My friends and I would call up the local cable channels in Milwaukee to try to talk them into carrying this station on the local network. Never succeeded. Damn this station was the best in the country for dance music. Milwaukee stations sucked compared to this, but what would one expect from such a back-azz city, compared to Chi-town?

What I miss about back then, is not only the music itself, but the variety and eclectic nature of the mixes(even top 40 radio was pretty eclectic back in the 80's). House, Garage, 70's disco, electro/freestyle, Italo and HINRG, synth -pop and new wave, the occasional dancy funk, R&B, rap,or pop song, all mashed up together. There is nothing like that now. Everything is over marketed or all sounds the same.

Nobody knew what house music was back then. DJ's started looping Italodisco cuts and mixing with other stuff right around mid 80's, that's how we got the house. It sounds like early 80's Italodisco to me though.
