To people saying it's the metal grate. Even if he had something keeping him from falling, it would be extremely impossible to keep himself up at that angle with just one tiny piece of metal or something. You guys try leaning backwards at an 180 degree angle with your shoe hooked onto something and other leg up in the air.

The knee has a locking brace as well. As for his torso, keeping that straight is about as hard as doing a situp.

To the magician: It should be possible to modify the knee brace so it uses a spring rather than a locking mechanism. If you use the tension of a spring to hold you up, it'll add a slight wobble, which will make it look more realistic, and it won't look like your knee is locked in place.

its really simple see the grill drainage + Michael Jackson's patented shoe which allows u to bend more than an average man? He places his shoe in one of the empty holes in the grill and the the hook clings to the grill and he balances only on that base of his leg.
