I love rich kids.... I mean, he plays great but, its not a hard solo at all. Im not here to criticize, i got no videos myself, I got no camera. but if you cant MASTER taht solo what has an artic white les paul gold trim... come on
@mustaine10 The solo's simple and sounds good with little effort. The song is tolerable, but wayyy too cheesy. And never apologise for your English ;) Even I got the message from it :)
@zWhu5tiFFIE People stick to the name on the headstock WAY too much. If I tested an Epiphone and it would turn out to be better than my Gibson - hell yeah I'd sell the Gibson and get the Epi. Moar gear for me :). But I like overall feeling on the Gibsons, e.g. the laquer they use in the Epiphones differ from the one used in the Gibsons. Also the pick-ups are better (but can be changed anyway) and I expect that the woods are better, too. Still, both are good.
@zWhu5tiFFIE The amp thingy I was using makes pretty much every guitar sound like the same (Line 6 POD), but with a real amp the differences are a bit more noticeable. However, I probably wouldn't notice the difference between Epi and Gibson if they had the same pickups, played through the POD.
And thanks, I've improved a lot but haven't made any videos for a long time, I'm such a lazy bastard :) If I only had the money and the time, I would get real recording equipment and make more vids.
@zWhu5tiFFIE To be honest, if you're playing on a gig, no one would give two shits about the name on the headstock :) I have a Korean made Explorer (kind of like the '84 "Hetfield" Gibson Explorer) and it's good. Not as good as my Gibson but still, very solid guitar. I guess it's the mojo that comes with the American/anything else than far east made instrument. It's cool to have good guitars, but they won't make you a better player :)
@L4stCaress yea, i agree on that one. i think that once you get up into decent quality gear, epiphone vs gibson or any other manufacturers up there, its very slight differences and mojo.
Your tone comes from your fingers.I was told this 10 or so years ago.I thought it was bs but it turns out that how you phrase your solos and your pick angle and position over the pickup is key and vital to your tone.Kirk cold take the setup you have and it will sound almost exactly how it sounds on the recording.Great job however.I hope my perspective will help you.
@primalsandwitch I agree. However, it was clearly too compressed and had way too much gain, therefore making such changes useless. But yeah, I totally agree. No matter how good equipment you have, all that matters is what and how you play, as in phrasing and basically all that's related to fingers.
The tone sucks - I agree. That's the reason why I sold that piece of shit. But I have to disagree with you on the effects. I don't like chorus that much (even on clean setting), and phaser/flanger works over distortion in rare occasions - but if it works, it sounds nice. But the tone is way too harsh and it has waaayyy too much distortion in it. That's why it sucks.
Nope. Instead, I bought Hughes & Kettner Edition Tube with awesome clean tones. Everyone says that this and that has good clean tones. Yet, most of them do not have good clean tone, people don't pay attention to it. This does have, and I love it. And despite the name it has a lot of gain on the dirty channel, a lot of which I don't even need.
Didn't sell the Les Paul, although I think the pups are just a lil bit too hot. And you are very true, it was shit when playing through the POD.
Hetfield plays this on the neck pickup. That's why it has that really smooth sound on the record. Sounded good bro, you missed a few hammer ons and pull offs but other than that it sounded great.
I really did play it on the neck pick up. I just do the video and the audio separately to get it as good as possible and as you can see, I just quickly switched the pick up and didn't notice that the toggle was in the middle. But it's true that in the middle position both pups are on.
If you say so.. I think it sounds just too plastic, the harsh high and a bit muddy low freqs aren't too good. But if you ment the sound as it sounded correct, then I'll agree with you.

I wish I could record problem is that im cheap and I don't even practise enough
zWhu5tiFFIE 1 year ago
@L4stCaress But Yeah If i could afford a gibson, I'd definitely go for it, I'm pretty cheap haha
my epi was £250 and the schecter im getting for christmas is £350 so I am limited on cash as you can see
And yeah Gaming, I used to love it but I'm growing out of it :S

Try adding some mood+tone to the solo with vibrato.
Also you're missing some notes.
Overall, good job.

True. I played it on the neck pick up as well, but it was still too harsh sound. But thanks.

I may be wrong, but the pick-up selector switch appears to be in the middle position. That would be both the neck and bridge pick-ups. Right?

the tone on your fade to black video sounded better. the notes are a tad harsh here. try rolling off the tone knob some and see if it helps
