I got it for $20

When you buy the ant farm you get a mail in thing for the ants. They are like $4. Or you could catch your own.

They wont send you a queen because im pretty sure it is illegal. Ants will dig even if their isnt a queen. It is in their nature.

I love ants. I got one of those big mounds made of sticks from the ants that are black then have a red head. I grabbed a few dozen and put them in a container a WHEW they are fast at working. I hope that I can find the queen so I don't have to keep getting more. Vicious little guys. I put a mealworm in the container and they made short work of it. Where can you get the gel?

I dont know how the ants in your garden would act. Im sure they would do the same things though. I tried getting ants from my lawn before I bought my ants, but it was impossible to get more than 3 ants in at once because once i picked them up they got pissed off and ran really fast. And if you have the lid on tight. They cant escape.
