  • None of the blue states are blue anymore...

  • Uhhhhh because fast food and junk food are much easier to buy are more cheap than healthy good foods like fruits and veggies. That answers the whole question

  • @liljuve13 However there is no relation on the graph to states with people with lowest income and obesity. So while what you say is true it doesn't really show up on the charts.

  • This is bullshit! Most junk food is cheap. Eating below budget means eating junk food nowadays. Fruits & vegetables are much more experiensive because of how the government kiss the ass of corporate lobbyists.

  • @Pepper6464 I think he meant a calorie budget. Maybe you want to think about dismissing this as bullshit.

However you make a good point. A lot of public welfare funds would be much better spent subsidising fruit and vegetables to make them more readily affordable. Lobbyist get away with what they do because the majority of the electorate are too uneducated or apathetic to be outraged. Good quality education is the answer in my opinion.

  • "If there were potatoes and bread in the 80's, myth busted!"

    Idiot.

  • addicts to junk food are like addicts to smoking, go cold turkey..

  • lol

  • You mock people who count macro nutrients and exercise cardio/strength training and then tell people who are 'eating mcdonald's burgers so they won't be able to follow the food pyramid' to do capoeira and indoor rock climbing? Are you kidding me?

I'm sure we don't disagree on the major issues but wow...

  • lÔl_i_fëÈl_sò_l0Nélÿ_tôDÀY

  • Food is way cheaper in America than UK on average. Fuel is too!

  • (cont), Also it seems as if our food and drug companies have successfully tricked many people's taste buds into having no taste for fruits and vegetables. If you dont eat vegetables and fruits, you're a time bomb waiting to explode. It's not a matter of if, it's a matter of when..The when comes early. We've got many 30 year old men walkin around with canes in USA... :\ sad

  • I really think this is a plan by elitists to kill off a huge portion of the American population cause we were starting to live too long. Read these books, Seeds of Deception by Jeffrey (someone) and Sweet Deception by Mercola. Also "The world according to Monsanto is a good reference. If you go to poor areas of the USA, fresh food is very expensive and not widely available, yet there are toxic fast food restaurants on every corner.

  • chemicals are the problem. read the ingredient label! if you cant say it, then dont eat it!

  • F.I.L.T.H.Y.

  • What bullshit stupid generalizations "Americans eat like pigs".

Some do. Some don't. Perhaps those who do are justified.

It's all just part of nature. Part of competition and the goal of acquiring more.

  • Americans eat like pigs. The title of this post is ridiculous. People eat like fat, greedy, disgusting slobs and are therefore fat. I like how, according to this, learning is too hard for poor stupid Americans.

  • @sidecar771 , Gee I'm an American (USA) and I'm 6'1" 177 lbs with a 32 inch waist. I would hardly call that gluttonous as you put it in so many words. I've been slender all my life. Not all Americans are alike, and generalizing like that really makes you look like an ass.

  • @SpazChat You fall outside the normal statistical curve. Americans are not genetically programmed to be overweight, rather it is the result of a failure to discipline the appetite for the pleasure of eating. What passes for an appropriate portion in the good ol' USA is off the charts pretty much anywhere else. This problem could be gone in a year if people had the will and good sense to do it ...They don't, hence the rant.

  • @sidecar771 . Well obviously they don't care. All these other contributing factors perhaps are delusion and scapegoating. However, I do know that Americans eat tainted food. It's not normal to be eating food with the plethora of preservatives and salt that are in our food. On top of that, I can't tell you how many times I've met people that proudly proclaim they don't eat vegetables. And some claim they don't eat fruit either. It's scary. Those people are asking for heart attacks, diabetes, etc

  • @SpazChat most americans are fat, that is a fact i can jogg faster than most of the people in my city.

  • @Visser0x , Well too bad for them. They're fat because they have no discipline and don't want to get educated about what is healthy and what is not. They'd rather eat 10 hamburgers per day and do things like skip all the vegetables at buffets....That's not hyperbole. I've seen it with my own two eyes.

  • I've been a vegan (for animal rights) since 1984, and I'm overweight. My BMI = 28.

