  • Let's think here... The American Dairy business, is big business. Let's be honest now, milk is pasteurized so it last long, in many cases 2 months, that's all, it means more money. Unpasteurized milk lasts about 7 days, which means the big dairy companies lose. Notice they did not say people are dying from drinking raw milk. It is fine, as long as it is done on a clean and well maintained farm. This bill will support local farms, it is good for local economies.

Food in its natural state is best

  • Freedom is only bad for your health if you are a moron.

  • Incoming trolls coming in defense of their government paychecks in 3.2.1.

  • This video is a prime example of corporations brainwashing this country! We are smarter than that!

  • Shut up and eat your GMO, MSG, Hydrogenated oil, artificial color and flavor and empty calories garbage food ..... :P

  • the FDA it self is one of the reasons why we have GMO foods, and not REAL food. the FDA is very corrupt with its top people related to the devil it self, MONSANTO. RON PAUL wants us to be able to drink and eat what we want, and have the freedom to REAL ORGANIC FOOD, not the GMO crap we have now. pasteurization ruins products, LOWERS their nutrient level, and allows for harmful bacteria to get stronger. PAUL will give us the choice of real food or fake GMO food that has been forced on us.

  • 200-300 people get sick?? Evry year?? Out of hundreds of millions??? Im pretty sure I dont need some entity that doesnt give me a voice, forcing regulations on me or my local grocer. If we are not even free to drink unpasteurized milk, how free are we??

Also, this FDA promoted video completely disregards all the health issues associated with "pasteurized" milk. I am going to vote me in a President who will do away with the corrupt FDA. Ron Paul 2012!!!

  • In Louisiana, it is illegal to buy raw milk, except of course if you are Kleinpeter Farms. These guys buy raw milk, I guess because they promise to pasteurize it. What if I want to buy raw milk and pasteurize it myself? Then, how would that make me different from Kleinpeter Farms?

  • haha sketchiest vid on youtube

  • First of all, as dankeewolnir4042 said in a comment, Ron Paul just wants freedom to be legal. He does not necessarily want us to drink bad milk, as explained in the comment.

Secondly, I would rather vote for Ron Paul even if he wanted us to drink bad milk, because of several things:

    1. We would have freedom of choice to choose if we wanted bad milk or good milk.

    2. Our economy as well as our social conditions will be much better off with him rather than some other candidates.

    Cheers.

  • By the constitution you should be able to drink raw milk if you wish. I don't care what they say about the bacteria considering how those big companies keep he poor cows knee deep in their own poop and being struck with needless containing the real dangers to humans. Raw milk from a farm raised cow is much safer than pasteurized milk from a cow Holocaust camp. And funny add "don't vote for ron paul because his raw milk will kill you" wow so sad but many Americans will fall for it and vote Obama

  • What a weird video. I couldn't tell if it was for or against raw milk.

  • Hey, umm. Most of Europe drinks milk straight from a cow... Why is it such a big deal in the USA? Oh, yea. In the USA cows walk around in their own filth and have very dirty living conditions where in western europe does not... Darn.

  • I grew up eating traditional finnish "Fiilia" which is a sort of yogurt. It is made with raw milk that you set out on your counter for days. This makes a starter that you take from and add more raw milk and let that set out couple days. I am in perfect health at age 56. Now we can not make good fiilia because we can no longer get raw milk. Also in Kentucky I would get raw milk for drinking from local farmer. It is delicious. My son also drank it and ate fiilia and he is also in perfect health.

  • @scspeaksup This is why I want Ron Paul as my President.

  • This video must, evidently, have been paid for by Big Agra controllers. I happen to think that Raw ANYTHING, is superior to cooked. Having said that, the primary issue here, is FREEDOM. We all have the basic right to put anything WE CHOOSE, into our bodies.. It is sad that Big Brother (influenced by Big Business), is trying, & in many ways, to take over this Country,- once founded upon such high ideals. As History has taught us, FREEDOM is something that must constantly be fought for.

