@Edsofication Peter did a great job read his letters . Read about him in ACts. Paul and Peter worked hand and hand they were both martyred on the same day .Paul being a Roman citizen was beheaded and Peter was nailed to the cross upside down . .

It's funny that all those who are not members of the Catholic Church just talk shit about it. When the only true church of Christ is the Catholic Church. Some religions have become grandiose, money grabbing, politically sinister and their message has veered from that of Jesus.
I no longer label myself with any religious identity, but I grew up appreciating some of the stories.
Being free to criticise gives you a broader perspective and a deeper empathy to man than you could ever get belonging to one church.
I'm sure you were a nice person prior to becoming Catholic, otherwise your god would have failed you.

@100cherrypie Once upon a time, the Catholic Church had swayed from the teachings of Christ. The Church has since been significantly reformed, and truly teaches the word of Christ. I'm sure you are a good person, but you really need to educate yourself a little more about the Catholic Church. I'm not sure what you're implying at the end though? I have always been Catholic, I was born into the Church. I generally try to be good and friendly to others.

Jesus was from Nazareth not Rome, he was modest not rich, he was able to communicate to all. He was not indoctrinated.

@RCman It's paranoia and conspiracies. Not all protestants feel this way, my mother is herself a Methodist. The ones who particularly dislike the Pope and Catholics are the Baptists. There is a saying about this actually, and it goes "There is not 100 people who hate the Catholic Church, but millions hate what they think is the Catholic Church." It's all a matter of ignorance and fear mongering.

But I have to say, if people would bother to learn a bit about what they hate, the hatred might just go away. I like the saying a lot, it really defines the hatred towards our church.

@jacobn92 unfortunately, i don't know whether this Pope is lawfully Pope. You see, in 1958 Cardinal Siri was elected lawfully and canonically Pope, and took the name of Gregory XVII. However he was being forced to withdraw by rebellious French cardinals and freemasons. He was kept prisoner of the Vatican until his death on 2 may 1989. That means that all the pope's from John XXIII till now are anti-Pope's. Benedict XVI was appointed his successor by anti-Pope John Paul II.