This whole issue of obesity is just a distracting side-issue. Yes, I get disgusted by ANY form of extreme greed: gluttony for food, but MUCH worse: greed for trillion-dollar taxpayer bailouts for rightwing fanatic banksters and their Republicrat slaves. But, overpopulation and factory farming (holocaust for animals) are the #1 problems in this world.

  • @mphello

    ok honestly. thats not true.

  • @MrJahka Everyone thinks their pet issue is the #1 issue in the world.

Ok - you're right: NO issue is #1. If you're in prison, gettting out is the #1 issue - to you.

If you think an asteroid will destroy earth in 100 years, that's #1 issue for you.

  • @mphello

The thing is, factory farming is a silly issue. Domesticated animals are just that domesticated. Chickens don't have a natural habitat, cows don't, pigs don't. Their biological function is to be food. It's the food chain. The animals don't suffer anymore than a lion suffers. It's all they know. You just can't empty out factory farms or you'd kill all the animals.

  • @MrJahka Maybe silly to you, but not to the animals tortured and murdered inside.

All other issues, like childhood obesity, are silly issues. And when I lobby hard to put you in prison for eating meat, I guarantee you won't consider it a "silly" issue. And stop yakking about unrelated issues regarding lions.

People put people into prison for all sorts of silly reasons: killing a cop. Eating meat isn't one of them.

I know you have zero mental ability to see things any other way than

  • @mphello animals are domesticated. They don't have a natural habitat. The animals we eat regularly are the most plentiful of all other animals (except insects). Pigs/cows/chickens do not exist in any other function than to be eaten by man. If we stopped taking care of them, every single one of them would die. Killing a cop isn't silly, caring about how an animal that actually does better under human captivity is poorly treated is silly when compared to the actual serious issues of today.

  • @MrJahka And this is why we should outlaw the breeding of animals for food. Besides the fact that it is murder and torture, it also needless wastes land and water and gasoline, causing starvation to other humans.

  • @MrJahka chickens might die off but cows and pigs would most liekly go feral and regroup with wild boars and buffilo

  • I believe the biggest reason its a problem is Americans don't get enough exercise...the human body was never designed to sit for 8 hours a day at work, and then come home and do the same. Our bodies were desinged to be active from sun up to sun down 10-12 hours. So if you want to be average weight you can either exercise more or cut down your calorie intake. Our diet is not that outlandish as far as calorie intake when you compare it to hundreds of years ago.

  • Magnificent video! The reason Americans are getting fatter and fatter is simple: A Lack of knowledge in basic nutrition. Many Americans think dieting is ordering a #1 at McDonald's without "supersizing" it or maybe getting a diet coke with your Big Mac and fries. Not acceptable. Less and less people get out of their house to do any kind of physical activity. They eat 4,000 calories a day and only burn off around 500 calories. Take the goddamn fork out of your mouth your fat slobs!

  • fat mississippi motherfuckers

  • sigh...the only way we could be abl e to reverse the trend is to allow the moms to be home with their kids until the youngest are 10 (i know it sounds radical) this wasnt as bad until the 80s, when many had to go to work, and they had NO COMMUNITY grandparents or friends to help out----daycare wouldnt help much if the kids want to be alone without 20 kids in the room with the adult

  • oh shit my state was one of the first obeise states :(

  • You stole The Myth Busters idea you fucking dam bitch asshole ass faces go to he'll or I will kick your ass!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Thumbs up for Tekken 3 reference! :D

  • BREAKFAST: large bowl of oatmeal, large glass of skim milk, piece of fruit

LUNCH: Turkey sandwich on whole wheat bread, mustard, lettuce ,tomato, onion, peppers, pickles, with olive oil and vinegar, 2 pieces of fruit, & vegetables

DINNER: grilled chicken breast, *HUGE* PILE OF RAW OR STEAMED

VEGETABLES, 3 ounces of whole wheat pasta

SNACKS: small amount of nuts, dried fruit, VEGETABLES

EXERCISE:30 minutes of rigorous(treadmill, swimming, etc) exercise EVERY DAY

DO THIS EVERY DAY. ANY QUESTIONS?