  • Whether you believe in raw milk or not, it is your fundamental right to determine if you want to drink it. While It has been proven to have more health benefits than "cooked" milk, of which the majority of nutrients have been cooked out, as well as the enzyme Lactase which would allow people to digest the Lactose in the milk. But it is your right. If you don't want it, don't buy it. Companies will still pasteurize milk for all those microphones who don't understand beneficial bacteria.

  • We shouldn't be allowed to choose what we put into our bodies! That's PREPOSTEROUS!! Only the all-knowing federal government can tell what we should and should not consume. *more eyeroll*

  • Are you an idiot? When have you ever heard a story that someone got e coli or salmonella from raw milk? Every story you hear about when people catch these viruses is from supermarkets or restaurants. Education is the key. More regulations only protect corporations.

  • 1. When done right raw milk is more healthy than you than pasteurized milk, and the pasteurization process. 2. You get the same dangers when you eat raw deli meat. 3. 80% of lactose intolerant people can drink raw milk. 4. Raw milk tastes better 5.Those studies are 40-60 years old, while modern science shows them wrong 6. Who are you to tell me what to eat and what to put into my body.

  • The purpose of the Constitution is to RESTRICT govmt involvement in people's private lives and business. The reason this country is in such dire trouble is exactly BECAUSE we allowed the govmt to enter into areas (private and business) in which they had NO legal jurisdiction. This happened because people who have no clue of the purpose of the Constitution, demanded the government to step in... hence the govmt is taking over. STUDY the Constitution! Ron Paul did exactly the right thing.

  • i drink raw milk every week. it tastes better and i feel better than when i used to drink pasteurized milk. you know what else could have salmonella? spinach. should we never eat that raw too? of course not. heating and destroying the natural nutrients found in our food is what makes us unhealthy and sick. buy local and organic so your food doesn't have to travel thousands of miles or come from sick animals.

  • Ok speaking of ignorance, Calcium doesn't just disappear from milk when it is pasteurized. You have absolutely no idea what you are talking about. They aren't re-added either. Vitamin D is the only thing added, and that has nothing to do with the pasteurization. More complex organic molecules are the only parts changed due to the denaturation of proteins. Anyway, this video is a stupid smear video. Ron Paul voted for the bill because it isn't the right of the government to ban such a thing

  • Here's an idea: how about the federal government stops micromanaging my life and gets back to what it's supposed to be doing like protecting the borders?

  • This is crap

  • This guy obviously works for Obama

  • I find nothing wrong with selling raw milk. If someone wants it, why prevent them from purchasing it? Oh , that's right, you are a commie who thinks we should be forced to be limited to choices in food that is only processed or have chemicals added, my bad! Oh my god, 200 people get sick a year from raw milk! And how many people have cancer from the chemicals they add in the rest of food? Millions of Americans have Cancer from them. Damn Canadian commie.

  • BTW, who funds UnsavoryMen???

This is the slickest BS, I've seen on the TUBE.

  • More over most people who are pushing for all this Federal Regulation, have a vested interest in putting small farmers out of work.

If small farmers can't produce than big corporate farms succeed.

Your a ridiculous person UnsavoryMen, is that a picture of Dick Cheney?

    That's funny.

  • The laws on Pasteurization has been around for almost 90 years in the US. Pasteurization Process is applied not just on milk but on a range of foods, from beer to almond.

Food related pathogens neither stop at farmers' fences nor do they recognize state borders.

By the way it is a picture of Dick Cheney and it is exactly the reason why the user name is "UnsavoryMen"...

  • @UnsavoryMen

Based on your incorrect use of grammar, I'd guess you're an idiot, a dumb kid, or you are a shill cutting and pasting from a script.

  • @UnsavoryMen Scare tactics used to discourage the common person from encroaching on the corporate farms revenue. You should be ashamed. I do love the top rated comment though. Fortunately some of us have half a brain.

  • Unsavoryman what the hell do you care anyway! Your not even in America. Your in Canada, why dont you worry about your government and let us take care of OUR buisiness. I know Canadian politics aren't as interesting so why don't you worry about yourown. Oh and nice gun laws in your commonwealth...your a subject, we are citizens..good luck in the dark going nowhere.

  • I actually grew up drinking raw milk from my grandparents farm and a farmer up the road we used to buy it for $1/Gallon. It never made us sick. But this was in Canada in a rural area from hand milked cows. Maybe that makes a difference.

