I love this movie! I love how they slip in a jaws reference in the music tones! This movie made me feel a littles scared at time just by the suspense. This is how movies should be made today!

If you want to know why Spielberg is the greatest director in history, watch this movie and Jaws and Back to the Future part I. He is a master storyteller. He truly relishes making movies and he transfers his passion onto the screen; that's why his audiences relish watching them. Here's hoping for another classic like Close Encounters!

I never saw this in theatres as I was only 9 at the time, but I remember watching the show on TV, and as an early Teen I would go to the Library and check out the LP soundtrack to the movie. For a while I had an 8 Track & cassette copy, and would listen to it over and over again. Now that I've got the music stuck in my head again, I'm going to have to download the soundtrack or purchase the CD thereof.

@KringleOfBorg Hi There! Yes I know that music as well. I was 13 when CE3K came out! I saw it before I saw Star Wars! I used to listen to the soundtrack in bed.Its good music and also liked "Meco's" disco verison of it.