  • first of all, the food pyramid is the problem. second, that man, no matter how good his intentions are, doesn't remember the 80's. bread and potatoes were invented in the 80's, not 90's. this is also the reason for the explosion of type 2 diabetes. if you don't eat these two things and try and count calories, you'll loose weight and your blood sugar will stay around 120.

  • Colorado was a good standing state, repusent!

  • Comment removed

  • it says for people 5'4", how many people in these states are that short I wonder? Seems the statistics are a little a skewed. More so the study is percentage of people per state that are 5'4" AND 30 lbs. overweight...

  • @cnuts83 It says if your BMI is equal or over to 30 OR approx 30 lbs overweight for a 5'4" person. BMI takes height and weight into account. The estimate for a 5'4" person is a sense of perspective. It's a lot of extra weight.

  • This is informative, although it doesn't cover ALL of the reasons... it simply states "obesity." But the video does give numerical facts, and ways in which to curb it... not all of them, but some is better than none.

Excuses are terrible for attempting to NOT resolve situations. If someone is happy being unhealthy, that's fine. But people who are anxious to find the reasons and answers will be interested in watching this--simplicity.

  • Oh, and a large meal with a diet coke isn't just like a medium or small meal with a normal coke. A half-gallon of soda is a half-gallon of soda is a half-gallon of soda.

  • It's not gotten worse.

    The word is got.

  • While the majority of this information is true, head over to your food supply and see how much corn syrup, and corn starch are added to your basic foods, and then ask yourself why we feed corn to our beef, pork and poultry sources.

    Hmmmm..... make the connection?

  • @mbshus I noticed how generyicly modified corn might have to do with mass produced insulin(gmo).

  • @singlaprety12 Genetically modified corn has nothing to do with obesity but corn syrup, used as a sweetener in so many products, has a lot to do with it.

  • 3:43 I never heard of any of those words! :O

  • It also doesn't help when you have other people paying your doctor bills for you. People might want to be in better health if they had to pay for their own meds and care.

  • There is one thing this video forgot to mention: PORTION SIZES. Since the 1980s, portion sizes have increased dramatically. If you buy any kind of food at a restaurant, snack stand, movie theater, etc., chances are good that the portion size is probably much bigger than it would have been in the '80s. Today's "small" is probably about as big as a "medium" or even a "large" would have been 25 years ago.

  • people nowdays eat fast food...

to answer the question to the title

  • fat people are taking over

  • Islam is the answer to prevent Obesity . Search this video on youtube:

    "Obesity and Eating in Islam"

  • @ChangaManga1000

That is like saying "The Tahitian Banana Bod is the answer to obesity"

    Allah does not exist....

  • @NaomiChambers ,google this:

"Allah Exists.com - This site is based on the works of Harun Yahya."

  • @ChangaManga1000

    Google this

"Allah is imaginary and you are wasting your life"

  • @NaomiChambers , I am surprised at your level of ignorance and arrogance. People like you call your self civilized but do not behave accordingly. I am only 16 y old,but I am more civilized than you. All that you have done in life is reading anti-islamic sites,no wonder you cant see the Truth.

  • @ChangaManga1000

Did I call you ignorant and arrogant for believing in magical sky daddy? Nope. I didn't.

The fact is that you can call me as many bad names as you want. The fact of the matter is, unlike most Muslims I actually read the Quran and formulated my own opinions

I hope you can see the truth one day - that you have been wasting your life on religion... it is really sad when I think about it

  • @NaomiChambers ,the fact that you say I belive in a "daddy" in magical sky, prooves your stupidy and ignorance. In Islam we dont belive in any "daddy" in any "magical sky" either. The fatc that you formulate your own opinions from Quran, shows how astary you are in your thinking ,and have no knowledge about Islam.

  • @ChangaManga1000

    1. Whelp - you do believe in a sky daddy. If you want to call me names for stating the obvious fact, then go for it. But you do believe that Allah will spank you for breaking his moral laws.

    2. I have read the Quran...and I have already written about 200 pages about Islam. The book is called The Atheist Guide To Understanding Islam. If you go to my channel you can download some of my essays on the topic. I know this religion better than most Muslims do.

