I "hunted" a buffalo cow last January in Texas (I actually refer to it as a buffalo harvest). I got to keep the hide, skull, & meat. The 'pasture' was about 6,000 acres. Took me two days to stalk close enough for a good shot- 75 yards, 50cal muzzleloader, iron sites, & one shot. Double lung- down within 25 yards.
We owe it to the animal to make clean, swift one shot kills. Be it a pasture hunt or free range- does not matter.
Yeah this aint a hunt..... I understand if it's culling or somehow taking out the sick ones but chasing an animal down a fence line in two trucks when the buffalo is already tame is not a fair chase. Im not a hippie at Starbucks.... common sense should tell you what's fair and unfair. I never can understand the pride in taking a picture and paying that much just to say you shot a tame buffalo. Let alone pay hundreds if not thousands to do so. Btw make a good shot! Geez it isn't that hard.

First, hunting an animal that is tame is not fair chase. Your right most of us aren't rich pricks that can shoot at domestic livestock, we are reduced actually hunting wild animals. A longbow does NOT ruin meat though a cannon will. And even if I could afford to do this I would got to Ak. or Canada hunt a WILD animal.

THIS IS NOT A HUNT!This is a disgrace to all hunters and a great disrespect to the game being "Hunted".I've never hunted Buffalo and hope to one day achieve this. Although it will be a "Fair Chase" hunt with a longbow with no sights and on foot,not chasing it from a moving vehicle with a scoped rifle. CAN YOU SAY SHOT PLACEMENT!I'm not totally disagreeing with you, i'm just saying take up the challenge,we owe it to the game we hunt.Pick up a recurve or longbow no sights,its harder but rewarding!
Where do you plan on going for this "fair chase" hunt of yours? Because there's only a handful of places in North America where you can hunt buffalo in a true fair chase sense.
I'm guessing you were too busy coming up with crap to write here to actually notice that the rifle used was an open sighted lever action. There was no scope on it.
And also, you're assuming I need to "take up the challenge". Tell me, how do you know I don't hunt with archery and black powder in addition to hunting with rifles?

Its a buffalo hunt on the Triple U Ranch in South Dakota. Did you even bother to read the description?
It actually is culling the herd. The hunter keeps the hide and skull, while the outfitter keeps the meat to sell.
