You collect an unemployment check when you, through no fault of your own, lose your job or, under dire circumstances, have to quit your job.
Bottom line, you don't collect unemployment unless you had been EMPLOYED. And the check is so small, it doesn't take a genius to know working is preferable.
It should be obvious that people want to work and that they collect unemployment to hold them over while they are looking.

Perhaps you are not clear about the concept of unemployment.
You collect an unemployment check when you, through no fault of your own, lose your job or, under dire circumstances, have to quit your job.
Bottom line, you don't collect unemployment unless you had been EMPLOYED. And the check is so small, it doesn't take a genius to know working is preferable.
It should be obvious that people want to work and that they collect unemployment to hold them over while they are looking.

As I read that it says that you're careful with money, which is smart, but that you feel that you are somehow superior to some unspecified group(s) that don't follow your rules (I'm guessing the usual suspects, gays). That aside, and your blanket criticism of Maddow aside as well, what she says is 100% true--there is nothing to prevent Jindal from announcing that he is unwilling to raise taxes in 3 years to sustain the program, but he will use the money while it lasts to benefit the unemployed.

There's an element missing to this arguement...I don't know the answer, I'm in CA, but how much tax revenue did LA get? If Blanco got 28 billion and Jindal got 31 billion, I fail to see the problem. No my friend, Blanco spent 29 billion on the state budget and jindal attacked her for spending to much. Jindal promised to cut her budget. After Jindal was elected he turned around and spent 30.1 billion for the state budget. He said with oil selling for at least 72 dollars barrel Louisiana had extra money. With Oil selling at 40 dollars a barrel we are losing at least a million dollars a barrel out of the revenue to just pay for our state budget. Jindal is a big spender.

Louisiana Legislators on Friday blocked the Jindal administrations plans for spending the states first batch of federal stimulus money.
Jindals plan was to only share the stimulus money with 38 of the states 64 parishes.