  • @NaomiChambers,you are delusional regards Islam. Allah doesnt spank anyone.

    2. you dont know nothing about Islam.

  • @ChangaManga1000

The "Allah Spanking" was a metaphor you silly goose.

I do not literally believe Allah bends you over his knee and spanks you with a paddle. That is silly

  • @NaomiChambers , you complain of that muslims are using " name calling". Yet you practice it your self calling me "silly goose".I think that is called hypocrysy.Slavery hasnt got nothing to do with Islam.

  • @ChangaManga1000

Well, you did say that Allah does not literally bend you over his knee and spank you. You failed to understand that this is merely a metaphor

    Hence...you are a silly goose

  • @NaomiChambers ,I didnt fail to understand the metaphor. I knew exactly what you were saying. But I just wanted to see how stupid, ignorant and arrogant you were.

You can not disprove there is a Creator.

  • @ChangaManga1000

Wait a tick. Didn't you say that I was a bad person for saying 'silly goose' yet you are calling me stupid, ignorant, and arrogant.

Wow. What a religious person you are. I am sure you have made your imaginary allah very proud of you. Congratulations!

  • @NaomiChambers ,You claim I am "religious". Now you can refer to only one single message from me where I have said : " I am religious". I have never said that. And you beeing ignorant and arrogant is not name calling. It describes what you are in terms of your level of knowledge of Islam.

  • @NaomiChambers , you say that you are an atheist. Fair enough. Bring your " proof " of your claim that there is no Creator.

  • @ChangaManga1000

This is a question that I have answered a million times to you Muslims.

If I asked you, "Please prove that the Tahitian Banana god is NOT real." Could you prove it? Of course not.

In logic, the burden of proof always rests upon the person making a claim. If one claims that the Tahitian Banana god is real - we do not have to believe until THEY prove it. The logical fallacy is called Appeal to Ignorance

  • @NaomiChambers ,you dont need to ask me about " Tahitian Banana..." you can ask the Tahitians that questions, because we muslims belive only in Allah. So you bring your proof that the Creator doesnt exist.

  • @ChangaManga1000

I sware there must be something mentally wrong with you.

HYPOTHETICAL QUESTION....Can you prove the Tahitian Banana God does not exist. YES or NO

You Cannot prove a negative because nobody can.

ERGO -no person can prove Allah or the Tahitian Banana God or Zeus do not exist.

Get it??? GET IT ??? Think Forrest Gump????

  • @NaomiChambers ,There is definately something wrong with you, because you cant even write the word "swear" in your native language ,insttead you wrote SWARE.

Bring your proof that the Creator doesnt exist.

  • @ChangaManga1000 can you prove that the flying spaghetti monster doesnt exist? same evidence as your joke of a god

  • @Innovater6 ,Can you proove that the Creator doesnt exist?

  • @ChangaManga1000 you can't disprove things that are not real, can you prove that there are not invisible fairies at the bottom of my garden?

  • @Innovater6 ,im not interested in the faries in your garden. Just answer my question.

  • @NaomiChambers ,I also want to add that you can spew your hatred ,and anti-Islamic things as much as you want .but this religion Islam is the oldest religion that ever was (search this youtube):

"Jewish Rabbi admits Islam is the oldest religion"

and this Islamic religion will soon prevail over all other religions.

  • @ChangaManga1000

    1. You are the one that hates athesits. I do not have Muslims. I am only trying to help you

    2. Being an old religion, or young religion - IS COMPLETELY IRRELEVANT. It is a fallacy to think that being old some how makes something right or wrong.

    3. Who the heck cares what some Jewish Rabbi says? Irrelevant. People say lots of things. Words are not proof that one religion is right

    4. Islam will fail like all religions have failed... accept it!

  • @NaomiChambers,you say that I hate Atheists. I ask you to give one refrence of my messages to you where I have said " I hate ATheist". liar. The truth is that I dont hate anyone.

    2. Beeing old prooves what we muslims has said regards Islam.Islam is th eonly religion preached by all Prophets. And the jew rabbi was confirming it.

