I just used 2.5" like the rest of the exhaust and yes I still have my resonator. I took the muffler off my self( two bolts and 3 hangers) then took it up to the shop and told him I wanted the stock tips with just straight pipes out the back. It was only like 55 bucks.
sorry to those who were asking me questions, i dont use this account very often. i will be sure to check it more regularly so if you guys still have any questions let me know.
i just got it done to my roadster and it sound awesome! for them who want to see what it looks like, go to bing.com images ....custom exhaust 350z...that is the cleanest way to do yours.
Nice sound, could you please tell me exactly what you did, cause i wanna do the same thing on my z. Did you delete the mis muff ( resonator) also? I remove mine last week and i like the sound of it but i want to get a lit bit louder, please let me know about it
same here. I'm wanting to put one more resonator in to see if it calms the noise a bit. I like the sound though. Exhaust are way too expensive for this thing! I have had The Borla true dual, which took away the sound imo..I want to get rid of a lil of the noise though.
Seattle, you should not pay no more than 40 for this, it took 10 to 15 mins to finish. And you'd better go to your local exhaust specialist.

That's what's done to my Z. Sounds absolutely orgasmic. Not too many people appreciating the true sound of a VQ35R. Props dude.

I haven't done yet, but like i said i removed the resonator, and i would like to know how you did yours, size of pipe and the route of it
Thanks

What size pipes did you replace the stock muffler setup with? I assume 2.5" or 3". Just curious.
Sounds really good for what little was involved.

keep your resonator ...because at crusing speeds it will be quiet like stock and when you open it up the vq will let you know its there.

Sounds nice man. I hear it drones quite a bit though.
It sounds like your clutch is slipping or you might be riding your clutch between shifts.
