This shows how uninformed, ignorant performances are doomed to fail. This is like a parody of one of the most beautiful pieces of music ever written. Aside from the squeaking counter-tenor, the tempo couldn't be more wrong. Were they all on ether?

I love Acis & Galatea but this version is not my taste. The tenors in the choir sound quite harsh and the 'thunder' sections of this chorus are a bit too slow.

Agreed. This is a beautiful chorus especially, but the higher male voices are butchering it. Check out the Gardiner recording, though.