    3. Words can be backed up by evidence.

    4. Keep dreaming.Islam has come to stay and will prevail. Just look around on YT non muslim are rushing to accept Islam.

  • @NaomiChambers , Though we muslims dont belive in fortune tellers, just to make a point about what I said, instead of cheking up Islamic sources check the nom islamic source Nostradamus.Read what he said about the prevailing of Islamic religion at the hands of a holy personality(Imam Mahdi) that will lead the whole world under one religion (Islam). I can also give you other sources that you can read upon, and see that those thinsg foretold so many years ago,

    are happening today.

  • @ChangaManga1000

Who the heck cares about Nodstradamus? Irrelevant. That is all mumbo jumbo

You are a very gullible person.

  • @NaomiChambers ,if you read my message i wrote. We muslims do not belive in Nostradamus ,but to proove a point i gave him as a reference to you, because I thought maybe you belive in non islamic sources.

  • @NaomiChambers ,and where is your book :"The Atheist Guide To Understanding Islam" ? I cant find it on google. PM me the link.

  • @ChangaManga1000

I am still writing it. I have already finished most of it. You can go to my channel and download a 15 page sample. I wrote about Islamic slavery, but I also wrote about slavery practiced by Christians, Jews and other parts of the world.

I recommend downloading it for free and reading it.

  • Yea I live in Michigan and all summer long I've been trying to spot fat people, but all i see are hot people. I don't live in a very affluent area either. They walk around with slurpees in their hands and look great. Does little for my self esteem, even though i myself am not overweight. Maybe i should move to one of these obese states. lol Where are these obese people/kids the media speaks of?? Sure there's the occasional 40 year old fat person at Sonic, but for the most part, people are fit.

  • @kacey7707

    Maybe the fatties stay indoors

  • Damn, southerners love being fat, oh shit there goes IOWA now. son of a bitch I thought sweetcorn would be lean!! It's High fructose corn syrup, aspartame, sweetners, food that is FULL OF FUCKING CHEMICALS

  • Don't eat processed foods and you won't be a fatass.

  • Hm interesting video. To be honest i see more & more ppl getting overweight. I live in Utah and damn they r lazy u dont see ppl at the parks jogging or ppl in bikes well some but they arent americans! Its sad in a way cos really all they have to do is eat healthier, get some exercise each day & pass it down to the next generation. I see a lot of ppl at fast food places. Like my brother said "Americans dont like to cook"...maybe i dunno. But walking a mile each day wit the family goes a long way.

  • I just get a kick out of all the skinny bitches blaring about "how easy" it is to lose weight! The easiest way to explain how hard it is for some people to lose waight would be comparing it to someone who smokes going cold turkey! So no, its not so easy!!! In todays society fatty foods are more common than healthy food. I'm fifteen and iv'e always been overweight. Are you gonna tell me i was eating french fries and cheeseburgers as a baby? This problem is genetic as much as it is lifestile!!!

  • @Tharagus Look I understand your position. I was overweight throughout most of my life as well. Only recently have i lost weight.(240-180) However while genes do have a factor in obesity you cannot hide behind it. I will say that imo one problem that overweight people do have is the lack of motivation. For me I fell in love with a girl which made me decide to actually get in shape. If an overweight person isn't willing to find a way to eat healthier and to exercising he/she will stay overweight

  • @Tharagus (Part2): Basically what I am saying is that if you truly want to lose weight you can (especially if you are in your teens) but you actually have to want it enough.

  • its easy, dont be so damn lazy and you wont get soo damn fat. i understand genes have something to do with it, but how can you get fat if you dont eat fatty foods? where is the fat comming from? Go for a walk, eat right, quit blaming mcdonalds happy meals for your problems. just like a typical american, blame someone else for your own problems, then cry for help when it all goes wrong

  • We have grown fat because of convenience. More people working and spending less time doing anything else. Fast food took over and hidden tactics were used in growing food and/or preparing it.

  • what?:O

  • This is a stupid video. The first thing the video does in response to the obesity epidemic is point the finger at the ineffectiveness of dieting. That's ridiculous, because it doesn't answer why people are getting fat in the first place. People were not on an perpetual diet before the 1970s. Dieting is a response to obesity, not the cause of it. And really, I shouldn't have to explain that, it should be obvious if you actually thought about the problem. Also, a calorie is not just a calorie.

