I'm confused - could someone explain to me why the Green Party has decided to have a leader?

The ideology of a Socialist Environmental party, I'd imagine that a leader wouldn't match ideologically.

Previously, they had two leaders, representing their approach to power-sharing. They decided to elect a single leader in order to show the country that they are a real political party, not just a fringe group of tree-huggers.
