I've been searching for this for a long time! Most people play the open G tuning with the bottom string tuned to a D, and I was looking for a video that showed the bottom string tuned to a G, and finally found it. Thank you :)
Ooooh. I don't think I will be trying to tune my guitar UP 3 notes. I suggest instead capoing on the 3rd fret, and then tuning the other strings down.
It is bad news for your guitar and your strings to tune the guitar UP.

And if you've ever tried tuning your strings UP above standard tuning, and had to go to the music store, pick up an ENTIRE new set of strings, and replace that one string that you just broke to tune to one song, then you would know what I'm talking about. So...
no one wants to listen to your petticoat crap so selling yourself and concentrate on the lesson.

That's not the actual open g tuning it's DGDGBD. But that's a good invention of another open g tuning.
