How could it be stealing when the vast amount of people in nova scotia are from scottish decent, correct me if im wrong, even the name means new scotland no?
if you havent noticed, this video is of "The Royal Regiment Of Scotland" which means the band and us dancers are Scottish so we are not stealing the culture, dress, bagpipes and so on as we are Scottish too.
I'm against different nations around the World wearing out national dress and stealing our culture.
The bagpipes, kilt and tartan are Scottish culture, not American, German, Canadian or Irish. The sooner you cunts stop abusing our culture the better.
To chadstur1991 You are a disgrace dont you know your own history? Scots went to the ends of the earth there are scottish regiments in Australia, Canada, and South africa. Many Scots had no option but were forced to emmigrate. Highland Clearances mean any thing to you? Thats why there is such a strong Scottish representation in The eastern Canada provinces
This band was formally known as the band of 51 Brigade, the Scottish Division. It is a reserve band, part of the TA army in UK. With the reorganization of the British army in 2006 the band's name was changed to the Royal Regiment of Scotland. As one of the few remaining scottish military bands it has come into wider use of late. The band has gott'en better over the years and has been featured at many NS Tattoos. The pipers are from one of the reserve TA battalions. The dancers are civies.
A TA band? I believe that RRS band was formed when the Highland and Lowland Bands of Scottish Division were amalgamated. But nevertheless it's harmful that many bands have been disbanded and so there are no more many great bands and shows like Royal Tournament.
I'm against that military tattoos have became some stupid shows for all and main thing, military music has been almost forgotten. Best examples are NS Tattoo and Norweigean Military Tattoo. But luckily we still have Hamina Tattoo.
Yes, this particular band has always been TA. There is a regular army Royal Regiment of Scotland band which was formed as you say from the Highland and Lowland bands just last year or so. They have never been to the NS Tattoo. You can see them in some of the other recent tattoos on youtube. I might disagree with you about NS tattoo being a great Military tattoo. It is more a great variety show now with some military bands thrown in.
