ROG despite his age is playing the best rugby of his life, bit like Wilkinson currently. ROG should be used in games where we need tactical kicking - such as in forward dominant games against SA and Italy. Apart from that ROG is our supersub who can change game plans. Just look at the last South Africa game - nearly won it after he came on.

O'Driscoll needs to transfer to a top national team. The thing i hate in Rugby (huge flaw) is the most talented players (the backs) are completely dependent on the forwards (the less talented players who consist of 3 fatties, 2 lurchs, and 3 inbetween) to provide ball. If the forwards get dominated, the backs get no service and can do nothing

The emphasis should be on the backs..not the plodders that is the forwards. Two beanpoles should not have a greater say on who wins the game than backs..thats the case with Rugby. Its the opposite in football where the attackers (ie.Ronaldo) decide the game. The most talented players should decide it not the less talented
the backs possess the skills and the finesse with passes, footwork, running. Some forwards are also extremely fast (S. Chabal in france). Forwards are much more efficient at tackling (which is, with passes, the base of rugby). All 3rd liners are perfect examples. Forwards get a team to keep the ball, as well as they tire the other team with their endurance and strength. Forwards and backs are differently talented depending on the player, not on the position they play.
@sca1pe1 Skill is the optimum talent.. "skils pay the bills". Backs possess the skill hence greater talent requirement to be a back. To score is far more difficult than to stop...hence in a game with a hundred attempts to score a try only 10 are scored. Easier to stop than to score. Flaw in Rugby is the less talented (forwards) control possession..as the backs look on. Can you imagine the equivalent happening in football where Pele, Maradona, Ronaldo, Zidane watch their defenders hog the ball?

I already said positions don't have any different in talent, only players do. Personally, I played both forward (1st line and 3rd line) and center : both require as much concentration, and as much talent (since one person is able to handle both).
Maybe in your personal experience, backs have had more talent but that doesn't make it the same for everyone. Too many factors can have it vary.
@sca1pe1 don't waste your time mate, he just doesn't get it and probably never will. The beauty of Rugby Union is in both the competition for the ball and what you do with it once you've got it. If he wants to watch backs running in tries all day without anyone having to actually win the ball, he should watch Rugby League.

O'Driscoll needs to transfer to a top national team. The thing i hate in Rugby (huge flaw) is the most talented players (the backs) are completely dependent on the forwards (the less talented players who consist of 3 fatties, 2 lurchs, and 3 inbetween) to provide ball. If the forwards get dominated, the backs get no service and can do nothing
Can you imagine in football.. Pele, Maradona, Ronaldo, Messi, Zidane..playing in the same team.. but getting no ball due to their defence? Thats Rugby

@sca1pe1 Behave..the backs possess the skills, finesse, speed,..hence the greater talent requirement to be a back. Scoring tries is much more difficult than stopping tries
The emphasis should be on the backs..not the plodders that is the forwards. Two beanpoles should not have a greater say on who wins the game than backs..thats the case with Rugby. Its the opposite in football where the attackers (ie.Ronaldo) decide the game. The most talented players should decide it not the less talented

the backs possess the skills and the finesse with passes, footwork, running. Some forwards are also extremely fast (S. Chabal in france). Forwards are much more efficient at tackling (which is, with passes, the base of rugby). All 3rd liners are perfect examples. Forwards get a team to keep the ball, as well as they tire the other team with their endurance and strength. Forwards and backs are differently talented depending on the player, not on the position they play.

@sca1pe1 Skill is the optimum talent.. "skils pay the bills". Backs possess the skill hence greater talent requirement to be a back. To score is far more difficult than to stop...hence in a game with a hundred attempts to score a try only 10 are scored. Easier to stop than to score. Flaw in Rugby is the less talented (forwards) control possession..as the backs look on. Can you imagine the equivalent happening in football where Pele, Maradona, Ronaldo, Zidane watch their defenders hog the ball?

I already said positions don't have any different in talent, only players do. Personally, I played both forward (1st line and 3rd line) and center : both require as much concentration, and as much talent (since one person is able to handle both).
Maybe in your personal experience, backs have had more talent but that doesn't make it the same for everyone. Too many factors can have it vary.

@sca1pe1 don't waste your time mate, he just doesn't get it and probably never will. The beauty of Rugby Union is in both the competition for the ball and what you do with it once you've got it. If he wants to watch backs running in tries all day without anyone having to actually win the ball, he should watch Rugby League.

@Ali74 rugby is not a game of athletes as much as it is a game of strategy. Having forwards that can hold onto the ball and help possession of time as backs can run plays is incredibly advantageous. Just like decent blockers in American Football. As for scoring, your logic is also flawed there because some forwards are just as valuable on offense as defense. As for "easier to stop than to score" that makes literally no sense. If it were so much easier than the games would be scoreless, no?