  • So roughly half the people in first world nations are irresponsible? Come on. This is not a motivational issue; it's a physiological and political one. Starvation diets do not work for the vast majority. 97% of participants end up back where they started or worse. We all know these people. We see them every day. They are not irresponsible. They're misled!

The real cause is sugar. Cut out sugar and refined grains. Control your insuln levels! .

CGAC - All 15 members funded by Big Sugar!

  • love the simplicity you show here. im going to post this on my Facebook for everyone to watch.

  • Hey im writing a paper about eating behavior of americans and i would appreaciate it if everyone could go take my survey, it will only take you 5 minutes. just go to my profile. thank you :)

  • I think obesity is caused excessive obesity in the us is by excessive portions of food even eat 3 times more than is eaten in the uk despite we have obesity but not to the excessive portions that there are in the states I think uk hasn't got as big as people get in the us is because we have free medical care and support str8 away when its need also when theres state funding available we can get weightloss ops I got big fr being sexually abused and bulied and also fr being disabled too

  • @DanielR305 , Actually it's caused by number of things, one of which people never mention and forget about. That is, PRESERVATIVES and processed foods.. They can hamper learning and concentration and affect behavior negatively. The other reasons are obvious

  • kentucky and their KFC :) they are the source!!!

  • I've been losing weight forever and still the progress is slow.

  • thats cause the south based diet is...fried thgis, fried that, pork this and pork that gosh they even eat "fat back" which I never even heard of until I moved to NC (I guess its that fat off a pigs back thats fried"

  • oh it's aweful. I suffer from mild obesity before but i am thanksful I found this tool that helps me to get fit. visit moveto . ws/b5sahiqle

  • Beyond that, the problem is not in the mind but in the brain. If someone has a brain chemistry signal delay in the switch that is used to signal the "full" feeling, its really not the persons fault. IN fact that might be the first way to help the problem, admit its not your fault. It doesnt mean you can change, just start with the truth is all.

  • @sucharadder, yes, there is a rare disorder where people don't ever feel full. Those people don't have control, it is not their fault. However, everyone else isn't suffering from a delayed feeling, they are just eating too fast. If you eat too fast, you eat more than you need to feel full because the feeling of fullness is not immediate after you swallow food. If you eat slower you give yourself a chance to feel full after the right amount of food.

  • Diet Smart (Fibre in your breakfast, avoid eating late at night, dont drink your calories, etc), Fun Exercise, Reduce/Manage Stress, Sit on a balance ball instead of a chair, and Get Enough Sleep. - I guarantee you will lose weight in one month.

  • i run a grocery store and people in general have awful eating habits. I think personal choice is important but it is unfair for others (tax payers) to be burdened with medical costs for the many obese who cannot the health care required to combat obesity.

  • @repodonkey, I agree. I find it horrible that people are getting weight related surgeries because of their choices when others, who can't help that they need surgery now will have to weight longer because of the time being taken up. Also, I live in Canada, so my money is being used to treat people who have consistently and willfully made bad choices.

  • if pepole want to be fat let them be Fat

stop telling us what to eat

    this is america

kids are not fat from soda their fat from playing video games

  • Wouldn't be the mexicoons now would it?

  • Search "Morbid Obesity" on Krustbox (dot) com

  • Lack of personal responsability and poor self controle...THATS why north america is obesse.

  • And the point is - you have to change lifestyle F-EVER. Not just for a few months or years.

I have to live like this for the rest of my life. Not necesarily counting chalories, but continuing chosing desent food and exercise. There is no way around it, sorry. But I don´t live on salad! So as I marked - it doesnt have to be that difficult!

  • I´m counting chalories. Its not as hard as it sounds. You can still eat normal portions, if you choose the right food. I eat everything, but just a little bit of everything. And I exercise every day, but just a little. I have still lost more than 10 kg in 3 months. I´m still overweight, but no longer obese.

There are no shortcuts. If you want to lose weight you have to change your lifestyle. But it doesnt have to be that hard.

  • Is this a joke? You cant tell me all these people are Obese, maybe simply overweight, but not Obese.

