We used to have one called the Coquahalla that was a shortcut through the mountains...for me it was great, lucky to use once every 2-3 years and I always maintained that if they pushed it through all the way to the north that I would gladly pay to use it, but if my job depended on paying to use it then I would be singing a different tune
I swore I'd never drive the toll roads until got a job in Round Rock. Driving the Toll-O-Bahn was a dream. I paid $33 per week, and saved 10 HOURS of sitting/driving on the Hellway known as I-35. The owners of that toll road lobbied TexDOT to lower the speed limits on I-35 in order to get more business... that's wrong. Thanks tex!
I love the pay by mail. Next time I am down there, Ima travel that highway in my rental car and have them mail me the invoice to me here in Canada ... LOL
there thinking of making the I-5 bridge from washington into portland, or. into a toll bridge. gonna cost me an extra $100 a month to get to work if it happens. can go over to I-205, but will cost at least that much extra in fuel...
If I've said it once, I've said it a million times, Austin is the worst traffic in America PER CAPITA....Hey man, shoot me some footage of the Stevie Ray Vaughan statue, lol...cool vid man
Well I know what "per capita" means, I just didn't know if that included Dallas. It was more of an expression of shock. I figured Dallas would easily have the worst traffic per capita. Heck, I figured even New Orleans and Atlanta would be worse.
yea we have them here in canada ontario to tex, i with you never take my personel car on it, did once cost me 12 dollars for 2 kms.. looks like all concrete same as ours,,
I use the 407 at least 2 times a week from the 401 to hwy 48, which is 40 mins or so but it still beats using the 401 which can be 1.5 to 2 hrs for the same distance. But I do see alot more traffic on it now than when i first started using it 2 years ago
In 5 years it will be gridlock just like the Sam Houston Tollway in Houston. Enjoy it while it lasts.

Is Austin worse than Dallas?
loadmaster8991 2 years ago
PER CAPITA, meaning it is the worst traffic for a city that size
