O aunty ji , i love your reciepe just like my moms, i would like if you could use indian names for the ingredients,. Seen many pulav reciepes this was best even better then sanjeev kapoor thanks .
I guess she's using the jain way of cooking... No Garlic and no onion.... Both of these can be added to the pulav... Go easy on the onion though.... It tends to give a sweetness to the dish that people do not like... Happy Cooking!!!
Haha! U better! It tastes great and ur tastebuggs would be in heaven! Even dough I am not from India, I love Indian food, esspecially vegetarian, spicy food! I meen, who doesn't!? Anyway good luck at the kitchen, if u already haven't made the dish, dough!:-)
one of the easiet way to keep rice seperate, is boil the water first, then add rice and cook on mid-hig flame, when its boiling add little oil, when it cooked remove the excess water by draining them using draining bowl. I do this every time they are just lovely seperate... try this i hope this will help.
@ShubhpreetC. Make sure the water is of right quantity and cook in low heat (It will take longer time) and don't open the lid often. This will let the steam out. Cooking in low heat + plus right amount of water is key.
Wow one of the simplest recipe for pulao. I loved it... I will do this soon! I slightly fry vegetables and rice and cook them together in rice cooker... may be now I shud cook both of them separately using your tips... Thanks ma'am!
nice nice nice nice nice, very nice presentation, simply superb, yummy pulao, instead of using 3spoon oil, i will use 1spoon, since i am on dieting, you cooked the rice nicely without using the electric or pressure cooker. good. thanks manjula, keep up your good work.
please can you tell me what spices go best with each foods
their are soo many diffrent spices from india i dont know what to use with each dish. example meats - rices- vegetables and sweet dishes i have most of the spices . but how to combine them i dont know i tryed soo many times but the flavor in some of my dishes are not same as i planned
manjula ji, i see you haven't used any turmeric, red chili powder, and other powdered spices. is there any reason behind that? your recipe looks wonderful. but please do let me know why those spices were avoided.. i will definitely try this. thanks! :)
very good Manjula ji, you are very straightforward and simple in your style- thats the beauty I find in you. Keep up the great work and your recipes are awesome! Thank you so much!

Nameste auntie! I want to know for how long the rice should be soaked before they are to be fried? can we use wooden spatula to handle fragile soaked rice. Should the whole cold water in which rice are soaked be drained out before being put to hot fry pan?
BLACK and GREEN CARDAMOM seem very different from each other.

I am absolutely in love with your shows and in love with INDIA!!!!!! I am just a white american and new to all of these recipes and I am so anxious to make all of these recipes for my husband. He took me to an Indian retaurant and I was very hesitant. But as soon as I took that first bite I was addicted. I now have really severe Indian cravings all the time!!!!! Thanks for sharing!
hello aunty, these videos are great! I can cook to an extent, but I really enjoyed watching your recipes. So simple and unassuming. Thank you for these videos!
This is really awesome, I am vegan and I loved the recipe, and I have a cookery contest coming up, so i will try this, but I do have a doubt, which oil is better for cooking as well as for health? Is it olive oil , coconut oil or vegetable/sunflower oil?
Anyway, thank you so much for sharing. It looks delicious, if only we could smell the sweet fragrance while watching this, if only...
coconut oil is best, and actually very GOOD for you!! My mother had a problem with high cholesterol, and I told her to eat 2 tbsp. of coconut oil every day. She got off her meds and her numbers are GREAT! :D
I don't know if my other reply went through, but coconut oil is best, as well as being really, really GOOD for you! It's GREAT for cholesterol and your heart, as well as other stuff. When you buy coconut oil though, you have to be careful to get the oil that doesn't have the smell or taste of coconut in it, otherwise your dish will taste like coconut! My mom makes brownies with coconut oil, and they're famous in town now! They are dense and flavorful and moist. coconut oil is definately best
Thank you very much Manju aunty, I am going to have a diwali party this year, and all the disches are going to come from you, it looks so good and you look like a griha laxmi standing there an showing us how to do it. Thanks soo much for this.
Thanks..very well ..Where do you recommend to buy a good wok ( no stick or other type). I bought one from walmart but started to stick at the bottom after 10/15 use.
Manjula ji I am a great Fan of ur home style cooking. U r doing great job for large viewers out here. This was amazinf recipe.

Thank you once again.

coconut oil is best, and actually very GOOD for you!!

I have one request for you to ask the camera person( I know it is out of the way request) to use the Stand / tripod as the video shakes too much and the noice of handling the video camera is also disturbing when we listen carefully to you. Thanks

I Am having a hard time finding Black Cardamom. Do you have any suggestions about where it can be purchased, online or otherwise?
