become a 1986 world champ!

In 2004/5/6? (cannot remember) a metro 6r4 (probably the slowest of the Groub B Cars) came 8th despite going off backwards at 80mph, and set some fastest stage times in Ireland Overal against the WRC cars (at the hands of Colin McRae RIP) just goes to show that a well driven S1/T16/S4 could possibly still win a rally even 20 years later against modern technology.