  • UnsavoryMen wrote: "You mean allowing big corporations to cut corners for profit by skirting the pasteurization process. Naturally small time farmers will not only the ones to take advantage of the law."

Pasturisation was originally adopted by large dairies to save money. It is hard to keep cows clean and their milk pure. The corporate dairies substituted pasturisation for cleanliness.

  • Holy Shit PEOPLE, I found a comment with a Brain behind it. Case closed!

Pasteurization is for big business to keep milk LONGER, which local dairies do NOT have to worry about. You better pasteurize milk from Chicago to Florida. why the fuck send milk that far with fossil fuels. Big Business; Thats why. They with with power will want to stay in power, so will polute night and day, and influence Regs 365, as long as their coiffers go BLING BLING. Go RP

  • Pretty hard to argue with Ron Paul who does not believe in fundamentals of science. Is it any wonder he does not believe in.evolution ?

  • The fundamentals of science are to question rather than accept something as dogma. Politically he is the most scientific candidate out there. With our advances in microbiology and genetics we now know that Darwin's work only pertains to short term mutations where no new genes are added. That system of natural selection can't explain the evolution of all species over millions of years, and it doesn't begin to describe the origins of life. He didn't say he didn't believe creatures evolve

  • @UnsavoryMen he does however believe that "rights" are derived from nature, just like the Kings did, Cool vid keep up the good work

  • Simply, in a free market society, companies would be created that have a vested interest in making sure that safe milk is produced. Why do some people think the government is actually responsible and competent when they've been proven otherwise for so many generation? Americans have lost the ability to recognize and understand what freedom really is.

  • Did Penut Corp of America from Georgia had vested interest to taint their food ? Or companies that supplied pet food last year Or lead tainted baby toys from Mattel, Spinach and tomato growers from California that made people infected with salmonella bacteria last year had vested interest to taint their food ?

  • The problem that you were talking about is, the Federal is very irresponsible about their work. They did not detect right away. Then millions of people already eaten it. The fact that we have to understand, if a centralized government food protector cannot protect us in the first place. Then why need them, instead of local and indepedent institutions could be in there. Theres so many of them are capable of doing that kind of job. What's the use of the government if they do not even do their job.

  • ALSO....why are humans the only "animal" that drinks milk after its weaned from the mother and we are the ones that drink milk of another animal?? doesn't any body doubt the dairy farmers association? Or the lobbyists that are paid and paying big bucks for government endorsements?? MILK IS BAD FOR THE HUMAN BODY...PERIOD!

  • And there are also beneficial nutriants that are destroyed by pasturization. The point is this is something states should be able to regulate, and individuals should be able to choose. The very idea that government is preventing all harm and you don't need to think for yourself is much more dangerous to you than freedom to think for yourself.

Most of us don't want the sort of governmental intervention necessary to pad our entire world. We want to make our own choices.

  • Every milk consumer is not a health or food safety expert to be able to know what is in unpasteurized milk.

  • Ratings disabled = FAIL

  • hmmm, who do I trust?

  • raw milk is awesome - you should check out the weston price foundation website for the facts

  • The job of weston price foundation is make the source of disease outbreaks such as Mad Cow disease or Avian flu impossible to trace back to by opposing the USDA and state agriculture agencies create a nationwide location and identification system on all livestock on all farms and ranches.

  • Or maybe the WP foundation is run by a bunch of hipster natural foodists who don't want the gov't harassing every farmer/rancher about their livestock

  • 1) You don't have to drink it

    2) Companies who make dangerous products are sued or simply go bankrupt

    3) 200-300 out of 300+ million...

    4) Yes, you should have the freedom to take risks(examples: alcohol, tobacco etc...)

  • 300+ million people are not drinking raw milk

If 300+ million were drinking raw milk today we would have thousands of food borne illnesses from raw milk like it used to in early 1900s before Pasteurization was introduced.

Alcohol: Beer is also Pasteurized for longer self-life. Actually the original intention of Louis Pasteur was to make the self-life of beer longer.

Tobacco: Tobacco is not a liquid substance and besides that it burns when you smoke it.