  • Since the v begining of humankind, certain people have always been week and pathetic failing to take responsibility for their failings, blaming evedryone but themselves. Truth is fat people fall into this category. They are weak, pathetic, spoilt, grotesque, disgusting and lazy. Till they accept that fact, take responsibilty for it and decide to do something about it then they will always be the way they are - living unfulfilled lives

  • @londonmarc1 What a horrible stereotype you have created. Most fat people are fat due to genetics or a low motabolism. Not that they are too weak and lazy to get up off the couch. And people like you don't really make any fat people feel better about themselves. Yes, just keep bashing all the fat people, i'm sure that will raise thier self esteem and concvince them to lose weight!!!

  • America is a fat ass country we have to live with that

  • Well, nobody is willing to take responsibility for their lives. We have been taught that nothing is our fault.

People are fat, because they eat too much. PERIOD!

  • yeah ur right but its not only about the eating habit its all abut our life style for me i eat so much but i burn so much too so u get the point

  • Well, that right. People eat like welfare bums, then wallow around in fart gas all day in front of their TV. Pathetic!

And we wonder why people are getting fat.

    F.A.T. - Fatal, Awful, Terrible...

  • Exactly, people blame their genetics or fast food as to why they're obese/overweight, when they only need to look in the mirror.

(Excluding of course the TINY minority of people with REAL obesity problems.)

  • @FitnessBobby i totally agree with you on that. it all boils down to an individuals atitude.

  • @FitnessBobby Unless you have a doctors note saying that its your disability, "i'm trying" is an excuse for "whoops I ate one too many burgers today" bs. btw if your fat you should pay for the extra space you steal from the passenger next to you when traveling on a airplane or bus.

  • @FitnessBobby

    I couldn't agree more.

    Fat people love excuses

"I am fat because i cant help it! I am fat because it is in my DNA! " Then they create defense mechanisms

  • i dont think someone 20 lbs overweight is obese. I realize it may be technically obese, but Im sorry it isnt. To me obese is when someone is 75 lbs or more overweight. Thats how they used to define it before all of this BMI non sense.

  • 20lbs is likely more than 10% of your weight. That's quite a lot. Enough to be classed as obese.

  • 20 lbs overweight is not obese. I dont care what any chart says.

  • BMI is not the best way to determine if someone is overweight. Yes it deals with weight and height, but it does not deal that weight is not just fat its made out of muscle, and bones too. If you have plenty of muscle, than your not overweight. Athletes should not follow the BMI chart because Muscle weighs more than fat.

  • most people aren't athletes

  • @sarinam2067 Theres plenty of athletes.

    track runners/footballers/soccer/tennis/baseball/gymnastics/bodybuilding etc.

  • soda is a big problem

  • Soft drinks contain over 100 calories per 12 ounces(1 can).. Beer, Wine, Juice and milk can contain just as much if not more calories as well. If you're body has an excess amount of calories then it will store whatever you eat (whether its vegetables, whole wheat grains, sunflower seeds, top salmon, fresh chicken) and turn it INTO fat. It's better to have healthy diet, but losing weight can be done simply by watching calories. Exercise helps too, but it doesn't have to be complicated either

  • This video is full of misinformation and lacks important information, as well. It attacks some perspectives as "unscientific," but only pushes opinion. Zacking included some statistics, but NO scientific data whatsoever. Although there are good points regarding the kind of advice people receive, this video does more harm than good.

  • I wouldn't say it's full of misinformation. I've lost over 90 lbs by watching calories and 30 mins of cardio 5x a week. It wasn't hard either, very easy and I still eat whatever I want. I feel WAY more healthy too.

  • Why does this video bash, strict exercise routines.. yes, they are not for everyone but they will yield the best results.. People have to have self confidence, control, and ambition.. a six pack abs won't come from salsa dancing.

  • @Teromi , I'm glad you blogged that, cause I was thinking the same thing. I've gotten fantastic results by going to the gym every day and lifting weights, in combination of a good diet, instead of junk and tons of water. I've lost 15 lbs and have a much better shape. This video is full of misinformation. I don't know of anyone who has gotten a six pack of abs or increased muscle mass ratio by salsa dancing-that's preposterous.

