i have a taylor 110e i have had it a few months and its my baby but i find barr chords very straining as it has 13 gauge strings, any ideas have you tried lower gauges like 12s ??? please help cheers

I had mine set up for medium gauge strings. Specifically D'Addario EXP17's. They are gauged as follows: 1-.013, 2-.017, 3-.026, 4-.035, 5-.045, 6-.056. I think the main key is to have it "set up". When you do, just tell him the kind of strings you like, and they'll do it for those. I am partial to the D'Addario's. Does that help?