  • He's talking about "other" associated risks. But i'm guessing you know this.

  • Way to miss the point. Tobacco can get you lung cancer and alcohol can make you trip and hurt yourself. The point was that people know these things might happen, but they still smoke and drink. I.e. they have the freedom to take risks.

  • I rather drink raw milk than the poison your goverment spews out everyday, have nice day ;)

Another fail attempt to descredit RP, keep it coming, it fuels our energy ;)

  • 200-300 people get sick out of over 300 million? You mean there's .0001% chance of getting sick from raw milk?

Where's the outrage over something like car accidents? 114 people die per day from car accidents and I'd bet my left testicle that your paranoid of milk ass drives a car without giving the risk of death much of any thought.

  • UnSavory if reading please respond to my comments with your opinion. If you stay silent I'll take that as you yourself agree with Ron Paul

  • My mother grew up in Mexico on a farm, and would drink milk right from the pale after milking the cow. Let people know he dangers of drinking raw milk, but don't ban, simply require a label, as BGH milk should. Most milk is now BGH free b/c people didn't want to buy it, however you are proposing the gov't should continue to coddle the people it serves, assuming they are too stupid to make their own choices.

  • *the

  • Prevention is always much better than cure.

Just because some one has better immune system doesnt mean every one will have the same.

Just because you did not end up getting killed in a high speed car race on a freeway does not mean car racing on a free way is safe.

Can we just post a sign along freeway notifying high speed car racing is unsafe and let everyone have no speed limits ?

  • Accuse me wouldn't highways be a state issue, RP has stated before pasteurization of milk should be state regulated & not federaly regulated. Sorry america isnt washington D.C., the states might have different views on this, let states compete instead of some national law and stop wasting federal taxes. Abortion one thing I disagree with RP about but he would make it a states issue, some states would be for others against; and you'd have a choice.

  • Of course it is state regulated that is reason why it was allowed to sell raw milk in California until 2007 until Gov. Arnold the Terminator terminated that law and made it illegal.

When the raw milk crosses the state borders, it is no longer a state issue.

  • "Of course it is state regulated that is reason why it was allowed to sell raw milk in California until 2007 until Gov. Arnold the Terminator terminated that law and made it illegal."

What? It's still legal in that state. There WAS a danger of raw milk being banned in 2007 thanks to lobbyists working for the big dairy corporations, and continuing the status quo. However, apparently Gov. Schwarzenegger "saw the light" and decided to have the sale of it remain legal.

  • Your argument lacks merit for several reasons as you miss two vital aspects of drinking raw milk:

1 You only risk your own health. No one will be force fed raw milk.

2 No one is selling racing on the freeway. If raw milk is shipped out and people die/become ill from it, then then their families will sue, and no one will buy their milk raw or not. The market will handle itself.

By "preventing" people from taking actions that harm MAY only themselves you tell them: you are to weak for freedom.

  • Comment removed

  • Prevention is always much better than cure.

Too bad we don't have this attitude toward our sexual "freedoms". But i'm guessing you support choice in this case.

  • you wrote, "Too bad we don't have this attitude toward our sexual "freedoms". But i'm guessing you support choice in this case. "

Ever heard about things like condoms, birth control pills etc ?

  • Ah, so what you are saying is you don't need the government to protect you because there are measures you can take yourself. Good point.

  • You wrote, "Ah, so what you are saying is you don't need the government to protect you because there are measures you can take yourself. Good point."

We might need to regulate "human semen/sperm industry" if someone decides to run semen/sperm farm from his/her bedroom for production, sale and distribution of millions of gallons of his/her semen/sperm. In this case condoms, birth control pills wont work.

  • this is more fda rubbish...

     Ron Paul Rules!!!

  • i think you miss the point, ron paul wants freedom to be legal...thats all. regulation is done by the people. people find out a milk company is puttin out bad milk, they stop buying from that company, another company comes along and says..."hey we only sell fresh, clean, quality milk". if that turns out to be true, that company stays in business. you dont need a govmnt to keep the sorry milk company in business, but tell it what it needs to do. you need a better milk company. (free market)

  • aamen

  • music to the hears but remember boycotting works only against non state & federal funded companies through grants, subsidies, bailouts, ownership otherwise any losses get replaced by more taxes.