  • @BlogShag Did you two follow this at all? America has a population that is OBESE. Six-pack abs may be aesthetically-pleasing to some, but if your BMI is 30 or above, they're a LONG way off in the future. The video is talking about a lifestyle change, which is going to have to be simple to "stick" for most people. If someone who is obese starts a regular exercise regimen and healthier diet and sticks to it, that is fundamental.

  • @2cobber Lifestyle change? Are you serious? How about not scarfing down 5 burgers in one sitting or sittin' in front of the boob tube or YOUTUBE with 3 bags of chips, and a big GULP. And how about not thinking you have to be chompin' on something just because you are at the theatre to watch a movie. That might help. And don't tell me I'm exaggerating, cause I'm not. I've seen it with my own two eyes. USA eating habits are disgusting.

  • lazy and uneducated. I fear for the future of America.

  • Its so easy for you to sit back and say this. If you have never been overweight, you probably dont understand that its something that is not a simple matter of diet and exercise. There are a lot of thin people who eat much more than I do and never exercise. I exercise every day and I have changed my eating habits. While I have lost weight, I am still very overweight. I will never give up on trying to get healthy so people like you wont be so grossed out by us ugly fat people.

  • I understand for many its a matter of genetics but for others it is indeed choosing to eat junkfood and not moving around.

Hey, some of my favorite comics are "big".

  • don't lose weight just to make people less grossed out. Lose weight becuase it will stop you having a heart attack

  • Comment removed

  • @amcadam26 thin people can have heart attacks for sure. Especially if they smoke and eat junk.

  • Ditto!

  • Don't worry about what the "FitnessBobbies" of the world have to say about your weight, they are irrelevant. What matters is your health, and that is the real reason why you should want to lose weight. It takes time but eventually you will get there. Good luck.

  • @ForeverAnalog, really? I was overweight and it was a simple matter of diet and exercise. I'm glad that you are trying to be healthy and have lost weight. What a lot of people get wrong is that it has to be a lifestyle change, you don't have to eat perfect (just smart), and effort is more important than time in exercise. If you don't push yourself enough, the time is entirely wasted unless you're doing endless hours.

  • @ForeverAnalog then dont call yourself or other overweight people :"ugly fat people"

  • @ForeverAnalog

No... it IS just about diet and exercise. I was ridiculously overweight a few years ago. Through eating right and working out (as well as making an effort to be more active in my daily life) I finally got down to a normal weight. Stop whining, put down the hamburger, and pick up a dumbell!

  • @Doliath Through diet and exercise I lost 85 lbs, yes. But it took me 5 years! And I did gain some back because of mistakes, but most people do not have that kind of patience that I have. I still have 30 more lbs to lose before i can consider myself "lean".Its hard as hell work, and not for the faint of heart. The longer you have been overweight- THE HARDER it is. So many thin people put on 20 lbs and take it off, and say "oh this is easy". Of course it is, for them.

  • @Doliath You probably were not THAT overweight or for very long. People who struggle with diets over the years makes it harder for the body to respond to diet and exericse. Especially those who have health issues from another source. Certain types of medications also make it harder to lose weight. Im not saying everyone who is fat cant help it, but its different for each person. A thin person who puts on 20 or even 40 lbs can lose weight easy. But a person who has been heavy for along time cant

  • I don't get how people are so obese...I mean I eat anything I want and though I do lift a lot of weights I don't run and sit around a lot...Yet I am extremely skinny.

  • I bet you anything, if you actually kept a log of how much you eat, it's probably not enought o make you obese, you just think it is.

  • U wanna know something, I havean enlightening theory as 2 some ofthis...U everstopped 2 think that SOME fat ppl actuallythink theylookgood? Iknowit sounds nutsbutthinkaboutit. They look@leaner people as sick.&thin 2 them =unhealthy. Thin2themmeanssick. Thin2 themmeansAIDS, seriouslymy cousin is obese and he is so paranoid of death and dying, they think they r healthy. If u ever c a fat person They like the pale skin and rosy cheeks and cherub like appearance they believe they have. SAD BUT TRUE.
