For the record Fry is doing an approximation of an East Lancashire accent, I'd stick my neck out and say its more specifically Bury, Bolton (Fred Dibnah) Rochdale (Cyril Smith) and Rawtenstall (its the silly way they pronounce their r's). Burnley and Blackburn are very similiar but not as twangy. Im from the Fylde Coast, West Lancs or Blackpool area as you may know it and although I'm barely 50 miles from that area it does sound very distinct and comical to me.
@SerenityNoww nah it is lancastrian i have heard people quite like that its sort of someone who is camp who i've heard, he does sort of slip with the accent but at the start when he says 'don't be dirty' that voice does exist.
ABSOLUTE CLASS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I watched all of these back in the 1980's / 1990's when they were first on TV and they're still hilarious now! Shows that real comedy is timeless, long after popular shite like Franky Boyle have been and gone - this legendary wit and hilarity will remain high atop its well deserve pedestal. Big applause and copious slow snogs.
@Paradoxx211 "Rase is an anagram of arse". "Rase" being an alternative British spelling of "raze" - completely destroy : villages were razed to the ground. The other guy was saying "rase our Hardwood forests".
A certain class of person exists who derives some kind of undefined pleasure in inflicting quite excruciating pain upon the parts of their bodies which are designed to be hiddeninside pants and vest. To this end nipple-clamps and scrotal compressors are deployed, as well as a variety of serrated needles which can be inserted down the channels and pipe-work which constitute the organs of generation.
I can't believe people back then knew what some of those things were.. If not for the internet I wouldn't know my things that are usually kept in pants from my elbow.
WIGAN, near LONDON? what on earth are you talking about???? Wigan is in the north west of england, about 200 miles away. So if you are interested in Stephen's accent, it's from Blackburn. A large industrial town in Lancashire, and it's very good.

Rofl Maz! I'd vote for him! Mind you, in our lil world fantasy, I think he'd be the only bloody leader considering all the other feckwits we could choose from. Unless Hugh wants to be president...OOOOO! PRESIDENT HOUSE! That would be keeeeeewl!
Good luck getting the commoners to say all that lol! I'll be surprised if he doesn't end up being referred to as MC Jeeves.... Actually....somebody DOES need to remix that Minnie The Moocher scene from Jeeves and Wooster. I'd buy that record!
Hilarious. One of the finest comedy sketches of all time ever. My fave would have to be "Hello, we're talking about language", but this one would be right up there with the Barber's Shop("Bitchmother Come Light My Bottom") and "An Engagement Ring For Sir".
The money you've won is safe. :D