  • My video is not about grants, subsidies, bailouts, or taxes. It is about dangers of raw milk. on human health and Ron Paul's attempt to endanger physical health.

  • Yeah Ron Paul isn't saying you have to drink it. Now if he did then that's another story. People have the right to chose.

But you have a failed argument. If people get sick from the milk they're not going to drink it. If people want to drink it then you don't have a right to tell them no. It is in no way an issue of health but of choice.

Your video is just out there to attack Ron Paul because you have no real base of argument.

  • Utter nonsense, Pasteur was French right? Well in France many cheeses are made from unpasturised milk, you can choose between pasturised and non pasturised in the shop, it's up to you, I don't see a worse health situation in France, in fact quite the opposite.

Take more interest in the Federal reserve it will be more beneficial in the long run than fearmongering about milk.

  • The fundamental reasoning behind this is freedom of choice, maybe you don't get it maybe you like having bureaucrats deciding what you can eat drink and smoke.

That's ok some are born to lead and others are born to do as they're told.

  • If people wanted to drink raw milk, its their decision. They are not stupid for sure. Its like saying, dont smoke cigarettes because it can harm your lungs. Also, dont use the holy bible it can offend buddhists and atheists people. You cannot strict or regulate some human behavior. If you do, they get confused. Just because its bad for their health, doesn't mean we have to regulate or set up a new rules in order to abide that person. We cannot allow ourselves to give up certain personal rights.

  • If they drink raw milk and spread deadly disease to me it does become my business.

  • Why such person willing to drink a raw milk that has a deadly disease? Who is that person, an infant kid, or a man who has no brain to think for himself, and cannot tell between right and wrong? Who would dare to do that? Sounds like stupidity is a bliss. That would only happen if he is a Machurian candidate.

  • straight from the tit baby!!! ron paul knows whassup...

  • hahahaha lol

  • If people want pasteurized milk, than THEY CAN BUY PASTEURIZED MILK, if they do not want pasteurized milk, then YOU WILL SEND GOVERNMENT THUGS TO THERE DOOR AND HALL THEM OFF TO THE RAPE ROOMS THAT IS OUR PRISON SYSTEM ALL BECAUSE THEY WANT TO DRINK OR PRODUCE RAW MILK??

You do not care about freedom, you do not understand freedom, you are a sheep, you are sad.

  • No one is is FORCED to drink raw milk, however you are willing to FORCE people not to drink raw milk.

You think violence should be used to accomplish your goals, that is thuggery.

  • You mean allowing big corporations to cut corners for profit by skirting the pasteurization process. Naturally small time farmers will not only the ones to take advantage of the law.

  • Your an idiot, the big scary corporation by skirting the pasteurization process has to label their milk has Unpasteurized or if they sold it has Pasteurized they would be open to libel & be sued open to million in losses. With todays atmosphere what jury would side with big business if another american died from it etc. Knowing what you do; you wont be buying raw milk, and maybe you would buy cheaper raw milk and heat the milk yourself. saving yourself whatever you can.

  • "They who can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety. "

  • freedom to drink whatever the hell you want without some government thug knocking down your door.

you do not have the right to tell people what they can or cannot drink, it is their choice NOT YOURS.

  • You mean freedom to make others sick as well ?

  • So 100% accurate, drink raw milk = death. So I can't heat the milk before I drink & save myself some money (In this video did I not here you could heat the milk). Also any company caught cutting corners, &claiming to sell pasteurized milk; test the milk 100$ max to see if its been pasteurized; would be open to millions in losses if it wasn't. Also Is this best you can do to Insult too bad Ron Paul never passed legislation he would make pasteurization illegal but he didn't.

  • It's not the government's job to micromanage what you eat or drink. IF you don't want to drink unpasteurized don't buy it and don't drink it. Simple as that.

  • Who cares about freedom right? 200-300 people get sick according to the government so we will take away your freedom. Go climb back in your hole and never come out please.

    kthxbye

  • freedom to get sick ?

  • why not??

  • Can you try ?

  • That`s supposed to be an answer???
